For several years I've tried everything possible to find out why the microphone on my HP Envy x360 has never worked - sound settings, HP Support, Google, RUclips - all without success. This is the first time I have seen this possible reason. Regardless of whether it applies to my own laptop, this is an excellent bit of information. Thank you very much 👍

Thank you!!! Absolutely helpful solution!! I had exactly the same problem: these little stickers were correctly attached, but the transparent glue sheet on the rear was obstructing the mics.

Thanks for the video. I had 2 zoom meetings this week both of which my microphone did not work. My only clue was that someone could hear when I set something down on my desk. Thanks you very much! I formatted my laptop, updating drivers, bios, used HP solutions softwares, check wiring in the motherboard and... it was just the microphone covered.
Now works really fine

Exactly as you said. Much Tx. One of the highlighted features of this model was 'B&O Audio' and having this silly mic problem , literally killed it.
HP should have recalled all, for this wider spread issue.

I've been struggling with my microphone for a couple years now. Upsetting considering how much I paid for this laptop. But I just tested with your tapping test, and I have exactly the same issue. Also I played some loud James Brown music directly into the top of my screen, and it recorded!! Thank you Bro

I have the same problem with my hp pavilion x360 convertible 15-er0007ur. I bought it just 4 days ago. I will give it back and ask them to fix. Because I don't wan't to lost the warrenty. But now I am 100% sure that the problem is the sticker. Thanks so much

Thank you buddy, I resolved the mic issue after watching your video. It was the two rubbers over the microphone was covering the mics.

I had this exact issue on a pc I was working on today. Thought for sure the mics were dead except I could get a "thump" if I hit the top of the screen. Thanks!

I would leave them. They direct sound from the hole in bezel straight to the mic

I don't want to sound dumb but this is my first computer I'm working on. Problem now is the microphone pick up all sounds. From typing or even running my fingers over the hole. Is there a solution. New drivers?
