And all because they overreacted on failing the audition and the judges being prejudice. They are not the worst people in the world but they are indeed in the end still people.
@SpookyLittleGirlLikeYou I mean, to be fair, the music is how they produce the power. Like, it looks ridiculous to us, but if we only had enough power to keep one or two key buildings per city running we'd probably put all our power into the buildings that generate our electricity.

Tatiana is the best kind of "Villain" the one who can throw everything back in the face of the "heroes" and actually overpower them with logic. She had Mayday second guessing herself at the end of their back and forth, had she kept pressing like that, it's possible she could have opened dialogue with them about joining NSR and expanding their list of artists and genres.
I love the detail that when Mayday and Zuke are separated in Eve's fight, Mayday's area is chaotic and angry while Zuke's area is pristine and almost divine Could either be seen as representations of the two of them OR representations of how Eve views/feels about them. Could also very likely be both-
Looking back on these bosses and how people started to doubt Mayday and Zuke, even to the point of mischaracterizing them as villains makes me wonder how they viewed NSR when the game came out. BBJ had good intentions, they believed what they were doing was right. However while they had a good message, they did not plan ahead or knew the whole picture. While yes it was shitty of May to break Yinu’s piano, how could she have known that it belonged to Yinu’s deceased father? She also shows remorse for what she did immediately after, meaning she then learns how much that piano meant to Yinu and her mom. Mayday and Zuke aren’t “heroes” or “villains”, they’re people who believed they had a good cause. In the end it was proven that both Tatiana and Mayday were wrong AND correct. No one but Kliff really were bad people, they were just people. Artists who wanted to create. Or maybe it’s just a silly video game lol
You know what could be a fun and challenging boss fight, a fight against like a dancer or someone who listens to there music and there really challenging and the thing is that they will change songs every few minutes so you haft to keep track with each new attack and the way you neat him is you haft wait untill he gets an ad where there's a chance they will skip it or not and that's when you attack
The studio is from Malaysia No wonder DK west can speak Malay I immediately search this about this game on Google after hearing my language being spoken I'm so proud to be Malaysian
DJ sub could of said " You remind me of Uranus." Because only foul smelling things come here with no taste. Be gone peasants. That being said just found out about Encore edition and can't wait till it comes to consoles. Also I could listen to Tatiana forever.
I feel like a better smaller detail to Yinu's boss fight in the end was that the meter read as an error, busted, or something; noting clearly it was neither EDM nor Rock (obviously), but rather classical music purely from the heart. With that, I think it would have been better story telling wise to have Yinu before Tatiana (maybe even before Sayu, with Sayu being before Tatiana) to better serve the overarching lesson of the game, with Yinu screaming out to just let her play how SHE wants to play. Following afterwards, Mayday and Zuke begin to second guess their selves as to whether or not they're fighting for the people of Vinyl City or serving their own self-interest, realizing they were suppressing Yinu as much as the NSR was then instead of post Tatiana with the new NSR analogy, giving a clear indication to the player where the story was taking a shift towards while giving a start to character development instead of all unloading at the very end with Mayday. Going back to having Yinu>Sayu>Tatiana for progression, this would make the interaction between Sayu make even more sense, because Mayday doesn't want to oppose them or suppress them, she understands they're just trying to do what they love, she just wants to help the city, not hurt it.
Literally the 4th boss fight: beat up a piano kid and summon the devil's wife also she turned into a spider who doesn't anything then the piano kid hates the devil's wife and then turns into a giant golden rose and try to get the piano kid by beating her up again
OK so I know nothing about this game yet and what u got from that first boss fight is "colorful friend duo decides the Starman partied too hard so they murdered him by stabbing his balls repeatedly"
I think the greatest part is, Tatianna is completely right the whole way through, about how Mayday is really just throwing a tantrum because she didn't get her way. Maybe EXDM wasn't perfect, but what Mayday almost caused with her actions... I feel a better ending would have ben her seeing a LOT of jail time. CLeaning up your own mess is NOT a heroic act/
I won't say they were completely right the whole way through. Even if Mayday was... uhh... kinda selfish and dumb at times, the current system DIDN'T work. They WERE losing power in the city, and they had a draconian hierarchy and some of their members are _A bit too drunk on power._ There HAD to be change, the execution was just a teeeensy bit sloppy and a bit too personally motivated. But hey, the outcome is a city that isn't actively crumbling under the weight of a higher up's spite.
the whole issue was that a monocultural way of running the city was inherently flawed, not everyone was a rock fan, but not everyone was an EDM fan either. This is why the power kept going it, only a large chunk of the population was really performed to at a time, ignoring all lesser trends in favor of the singular larger one.
The thing with this game is that, all the boss fights are unfair. DJSS was a lonely man looking for a meaning in life and it got destroyed. SAYU was a vocaloid and was overlooked because of it. YINU was only a child having a grief, 1010 was a project of an ex-soldier, having a life-crisis, EVE was a woman who got ghosted by her ex, surviving an abusal relationship, yet the game tries to represent BBJ as protagonists. Strange...
The game has many ways of being interpreted, which is why it's called No Straight Roads. I personally think BBJ were two folks with a passion but lost their way when seeking justice against the 'rock opression'. Both had their passions and mistakes. Which I really like it!
It's kinda funny to think about but most common performers are kinda poor compared to others so they need to run gigs to pay their bills or other-words ; KEEP THE LIGHTS ON.
Looked at this one again to see if the Showstopper hits the enemy’s face most of the time (remember in Lights Up! when they said they would go Bunka, then Junka, then Bam in (their) faces?) and it does!
This was some great gameplay, the editing was good and not overused to much. The audio was fine as well, that's pretty much it. Wanna hear some jokes? DJ subatomic supernova be like BUt biLLiOns aNd tRilLioNs... SAYU making puns be like "That was fin-tastic!" DK West telling his life story and venting out his anger through rap, now that's a gamer move to avoid depression or should I say hammer-intuitive. After destroying YINU's piano but then you realise that it was from her father who had passed away be like: 😐 I'm very funny, that's why I have a lot of friends in my dreams...
If you want to see a game like that, it's not so much like NSR, but there is a rythm/plataforming game called Mad Rat Dead that has really good music if you want to check it out!

Thank you for seeing the bigger picture most people just blame them
2:23 Bros f!ckin jammin up there😂
You know what could be a fun and challenging boss fight, a fight against like a dancer or someone who listens to there music and there really challenging and the thing is that they will change songs every few minutes so you haft to keep track with each new attack and the way you neat him is you haft wait untill he gets an ad where there's a chance they will skip it or not and that's when you attack
That’s a good idea actually
The studio is from Malaysia
No wonder DK west can speak Malay
I immediately search this about this game on Google after hearing my language being spoken
I'm so proud to be Malaysian
DK West, DK West, my healthbar is a mess. LOL!!
This game is an absolute hidden GEM
DJ sub could of said " You remind me of Uranus." Because only foul smelling things come here with no taste. Be gone peasants.
That being said just found out about Encore edition and can't wait till it comes to consoles.
Also I could listen to Tatiana forever.
I still love the fact the visuals are just amazing!
Binged an entire play-through of this game during Quarantine
I'd like to think that yinu's father was a child prodigy pianist too and he passed his talent on to yinu when she was born
Without a doubt right next to the psychonauts series the best damn music game ever
I'd personally recommend Necrodancer as well.
Psychonauts isn't a music game...
@@FreakinSweet1987 yeah but it does have good music xD
@@FreakinSweet1987 true, but its music & creativity gets me
I think you’re forgetting something..
You’ve forgotten to include mad rat dead!! check out it’s ost sometime, it’s an absolute banger\
I wish they had room to make Neon J. Dance on top of his mech, like they originally intended.
“This pedestrian girl you chose is a mistake. She is fire! Fire and sea do not mix!!!”
Wonderful ❤

What have you done today?
SIMPELTONS!!
*se menea epicamente*
You know that saying “a Diamond in the rough”? This game is the embodiment of that!
A really unique game with awesome music themed bosses.
I like the music remixes but I wished they added more to the ending or animations but I'm still happy.
There's actually 3 DK west battles in this game
True, but only the first one is required. The other two are entirely optional.
@@kylestubbs8867 Personally, they are, like I know they're hard ass fuck but like for the story it feels like it's necessary
@@kylestubbs8867 That's true only first one shows as a boss fight other two are optional
20:26 THAT'S WHERE ZUKE SAID IN HIS BROTHER'S ACCENT GO CHECK IT OUT!
Ngl I'd listen to the dj songs
There's something about the mixing of the chill beats with progressively increasing amount of rock
Literally the 4th boss fight: beat up a piano kid and summon the devil's wife also she turned into a spider who doesn't anything then the piano kid hates the devil's wife and then turns into a giant golden rose and try to get the piano kid by beating her up again
7:49 Mayday's not even exerting much effort to run here XD
Can it even be considered running AT ALL? She's pretty much walking!
ok but can we talk about how good the ending is?
OK so I know nothing about this game yet and what u got from that first boss fight is "colorful friend duo decides the Starman partied too hard so they murdered him by stabbing his balls repeatedly"
42:58 48:34 48:50 50:20 51:26 51:40 59:00 1:00:09 1:00:49 1:00:54 1:01:57
I think the greatest part is, Tatianna is completely right the whole way through, about how Mayday is really just throwing a tantrum because she didn't get her way. Maybe EXDM wasn't perfect, but what Mayday almost caused with her actions... I feel a better ending would have ben her seeing a LOT of jail time. CLeaning up your own mess is NOT a heroic act/
I won't say they were completely right the whole way through. Even if Mayday was... uhh... kinda selfish and dumb at times, the current system DIDN'T work. They WERE losing power in the city, and they had a draconian hierarchy and some of their members are _A bit too drunk on power._
There HAD to be change, the execution was just a teeeensy bit sloppy and a bit too personally motivated.
DJ Subatomic now is my new favorite character.
Are we gonna ignore the fact azule was having a stroke at 31:26
The thing with this game is that, all the boss fights are unfair.
Sayu takes gun memes
Zuke: just exist
Any boss: is it wimpy loser?
I never realized u can see dj subatomic supernova hairy legs on his 2nd phase
Kacy: I love the soundtrack and all games edition is awesome!!!🤩🤩🤩
Bella: Well, sounds nice.😊😊😊
22:24 DK WEST DK WEST HE IS YOUR MAN DK WEST DK WEST HE IS THE BEST DK WEST HE IS YOUR MAN DK WEST DK WEST HE IS THE BEST
I like how casual DK west is about stealing Zukes fans
He wants a rap battle with Zuke. That involves making him angry enough to accept.
31:29 poor zuke
Zuke be like: Ow- Ow- *O W-*
Looked at this one again to see if the Showstopper hits the enemy’s face most of the time (remember in Lights Up! when they said they would go Bunka, then Junka, then Bam in (their) faces?) and it does!
OK but that intro transition was smooth as hell for some reason
If the game was ever made as an anime show, then they will add the intro
TenTen is giving me so much secondary embarrassment oh my goddd
0:47 holy shit... have 1010 and NeonJ always been so...thicc?!
This was some great gameplay, the editing was good and not overused to much. The audio was fine as well, that's pretty much it.
Wanna hear some jokes?

SAYU making puns be like
"That was fin-tastic!"
DK West telling his life story and venting out his anger through rap, now that's a gamer move to avoid depression or should I say hammer-intuitive.

Ngl, I laughed

Me learning Yinus now destroyed piano was a gift from her deceased father: ._.

This part 😂
I’m kinda sad that this game wasn’t like a rhythm game and platformer combined
If you want to see a game like that, it's not so much like NSR, but there is a rythm/plataforming game called Mad Rat Dead that has really good music if you want to check it out!

But it is?
@@alucardsantradideus267 more the attacks themselves are. I assume they were thinking something closer to Crypt of the Necrodancer, where at least attacks have to be done to the beat. I think here you *can* do that, but it's not required whatsoever.
I hope that we'll see an Anime Styled tie-in series.
