Gambino is a really beautiful person to me. like yeah any 14 year old female fan could say that and call him all types of cute and whatever, but i mean his mind and spirit and attitude toward the world and the people in it. he's a great person to look up to. I really love the way he thinks and the way he works and gets his ideas and the end product of those ideas. it's all amazing to me how talented he is and how many things he can just produce with no structure or guideline. He's one of my favorite non-everyday people. Appreciate this guy, people. He's smart about life.
+xXBDawkinsXx Seriously, all of A$Aps albums were amazing and had some of the best beats in any rap album. He has awesome flow, just like Gambino. Also, Childish Gambino has the cheeziest lines in the world (They are so ridiculous sometimes, he is the funniest rapper I know as well, puts other rappers down with his puns) and all the shit he is talking about feels and sounds natural. All so often I feel like he is talking, but he is still rapping. Gambino, Hopsin, A$AP and Jon Connor (PLEASE listen to some of this guy's songs) are my favorite rappers as of now.

the people saying hes gay dont even listen to his music, and in an interview he said he's girls crazy. .. Idk about how ''illiterate'' can be relevant but
Have you ever watched community? People don't know the difference between acting and real life so everyone thinks he is like his character in community.
Gambino is good but he has a lot of hidden potential. Probably because lack of experience or something but gambino is talented compare him to most rappers most rappers have driving confidence but Gambino is talented tho
You guys do know that gambino is really high in this video. He was doing another interview in another video smoking a vaporizer. That interview was in his hotel room in the morning. Maybe that's why u find him extra weird. C'mon when u high u talk like that more. Shit I do the same thing lol
Rappers like him are like lil dicky. They like to rap. Its what they like to do. Thats not the only they are. Rapping is a hobby. For example if your friends are thieves but you get your stuff easily and you start stealing with them. You're not a thief. You're just a friend. Childish is a friend to hip hop. He visits it.
I concur with your first statement. The idea that Bino does rapping for a hobby , he's stated himself that he does it because he enjoys it. But if you steal then you are a thief, you're not a friend if you help someone else steal , you're a thief. That's a plain and simple fact. Furthermore , I don't even see how that correlates to using rapping as a hobby. Maybe if you said you work a job but you also record video game videos on the side then yes you are indulging in a hobby . It is not your main line of work , but a hobby you enjoy. Your comment lacks coherence in my opinion.
Okay here's my point. In South Africa we have alot of cheese boys(rich kids) who hang out with gangsters. Those cheese boys are told "life is easy for you" so they steal to be part of the crew but they arent hardened criminals. Their thieving days will be a story from their past in an interview while the hardened criminals he hung out with are in jail. Childish is an artist, a thespian. His rap career will be discussed in an interview years from now while he promotes his movie while the real rappers who had real stories to tell who he hung out with get nothing but a mention. He's hip hop friend. Not a hardened rapper but a thespian who raps because he has the ability not coz its a talent. Like celebrity model vs. an actual model who hustled for the job david bekham got because he's david bekham. Get it now? Or did I lose you in MY comment?
I want him to create one of those worlds. To fabricate an entire fairytale based on music, that I could live in for a lifetime in and of itself. I want to live in a world created by Donald. PLEASE, do this. I believe in your work.
I know exactly what he means about being more creative in the morning sometimes I wake up with the clearest thoughts but then become less focused as reality sets in. it's like when you're in that state you have no sense of your own limits and therefore have none
I just started listening to his music and I was actually impressed. This interview was obscure yet insightful the dude is pretty good so far to me. Keep on doing what u do
Maybe I'm just high but I didn't really notice how many times he said "like". I was paying more attention to the underlying message instead of being distracted by his filler words. Thinking about it now, maybe he says "like" to filter out anyone that's not really paying attention lol. This interview is a gem 💎
I know this is an old comment but he was probably wearing that shirt for a couple of days and decided he could squeeze a few more days out of it by flipping it inside out
He seems like he's struggling in his interviews. Still trying to find himself. And he also mentions this at times within his songs. This is the definition of someone who's real. They admit that they don't know who they are. He's quite talented the way he sings sounding like a million different artists but yet has a collage feel as an artist. Music seems to be his calm in within a storm of continuous bias and judgement. I do think he's living in a dangerous world where he's being watched every step of the way and he could break anytime soon. Human Beings inherently sometimes seem to not handle pressure well when it becomes a boiling point. I hope I'm wrong though. Still love his music and attitude regardless.
the crazy thing people who are fans of people dont understand is..why people are fans of people. maybe to you kanye is meh whatevs, but kanye is the definintion of do and say what you want. kanye lives how he wants, and when he puts out music, its sometimes hard to just classify it as one genre. my friend told me yeezus is ahead of its time, and i laughed that comment off, because i didnt like the album, compared to j coles born sinner album, but its been barely a year or so..and...i havent listened to born sinner in a while, in months. meanwhile im picking up on hidden contexts in yeezus songs, im in awe in a lot of kanyes videos, and truth be told..kanye is unique in a lot of aspects. just like how Kendrick cited wayne as a influence, i am not surprised at all that gambino cited kanye. if we're lucky, these 2 amongst countless others, can bring true definintion to a genre of music that sometimes struggles to be deep, but at times is deeper and 1000000x more intelligent then any other genre
When I think of Albums, Man on the Moon 1&2 come to mind. Those albums take you on a trip from start to finish. I get the same vibe from Yeezus and Watching Movies With The Sound Off. They have a distinct sound that separates them from the average rappers. Gambino is an artist. The average nigga can't understand artist which is why they get called weird or crazy all the time.
Thought him of looking or acting gay never even came to mind at all watching this interview..then I come to the comment section and see this shit. Y'all are vibe killers!!
Don't get me wrong, there are way better rappers than Childish Gambino, but he's pretty far removed from all the bullshit that comes with mainstream rappers. It's refreshing to see someone that humble even if he is a little pretentious.
It’s funny because the music is definitely meant to be hard or atleast is trying to be hard and Donald is just super chill and really personal with what he’s talking about. The contrast is pretty funny.
Be confident in yourself Gambino, your lack of confidence comes across in your music. It's not a bad thing to believe in yourself, Lord knows we all need to believe in something
Gambino doesn't fit the archetype of most rappers that get radio play and because of that, he gets all this hate and all this shit for it. Rap and Hip Hop become less about the culture, built on being on the outside and going through hardships to trivial bullshit about how a raper is too soft, or that his songs don't have a crazy beat. Being the best in the game is still widely and arguably the most apparent thing in Hip Hop now while the actual culture is being lost or at lease being hugely misinterpreted. Being better than someone else takes precedence over what you actually put out. Being better is definitely important and should be taken seriously but when it over shadows everything else it takes away from what Hip Hop is.
can we all agree that yeah at one point kanye west was one of the most promising talents in hip hop but because of his ego he is now sliding off. and think about it. if youre trying to climb the ladder like Donald would you really want to say anything bad about kanye if youre not as recognized as him. if Donald said anything negative about kanye, people would say that Donald hasn't made that big of an impact to say something like that
eh, i dunno. i still think he's a big impact right now. i mean the whole thing he did with Yeezus, how amazing the experience of the tour was, the Red Octobers that are (supposed to be) coming out? i mean yeah the ego thing is really annoying, i've always hated cocky people myself. but with Kanye.. i dont know, it makes Kanye, Kanye. it works in a weird way.
The funny part is Gambino is openly talking about being more secure and saying exactly whats on his mind. He clearly loves Kanye. If he wanted to say something bad about him...he would have. He truly believes that Kanye is as awesome as he said in the video. I would even go on to contend that Gambino would say that Kanye is probably his biggest inspiration in terms of being more than a rapper and actually being an artist...and achieving a level of fearlessness and security. Of course that view of Kanye is skewed because Kanye displays characteristics of someone who is extremely insecure. However, Kanye's ego allows him to say and do whatever he pleases, while blinding him to his own thoughts, thus creating the "fearless", egotistical persona we know today.
I disagree, tbh I think he looks up towards Kanye because he's able to do what he pleases, and a lot of people nowadays are so constricted and feel obliged to do things they don't want to. Like I don't see why people hate Kanye or anyone for that matter, never disliked JB ever, but a lot of people do or did.. it's a shame really.
Critics love Kanye. Kanye is still making great stuff. Just because you are stuck in a little box doesn't mean Kanye isn't putting out hot shit. It is obvious that Kanye influences Gambino.
he's the only celebrity i wish i could not only meet but have an actual meaningful conversation with as well. his current mindstate is intriguing... you can see such a change between his latest interviews and his past ones.
like like like like like i feel like, your like, like like, everyones like, like, like, like, its just about like, Im really scared like, of being alone like
I think the word "like" is a symptom of insecurity, and "I think" is also. Like and I think imply uncertainty. He's try to say he is uncertain of the answers he's giving to her questions. I think it's more real, because the things he was talking about are ambiguous. Meaning behind songs and creativity in general are open to interpretations, and Glover uses the words like and I think to imply that just because he thinks in a certain way, there are more answers out there that he is open to. He seems like a humble guy.
That's how I feel about albums ... I think he's right .. Feel like some artist are forced to do albums and sometimes they do sloppy jobs because they don't want to do it.
Who cares if his clothes look gay. The question is that he's wearing the exact same outfit on Arsenio Hall and in that one short film he made earlier this year. Does he not own any other clothes?
i like how nobody likes him because he's not all gangster and cocky. i actually like that he raps really well and speaks like he's educated rather than some stupid wannabe gangster.
Firstly, saying that 'nobody likes him' is a bit of an uhm... what's the word? EXAGGERATION my good friend. If you haven't recognized, Childish is bigger than ever at this point. More recognition in all fields of his talent than ever before. He's on the verge of becoming SUPER STAR FAMOUS from his FANS which stand for EVERYBODY. NOBODY who? Who are these NOBODIES YOU SPEAK OF? (Please try to understand my next statement secondly)... Sometimes the reason someone dislikes an artist is DEEPER than just the way they speak or sound. You like the fact that he speaks educatedly with good etiquette correct? Well so do I, but I'm not the biggest fan of Gambino--- YET I dislike ghetto ganster wannabes (also) sir. I just feel like your first statement doesn't tie in properly with your second one because people like him for him... regardless of how he speaks, or not being a 'wannabe gangster.' And not every guy that speaks GUNS is trying to behave ignorantly, sometimes it's all they know.

Edison Verdugo It was a freestyle on hot 97 where he is wearing a Hawaiian color shirt it says Rosenberg.
0:24 "When you first wake up, you're still close to who you really are."
Damn!
Exactly my man knows Kanye!
Dude you are so chilled! Serenity is the I got for you. Keep at it.
childish gambino is probably one of my favorite music/comedy/writers I know
You know him?
Jake Tonder duh he's madara
"Like really like kind of like like really I just don't like" LMFAOOOOOO
Right like.
I watched this video twice and counted that Childish Gambino said the word "like" *exactly 70 times*, during this interview.
That was the worst analogy I've ever heard.
How so?
Dont leave me hanging. Explain why you think so
I concur with your first statement.
If you steal shit you are a thieve plain and simple, it doesn't matter how often you do it or who you do it with
Okay here's my point.
I wish this interview took place around Awaken, My Love!
I want him to create one of those worlds. To fabricate an entire fairytale based on music, that I could live in for a lifetime in and of itself. I want to live in a world created by Donald. PLEASE, do this. I believe in your work.
I thought it was just me
Watch Atlanta
Marshall Kell unfortunately now for the next 4 years youre going to have to live in a world controlled by Donald... Trump
Marshall Kell he did this with because the internet
I think when a$ap rocky was saying ''I know you want to be me but its funny I want to be you'' he missed out the word in
HAHAH omgg
crazy how we went from poindexter to pharos! keep working on ur craft 😌thank you Donald
Keep on doing what u do
Bino prophesying PHAROS at 1:30
Maybe I'm just high but I didn't really notice how many times he said "like". I was paying more attention to the underlying message instead of being distracted by his filler words. Thinking about it now, maybe he says "like" to filter out anyone that's not really paying attention lol. This interview is a gem 💎
"YOU DON'T HAVE THE ANSWERS SWAY!"
dude is Crazy talented
B NYCe seen his new song?
whats it called?
B NYCe it's called me and your mama
the amount of the word "like", said by donald glover is too damn high.
lmao gambino's shirts inside out
lol
I know this is an old comment but he was probably wearing that shirt for a couple of days and decided he could squeeze a few more days out of it by flipping it inside out
@@AmericanNerdLife That's dumb cause the must is all out lol
He isn't even close to gay, but he dresses like the biggest prep you'll ever see.
I feel like more fame changed him for here saying he would never diss anyone as lightly as that to him saying he's better than Kendrick???
He can be pretty arrogant in his old songs, still love him though
Robert Garcia I'm having s very difficult time trying to understand what you are trying to say. My brain hurts.
Robert Garcia he never said he wouldnt diss he said he wouldnt compare himself to other rappers like like like asap did
He is better than Kendrick
loving the sony dmx in the background. excellent board, superb eqs and comps.
In the morning, you havent thought about life's pressures and you're the most you... That is so inspirational
Hinting at Pharos Earth hardcore
Nah
Until Then no he was working on Because The Internet at the time.
the crazy thing people who are fans of people dont understand is..why people are fans of people. maybe to you kanye is meh whatevs, but kanye is the definintion of do and say what you want. kanye lives how he wants, and when he puts out music, its sometimes hard to just classify it as one genre. my friend told me yeezus is ahead of its time, and i laughed that comment off, because i didnt like the album, compared to j coles born sinner album, but its been barely a year or so..and...i havent listened to born sinner in a while, in months. meanwhile im picking up on hidden contexts in yeezus songs, im in awe in a lot of kanyes videos, and truth be told..kanye is unique in a lot of aspects. just like how Kendrick cited wayne as a influence, i am not surprised at all that gambino cited kanye. if we're lucky, these 2 amongst countless others, can bring true definintion to a genre of music that sometimes struggles to be deep, but at times is deeper and 1000000x more intelligent then any other genre
Very nice!
Yeah, great artists tend to be greeted with bafflement at first.
It's refreshing to see someone that humble even if he is a little pretentious.
im a big fan of Childish Gambino but he needs to stop saying "Like"
REAL TALK 100 No it isn't lol
i cant believe he said that about the dreams....mind blown!
lmao you guys down there are getting mad when someone mentions kanye
When he said "I don't want to do albums" I honestly thought he meant, like... he doesn't want to do albums.
lol
It’s funny because the music is definitely meant to be hard or atleast is trying to be hard and Donald is just super chill and really personal with what he’s talking about. The contrast is pretty funny.
i feel bad for childish. Dude seems like he's in a bad place these days. hope BTI helps him work through it
omg whenever someone says "I want to make worlds" I always think it goes so unnoticed how significant that is
Be confident in yourself Gambino, your lack of confidence comes across in your music. It's not a bad thing to believe in yourself, Lord knows we all need to believe in something
Gambino has an interesting mind. Respect, the fact that he admitted being so insecure is a testament to his character.
Being better is definitely important and should be taken seriously but when it over shadows everything else it takes away from what Hip Hop is.
imagine doing an interview and having the title of it be something that you talked about for less than 10 seconds
can we all agree that yeah at one point kanye west was one of the most promising talents in hip hop but because of his ego he is now sliding off. and think about it. if youre trying to climb the ladder like Donald would you really want to say anything bad about kanye if youre not as recognized as him. if Donald said anything negative about kanye, people would say that Donald hasn't made that big of an impact to say something like that
eh, i dunno. i still think he's a big impact right now. i mean the whole thing he did with Yeezus, how amazing the experience of the tour was, the Red Octobers that are (supposed to be) coming out?
i mean yeah the ego thing is really annoying, i've always hated cocky people myself. but with Kanye.. i dont know, it makes Kanye, Kanye. it works in a weird way.
Freezy Yeeus was a Death Grips bite though, maybe Ye's well of creativity is running dry.
It is obvious that Kanye influences Gambino.
he's the only celebrity i wish i could not only meet but have an actual meaningful conversation with as well. his current mindstate is intriguing... you can see such a change between his latest interviews and his past ones.
like like like like like i feel like, your like, like like, everyones like, like, like, like, its just about like, Im really scared like, of being alone like
Yo that is why he's on top with the highest ranking artists and you are on rock bottom
Lol triggered... He does say like a lot tho
People who are insecure tend to say "like","you know","I think".
i feel the same way as a musician. Its so hard to be confident in your self all of the time
Heartbeat is the best song in like a decade.
That's how I feel about albums ... I think he's right .. Feel like some artist are forced to do albums and sometimes they do sloppy jobs because they don't want to do it.
i blame drake
bro i just realized how much he says “like”
i really feel like him and the interviewer were going to make out at 1:14
+CHILDISH OREO Thats what you get when you watch too much porn my man
Who else would have preferred hearing him freestyle over the fuse news beat, than do this interview?
Donald wears the same outfit in like every interview lol
It was because he's in character. He's playing the boy. That's the boys outfit from the album
This interview was filmed in Sound Clash Recordings Studio in Chelsea, Manhattan, New York City
Who cares if his clothes look gay. The question is that he's wearing the exact same outfit on Arsenio Hall and in that one short film he made earlier this year. Does he not own any other clothes?
And?
He doesn’t believe in albums and then he’s goes on to realise 3.15.20. Genius
how childish is this man? answer: gambino
You can feel it in the streets
On a day like this, the heat
It feel like summer
i like how nobody likes him because he's not all gangster and cocky.
i actually like that he raps really well and speaks like he's educated rather than some stupid wannabe gangster.
You, my sir... need to THINK before you TYPE!
elaborate. because i don't know which part of my statement you disagree with.
MrDuder666
He's an idiot who can't elaborate.
Nimbus Cloud makes sense.
The amounts of time he said LIKE is how many years I will live.
