Guitarchampion!
What are your favorite guitar players from the 2000s? Let me know in the comments!
Tosin Abasi
@@zzzzzz69 I don‘t really see Tosin as a Player from the 2000s. More from the 2010s 🫠😂 I think the first AAL record was released 2009. I wasn‘t aware of him till 2011 or 2012
Christian Muenzner and Muhammad Suiçmez
@@vetagainsttrump16 I also said Muhammad Suicmez after the first comment, but the comment didn't appear so +1
Jimmy Rosenberg 😂
The Trivium guys were some of my favorites (The Crusade 🙌🏻) and I remember particularly digging Chris Storey’s (Rusty Cooley alum) work in All Shall Perish.
Clicked just because that album in the miniature was FIRE
Thank you for putting this together. I have the same sentiment as you have on Rusty Cooley’s album vs John Mayer’s discography.😅
Mid to late 80s for me. Jason Becker and Marty Friedman were fabulous. Cacophony was shred madness in the best way
Yes, it was
I love Rusty Cooley's solo album. As far as "emotion" goes, it seems like many people only believe one single interpretation of one single emotion is valid to express on guitar. For my money, seeing slow bendy pentatonics as the only valid form of emotional expression belies a primitive range of emotional and intellectual depth.
I was obsessively listening Dragonforce at the time, shredwise. I can name a lot of players but I was into Dragonforce and Andy James more than anything. I was totally in love with Vai and Satriani's music but I never call that shred. It was good times though! And of course, I was blown away by Jeff Loomis when I saw the videos of him playing with Ola Englund and Keith Merrow. Damn, good times..
Agreed with everything.
Like you said there's nothing wrong about bands with similar sounds to DT in fact Circus Maximus, Seventh Wonder, Camelot, DGM were so good back then.
7:00 hilarious and excellent
Rusty Cooley is my favorite guitar player ever, and he's super underrated (even though he isn't unknown or anything) so it's nice to see him getting some appreciation. And personally I think his solo album and outworld are two of the most emotional and well written albums ever.
Those Guthrie vids were absolutely incredible, and still are, I must have watched them 10 times per day for a few years back in the day 😅 The club was called the Basement, in Chelmsford, and his band at the time the Fellowship :)
Hello Justin, great video! Other great bands with great shred (symphonic and neoclassical) are:
Labyrinth, Vision Divine and Shadow Gallery... I bet You will like them!
Nice Video , but I think in Brazil they don‘t speak Spanish ….
Die Kadse... was ein Racker!
I missed the John Petrucci forum era because I was active on the Racer X board at the time 🤣
Congratulations on the Alkaloid gig... Good luck
Hallo Justin...ich habe mich tatsächlich damals fast jeden Tag in diesem Forum aufgehalten. War ne geile Zeit...meine Heros waren/sind Petrucci und Michael Romeo.
I think Syu from Galneryus is Luca Turilli but better in everyway, better solos and technique can be claimed as "sloppy" but it's so consistent it's basically his "style" at this point
I believe Brazilian speak PORTUGUESE ❤
Best era is now and I'm from the 80s.
whenever i see the erotic cake album cover, even when it's blurred, I click
Cats are the most metal of all pets.
Love the cat tail. Looked like a snake. lol
How did Alexi Laiho not make this list or Jari Maenpa?
Not to much into COB 😬😬
Die Frage ist nun was macht Loomis nach Arch Enemy? :-D
Justin - do you remember Joel Wanasek? Those were some dark age days of the internet!
Where is Igor paspalj man
13:27 you can't even pronounce it with the best language
