Your new headlights look sweet. Just did the same on my 2005 4Runner and the new lights looked amazing but leaked like crazy. Have to pull them, seal them with silicone and re-install. Recommend sealing with silicone before installing after market lights the first time.
Thorough instructions! I have no mechanical experience and was able to do this myself! I had to take off my front bumper to get that 5th mount for the light though!
Just replaced mine and i have a weird horizontal shadow which is annoying when driving at night. Didnt have that issue with original headlamps. Do you have the same issue with yours?
@@ricotheunprofessional this is the 3rd headlamp I ordered from different vendors. The last one being autozone. The only adjustment I see is for the beam direction and that doesn’t remove the horizontal shadow.
Just use aluminum polish/cream with a waffle buffer sponge at low speed. 5 minutes or so. Then apply the "303 Aerospace Protectant" (UV protector) every three months. That's what I've done on multiple cars.
@@ricotheunprofessional I did that on my 06 4runner too, about 4 years ago before I knew about the polish. Mine were from Amazon, they looked good but they leaked water, and the UV clear coat peeled off after a year. Good job on your video. :-)
@@GaryWold I just replaced headlights with an after-market brand and they leak... Need to pull the assemblies and seal them with silicone. Appreciate the tip on the 303 protectant.
Thank you fam! You helped me tremendously. I would love to smash a six pack with you as a thank you. If you are ever in CO, holla at me. I appreciate you making this video. Cheers to you!
Wait. What?! All you had to do was buy the $30 3M light restoration kit (the one with sand paper and a buffer for any drill) and bulbs. I have the same 4Runner you do and when the lights get yellowed and oxidized, I use the resto kit on them. Takes probably 20 min a side. smh
Never touch a halogen bulb with dirty hands or dirty gloves. Always hold it by the connector end. Any dirt or grease on the bulb will cause it to prematurely fail. And the bulb should always be wiped down with a clean tissue before installation. Between you touching the bulb with dirty gloves and not putting all the mounting fasteners back in, I can see why the name of your channel is Rico unprofessional.

I did not. You might need to adjust the level

Have you had any problems with not bolting that fourth lower bolt up inside the bumper?
not at all lol
What exactly are you getting loose or unlatching for that bottom cover? For some reason I’m having the hardest time with that.
the trim piece below the headlights? or the wheel well cover?
Do you do anything to seal the headlights?
nope. it came pre-sealed
@@ricotheunprofessional thanks for the quick response and video
@@dynasty2295 thank you for watching🙏🏼🙏🏼
how have the headlights held up so far
its been great. just upgraded the bulbs to LED, did a video about that too. and it's been a few months both the cover and the bulbs are doing grear!
Thanks. I've made 2 unsuccessful attempts.
Glad I could help a bit, it can be very tricky.
What the top left bulb called on the headlamp?
That is the parking/marker light. I don't know about others, but I don't have DRLs and the parking lights come on with one click on my light switch.
did this light come with bulbs, the one you linked?
no it does not. Got the bulbs from autozone

Haha I would've if I decided to keep the truck, it is gone now 😅
I used this video to replace my headlights, thanks. Yeah that 5th bolt on the bottom is TERRRRRRIBLE!!!

I’ve done the same n year later start yellowing rather just put new one in
