- Welcome to another video where today I unbox the HP Pavilion All in one 24-XA1007NA PC. I also show how to connect everything together and get the machine up and running.

Finally a great video for those of us who are not technically minded, thank you. I couldn't find this exact model, but looking at the 24-k0017na, which looks almost the same, so presumably any differences would be minor.

@@catz4life365 To me it keeps cool. I do render videos on the machine and the fan can start whirring a bit which is understandable but on the whole it is fine.

It's laptop dressed up as an all-in-one. Upside is bigger screen and better resolution.
One thing I do like about HP's is the audio quality on their laptops, it's nice to see they have done the same here as well.
My only slight quibble with this model would be the screen does look super reflective, but other than that, as long as you have an ssd it will run reasonably well.

I had to chose between imac or this one . I chose this one. Even though I could of gotten the I mac for same price at best buy. But I'm not ready for apple life just yet.
I'm thinking of selling my macbook pro to buy one of these and pay the rest of my macbook off with the extra money, im not sure ;/

My imac died shortly after the warranty period and so did my mabook pro
getting this for 70 bucks this week hehehe its going to be awesome. I wanted the 27 inch pavilion or envy. idk the difference but this will only be under 100 bucks and the others will be around 1400 bucks.

Hello , is there keyboard backlight?
Did you set up your wifi or skip it in the setup process being that your not using Macafee and not having any viris protection?

One question - I'm looking to purchase this model but just wanted to know if it would be possible connecting a games console (PS4 OR XBOX). I can see it has an HDMI IN and OUT port on the back so I dont see why it would not work.
I emailed the HP sales team and they said a ps4 would not work which has really confused me.
Are you able to offer any advice or test if a games console would work on this?

I have the same computer and I would like to install it on a mount arm however it does not have a VESA mount. Any recommendations on how to mount?

Hi. No it does not. I use an external usb one if needed which these days is rare.
does it have good viewing angles... i hope it doesn't fade off axis.

Great video. Is it very heavy - say if one were to collect it from Currys and bring it home by train?
Also, do you find that the bottom white chunk distracts your eyes whilst using the pc for general use, editing videos, and watching videos?

Hi Ash, It weighs 5.59Kg and with the box and packaging you are looking at just under 6 Kilos. My box had hand holes so it was easy to carry. The bottom "white chunk" doesn't distract my eyes in any way (in my opinion). I'm really pleased with the machine as it does everything I need - I use it mainly for editing videos, surfing the web, spreadsheets and some gaming - but not high end ones. Hope that helps! Is the one in this video the HP Pavilion 24-xa1008na or HP Pavilion 24-xa1007na model? The 2 look very similar, priced very similar, but have a few different specs.

Is the monitor height fixed, or can it be adjusted up and down a bit? I don't mean tilted up and down I mean properly raised or lowered?
No. You cannot adjust the height.
@@bluebirdlegend Cheers. Shame, I've just ordered a very similar model and it looks like I'll have to raise a shelf up the wall to accommodate it above my desk.

@@bluebirdlegend Mine arrived earlier today and it seems to have a weird bug where the clock keeps changing itself to 7 hours in the future, even after installing the new BIOS and running Windows Update. Does yours have that problem too?
@@8bitnitwit I did - for the first week or so. Make sure you have the correct time zone and region set in control panel. Also I think the HP software did an automatic update which updated the bios (like yours?). Also made sure windows updates are up to date which they are - don't wait for the updates force them through yourself. I have my date / time now set to automatic. Hope this helps!
@@bluebirdlegend Thanks! I think it's fixed now, I've turned automatic clock updates back on and so far it's keeping the right time again. I couldn't find anything in the documentation for if there's away of swapping the function key settings around, i.e. they default to being F1 F2 etc without having to hold down the Fn key. Any ideas? Loving the computer so far otherwise!
@@8bitnitwit I've had a quick look online and HP laptops have the same function which can be changed in the BIOS. Not sure about the all-in-one though. Perhaps in the BIOS also?

Does this model come with a discreet video graphics GPU?
This model was made from 2018 september to 2019 july. I have one with a GeForce GTX1050 card with 4Gb of dedicated vRAM, made by nVidia. HP also sold it with other discrete graphics cards, but they sell completely different modells in 2020.
It looks beautifull, im about to purchase one but still not sure if it's too big for my desk, so can you tell me the dimensions of the stand ?

can I use this for gaming??
Hi Rich. Some games will work - I have Age of Empires and Football Manager running on it fine. If you are into PC gaming in a big way then i'd probably go for a dedicated gaming PC.
Can you run steam on this even with an i5 proccesor?
Adam Lowther yes I think so. Will need to test. Camera shoots in wide mode though. Skype and zoom work great.
Is word, Excel, etc. on it or do i have to buy it extra
No. I had to install MS Office on it (I bought the computer from Currys)

bluebirdlegend thanks. It’s currently back up to £750 on Curry’s so perhaps an Easter deal has just ended. Seems quite a good spec at the lower price.

Ali Taee it covers all my needs. I use it’s for web surfing, photoshop, video editing, word processing, spreadsheets and a couple of games. I guess it would be able to handle roblox? But you would have to check the recommended specs to run the game.

I know. Seems the tech firms are pushing everything to a more cloud based system in everything. Take TV for instance it’s now all about streaming. You could always buy an external drive?

No it’s all self contained in the monitor chassis hence “all in one”

Yes either by the headphone jack or USB. With regard to games I have Age of Empires running on it fine but I would check the requirements of each individual game for making any purchase. Thanks for watching!

Yes, I have Age of Empires and Atari Vault installed. You will have to check the specifications required for individual games though I guess.
