    The problem I've been having is the trimming. I'll try this knife card technique.
    Lately I've been cutting or. Ripping off a corner because of the two ends splitting from razor

    • @KaliBlaz
      @KaliBlaz 2 года назад +2

      that's because you are probably leaving way too much excess film on the edges when you cut it, try to leave just about one inch not more than that, it help with trimming at the end and your film dosent rip on the corners. more crease to deal with in the corners more chances to rip them out.

    Hello, I have watched about five videos on installing window film and it looked like you peeled the clear backing off from your side/away from the window?? Which makes it look really easy but everyone else says the adhesive side (the side the clear pulls away from) goes against the window? Does it matter? Thank you for your video.

    • @slcantu
      @slcantu Год назад +1

      He first separated the liner then wet the roll so the liner would stick to the roll when the films gets unrolled the liner gets removed and is actually being transferred simultaneously to the opposite side of the film, the non sticky side. So it looks like he is removing the liner once the film is on the glass when actually the liner is already removed from the glue side so it’s just clinging to the non sticky side so he just discards it. The sticky side or glue side goes on the glass so you’re correct.

    • @Zoli_ExhibitPrinting
      @Zoli_ExhibitPrinting 5 лет назад +1

      @@igormaric7866 he used a technique that meant as he dropped the roll, and it made that lovely sound, the release liner was actually removing its self and switching to the other side of the film. Next level move!

    • @exhibitprintingltd4334
      @exhibitprintingltd4334 5 лет назад

      Mark Kruger I don’t disagree, and I have also tested and failed to replicate his technique. But at the 3min mark he is peeling back the film, so we know it is a standard film, then he drops the roll in one action, and then he removes the clear backing liner that is sitting towards the bottom of the window, in front of the film. At no point does he stick his arm behind and peel it back, or flip it over and remove it, then flip it back. I will work it out, and will report back :-)

      You can either precut your panes exactly with a film handler, or you could master the art of freehand cutting and not cut a bondo to guide you, or the glass could be tinted before installed in the frames.

    film applied..looks flawless....but then streaks appeared hours later...what did I do wrong?

    • @ianbreeze5309
      @ianbreeze5309 4 года назад +2

      That streaky appearance is part of the curing / drying process. After application there is a thin layer of water left under the film that needs to dry out via evaporation. Just leave it alone and it'll be all dry in 3 - 7 days.

      12-inch squeegee, credit card, Auto store Blue shop towels, spray bottle with a little bit of dish soap and water, make sure you soak the window and the back of the film pretty good before you lay it all the window it'll help position it better, you're going to have to get all the air bubbles out. He made it look easy, but you're going to have to go over it a few more times to get all the air bubbles out before it actually dries.
