This forms are different from the AF EFMP forms & they are also named differently. My husband is in Patch & can't wait to be with him. My son needed a medical screening & educational form to verify if he was in any sort of special education program. Spouses, make sure to check if the forms that you are filling out are for service member's branch. I would advice to speak with the EFMP in the country that you are trying to PCS to because I was getting so much wrong info from the office at my local base. They said we only needed the physical and the EFMP in Germany would get the info from the system, which was wrong! We emailed back & forth with the correct EFMP office & they sent us the forms. Also if you have a POA, you can enroll yourself & the rest of your dependents without the service member, my husband was already in Germany and had to do a POA through a local public notary that did virtual meetings & I just had to pick it up. Now we're just waiting on the response! But I agree, is extremely stressful.

Hi! We did all of this during Covid so it was a bit quicker. I would assume 2 months is plenty of time. Just make sure you’re keeping in contact with all of the offices helping you through it!

We were very rushed because of COVID, but a couple weeks. It could be longer. I think it just depends on where you’re going.

Hi! What did you submit to immigration officer when you leave the country?
I’m a foreign living in Brazil and my husband is already stationed overseas and we want to add me to his orders, what should we do?
I’ll be honest, I‘m not exactly sure. You will have to have your husband reach out to EFMP here or DEERS.
Do they dig to find medical records or do they just go off of what you state?
Because my PCS was right when COVID began, I had a call where I answered questions. I assume you have to go in to your PCM now so I‘m sure it’s more extensive.
what do i get the quarantine action plan done?
What are the forms that need to be submitted to the new duty station? Just the EFMP forms?
Yes, you will submit your EFMP paperwork through your closest EFMP office! They will let you know what forms they need.
Does the sm have to be there with the spouse for the efmp process. (Getting deployed and wont be there to help my wife)
I did not need him to be there for my screening, but to be sure your wife can turn in all of the paperwork without you I would get a POA!
Where can I do the EFMP screening in Texas?
You will need to call the EFMP office at your closest military base. They will be able to help with everything!
I got orders to report to Korea in 4 months and was considering marrying my partner. Is that too short of a time frame to get everything done
I‘m not sure about Korea, but I know people who have gotten it done for Germany that quickly!
Hi!! In the middle of EFMP/ command sponsorship. Our package says that the 5888 is completed and with the losing installation. How much longer should we expect to wait?
All that is left is for approval from your gaining instillation so it should not take long at all. Our situation was a little different because it was rushed during Covid. It took a few days. I would say a week or two at the latest. My best advice would be to keep in touch with your losing EFMP office if you don’t hear back in the next week or so.

okay i need some help.... i am at ait right now in the army and have orders to camp casey Korea. my spouse has a heart condition and some other medical issues that may prefent her from coming with me. we were married over hbl so she isn't on my orders and camp casey doesn't allow you to bring spouses. i have started my prosses with efmp to see if they can help me because i am her main care giver. will they change my orders to another base or am i just out of luck. looking for help with this. i pcs in about 2 months.
I'm so sorry, I just saw this! I personally cannot answer that question as I've never dealt with this! I hope everything is all figured out! If not, I would definitely talk to your leadership and see if they can help you get some answers! Again, so sorry I am so late in responding!
How long does it take to get your spouse to your duty station overseas?
We moved together! It is dependent on a lot of things. I know some people who got married and moved overseas in a couple months and others that have been quicker!
My husband got stationed to Japan. And my name is on his order. I ‘m pregnant 6months now. So, I have to go to Japan ASAP. I submitted my overseas screening paperwork as well as other documents to get command sponsorship. Do you know when I get command sponsorship?
If your name is already on his orders, you should already have command sponsorship!

Hello my husband is navy his ship is changing ports , he will only have 2 years. Do you happen to know the requirements for command sponsorship, like the time commitment?
“Soldiers who are approved for Command Sponsorship must complete a 3-year accompanied tour in USAREUR, which starts on the day Command Sponsorship is approved.”
This is what I found for the Army. I’m assuming it is similar for other branches. I would try and have your SM call the EFMP office where they are and ask to be 100% sure.

Can you just go to any doctor for medical?
I don’t believe so. Contact your closest military hospital or EFMP office to get a definite answer.
What all does the physical consist of?
Because of COVID, mine was over the phone 🙃 They basically asked about anxiety/depression, but if you’ve had any previous medical problems they will probably ask about that as well. I’m not sure how it would be in person, but I would assume it’s just like any other physical!
What if you signed unaccompanied orders but you still want them to come with you?
You will get amended orders once you complete the command sponsorship process!
@@AshleyVering I have gotten so much contradicting information 😭 I called the efmp office and they said I had to get the orders amended before getting command sponsorship.
That’s interesting! You can’t get amended orders without completing the EFMP process so maybe that’s what they mean by command sponsorship??? Ugh I hate that for you.
