No matter how long it takes you, 3 years or 3 months, as long as you have fun with it and strive for improvement then it's a great sketchbook either way 😌
Shooot! You've just opened some deeply forgotten vault in my brains. I've had a book with fairytale for every 365 days, and one of the stories was tale about lilttle boy who's sister had a sketchbook he envied, so he started to copy her drawings to his. Then this girl got mad and hide the sketchbook away. He cried 'cause he couldn't be so creative by himself. Yet the drawings felt bad for him, so they all escaped from the girl's sketchbook to his, but rearranged as a new pictures' cause they had escape chaotic so she didn't catch them. So he had his drawings and she filled her sketchbook with new ones... Your syle reminds me so much of drawings in that book 😍
@Erica Sanchez-Barrera I do, but it's in Polish and orginal is German. I don't know what language versions they also made. It's "Sandmännlein erzählt Geschichten für 365 Tage"
The way you draw cartoony and then realistically XD I love the duality of ur art. Keep doing you, Chris Hong!! Your fans love you for your originality!!!
You're one of the only artist that still use a regular pencil! I get so tired of seeing people using colored pencils or pens ect. I mean it's nice but I want someone to relate to on RUclips! And for that, you're awesome!
It's okay if it took a long time to finish, that doesn't make you less of an amazing artist. We see your incredible skill sets through all of your creations. You're a brilliant artist Chris, I look up to your work so much!!
Oh gosh this is SOOOO inspirational!!! For me, I started art as just sort of second hobby and to learn other ways I can let out my creativity. It's been somewhat challenging since I started drawing the last year, but watching these types of videos and other videos I am learning how artists practice their craft and keep drawing daily while practicing certain things too. Like with perspective, drawing characters from different angles, etc. Overall, your video has inspired me to keep sketching no matter the result and to take everything in as a learning as well as a fun experience!
I truly hope you can see the value in yourself and the work you create... your line weight, the way you convey form and depth in your figures and emotion in the characters is incredible. Your technical skill is some of the most advanced I've ever seen. I hope you know that!
Your technical skills and style are absolutely phenomenal! I'm blown away. You can tell just how many years of studies and exploration went behind each of your drawings.
I was so happy when you uploaded!! Even if all the drawings are not your favorites, I still love each and every one of them ❤️ I can’t wait to finish the video!!! Also the stickers are so cute 🥰
Omg yes!!! I’ve been waiting sooooo long for this! I’ve rewatched your last sketchbook tour over and over just waiting patiently for a new one, and I must say every second was worth it 😍😍
Ur art always puts a smile on my face cause they’re so warm😌, childlike and unique in a way dat I can’t explain I think this sketchbook is definitely worth those 3 yrs...it’s soo inspiring ☺️✨
Did I just sit here and watch an hour long video of someone’s sketchbook… yes, yes I did 😂 I always feel so pressured to have my sketchbook look good with all finished pieces but this just inspired me to just be loose and have fun. I love that it’s in pencil bc it truly is a SKETCH book and just a means for practice/planning which I think is a concept that gets forgotten when people like me feel pressured to make things perfect. Thank you for this 🖤
I absolutely adore your sketches, and seeing your finished book was such a treat. Ty for sharing! (Anyone else hoping Chris publishes a book of her sketches? )
You are to hard on yourself. You have no clue of how talented you are and how much joy you give people by sharing your art. You make me want to start drawing again.
Hi Chris! This video was such a pleasure to watch, I was wondering if you were planning on making an updated anatomy video? I’d love to see what references and books you refer to when exploring and learning anatomy. Can’t wait for your book and congratulations!
I love your pencil drawings! This is rare for me! Usually pages without any colours might make me feel boring, but your drawing is an exceptional! I love how you build an human figure, they always remind me marionette which I think is adorable! Also, I like the way you shade the characters! I think you show me how important it is to shade in the values in a drawing, it seems like they can really make a huge difference! I am a fan now! Really! The sketchbook is amazing!
I love seeing your process and your art style is so inspiring. Bringing up that a part of art is appeasing your younger self; something clicked in my head and know thats what i've been trying to do. Anytime I see your art, my mind surges with similar styles/influences, BUT I could pick out yours from a crowd. And I love it.
I really like that you made so many spreads with just enamel pin designs. Even if you didn't plan on making any of them a reality, they all look wonderful and well thought out. I especially love the idea of using your seal mermay piece into a pin and even all the underwater pals idea (the seal, seahorse, and heart-eyed whale and all others looked lovely placed next to each other and a clear enough shape design to be shrunk down and still understandable). Love your work and can't wait to see more.
When I was a child, there were like newspapers for kids in which the characters had the same eyes you drew on the pages where you designed the pins and the sea creatures. It reminded me of my childhood :D so cool :D your ideas are just a drop of my childhood :D
You're truly my favorite artist I think. I loved watching this so so so much. It makes me feel happy, comfortable and inspired. I have to wait until after my finals to draw anything though. I love the way you plan your paintings. Super cool and visually pleasing.
Must admit that I tend to stay away from these "long" showcase videos but to be honest, it was worth the time spent. Great drawings in your lovely sketchbook.
I love this sketchbook!!! 3 years sounds long, but all pages are full, and all the drawings are so good, full of ideas that you can always go back for painting.
Chris: *opens first page* >> first page is blank Donni: PERFECTION But seriously, these are so beautiful!! I especially love the studies, and i like how the illustration comps are so loose ~
I am impressed! You had a lot of patience to make a 3 year long sketchbook! And love the pencil drawings, cannot help but feel satisfied looking at them! More videos please!
I just discovered you’re channel when looking for water color tutorials and by golly I look up to you now. How you go about making art, your thoughts during the process, and how you views on your own, it’s all fun to hear about.
These all look amazing! And im getting so inspired, and ive never had an interest in clown themed art but these suddenly makes me really interested in those kind of styles (sorry for messy writing)
will you be making a video about how your course in animation was? taking it next year and i am super nervous! maybe you could share a few works or some tips?
ugh I would love to but I just never know how to even begin talking about big topics like that😅 one day I should really sit down and plan out those kinds of videos! best of luck to you, hopefully by that time next year you won't have to deal with the virus! >
It took me 3 weeks but I finished the video! haahha I wanted to pay full attention bc the drawings were so well dome that it took me this long... haha Nice drawings! I really like all the clowns and your strokes between the clothes and no clothes areas are interesting to see.
Very gorgeous stuff! Too much that I enjoyed to single out, but I will say that I was very interested in seeing the partner piece to the clown that was rendered a little more flatly (you remarked how they'd look good in a bathroom). The simpler approach lent itself well to your work if you ever find yourself wanting to explore more of that as much as I do sincerely enjoy the watercolor + colored pencil combo.
You're so hardworking and artistic! This is the first video I've seen of yours, I will subscribe I think^^ thank you for inspiring to draw in my sketchbook as well, I haven't touched it for months :)
You seriously need to scan all these pages and turn this into a book. I would buy three in a heartbeat I'm serious
ME TOO! its gorgeous!
Me too
Absolutely agree!
i’d rip pages out and hang them around my desk then place the book on my special shelf where i only keep my jewellery since it’s treasure worthy.
Yes! That would be amazing 🤩
No matter how long it takes you, 3 years or 3 months, as long as you have fun with it and strive for improvement then it's a great sketchbook either way 😌
Lol you watch her too 😂 isn’t she amazing!
@@SarasStudio yes her art is so inspiring and unique!
I’m happy to hear that because I’ve had the same sketchbook since 2014.. 💀
@@jenn3763 😭😭🤚
@@SarasStudio lol this is hilarious, I know both you MelonDoodle AND Minty’s Sketchbook 😂. I was thinking the same thing: “You watch her too!?”
I just love how you shade 🥺 it always looks like the characters would lay in the sun
I agree. I was just thinking the same thing. Love the shading.
Shading is core!
Sameeee
It’s so cool to see how your style has changed, but also stayed the same. Your mark making is so distinctive.

49:32 The figure with the hands on her face is so emotive! I haven't kept a sketchbook in years and this is motivating me to change that.
I love the way you do your clowns and the fairy mermaid elf vibes.

The way you draw cartoony and then realistically XD I love the duality of ur art. Keep doing you, Chris Hong!! Your fans love you for your originality!!!
That was the biggest sketchbook tour I've ever seen so many pages
I’m so envious of your ability to draw such great forms and poses. Your design choices are so nice I hope to one day achieve such a level of design 😌🌟

It’s something about your art style. It’s like those precious moments dolls so pretty
You're one of the only artist that still use a regular pencil! I get so tired of seeing people using colored pencils or pens ect. I mean it's nice but I want someone to relate to on RUclips! And for that, you're awesome!

Brilliant and amazing!
I’m getting so many ideas it’s not even funny 😁
My English is very bad, but I want to say, your art style is so amazing. The characters are pretty and wonderful
