Yes yes Finally !Larkin Poe, they are both sisters been around for a long time ,Gotta watch this song of theirs called Mad as a hatter, Thanks Brother, Have a Great year ahead,Stay safe n well, love from Australia 🇦🇺👍🤙
They're two of the three Lovell Sisters who toured for several successful years on the bluegrass circuit. When the oldest sister decided life on the road wasn't for her, she left and returned home. It didn't take Rebecca and Megan long to decide they weren't done playing music yet and this is the result. Both are married to other guitar players with Rebecca's husband leaning toward the blues and Megan's being more jazz oriented.
Larkin Poe are sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell. Rebecca is on lead vocals and guitar, Megan on lap steel guitar and backing vocals. One of the best current bands around. Try anything off of their new album Blood harmony. Two other great bands with sisters to check out are First Aid Kit and The Wolff Sisters .
Can she (they) sing and play the Blues, you ask? They can play the blues, soul, R&B, rock, hard rock, folk....you name it!! Just to give you an idea, check out these two playlists of covers that they've done over the years! Be sure to check out their original music though! ruclips.net/p/PLAOGal7pIOOhPabkFJLvmmPKmavpX0sJG ruclips.net/p/PLAOGal7pIOOikfwWqMSNGP8DWeI_xeX3h
These are some of my favorite covers Larkin Poe has done! You can find the videos for them on their RUclips channel Spoonful - by Howlin' Wolf Come On In My Kitchen -by Robert Johnson Hard Time Killin' Floor Blues - by Skip James Preachin' Blues - by Son House & Crawlin' Kingsnake by John Lee Hooker
They do, indeed, fall mostly into the blues genre. Though they weave around inside the genre. You should take a look at "Mad as a Hatter." Live with the Nu Deco Ensemble is a great version. It's a very meaningful song to the two of them, and it's also just both brilliant and eerie as hell at the same time. First one I heard from them a I jumped right down the rabbit hole. ....Pun intended.
@@Sheseasyouthere Yeah. That song is a spellbinding, mesmerizing wonder. It was the first one I heard from them. There's not many first songs that made my jaw hit the floor, but this is definitely one of them. Another one is "Honeybee" by Steam Powered Giraffe...another favorite of mine. Their harmonies are also utterly insane.
ThatSingerReactions if you haven't yet, you have GOT to hear Larkin Poe perform Mae As a Hatter live at The Convent Club. Rebecca wails like an angel and touches my very soul. You'd really like Away by Cam Cole. Tattoo Rings is another banger of his. Larkin Poe are sisters. Their brother is on drums. They're related to Edgar Allan Poe. Quote the Raven, FOREVERMORE!!!
That's not their brother on drums. Their brother is not in the band. This video was taken several years ago and their brother would have either been in middle school or starting high school at that time. That Kevin McGowan on drums and Tarka Layman on bass. Otherwise, I totally agree...the songs from The Convent Club session are stellar!!
They are Sisters. Their surname is Larkin and Poe is a reference to Edgar Allen Poe, the Author. They are an outstanding duo, and yes, you definitely need to listen to more! They will soon be on your blues playlist
Please, please, please. React to "John the Revelator", "Bad Spell", "Every Bird That Flys" or "Lips Cold as Diamond". ANy of htose from te albums. I promise you'lllove them.
If you like this track.... (to me, this is a mid for them) they have way better songs than this one !!! The covers of great classic foundational blues tracks that they do wipe this song completely!!!!

They are sisters not "both sisters", which would mean they weren't related but each had a sister.
Love these girls! (and the whole bluesy-rock vibe they have). They've got so so so many flippin' brilliant songs.
LOVE Larkin Poe, so happy you found them!!!! ♡

My daughter bought tickets for us to see these Lovell sisters in April when they tour Australia. What a great Christmas present.

They are the Lovell sisters, Megan and Rebecca and are not a couple (they both have husbands). They are terrific American blues and rock.
Rebecca and Megan Lovell are sisters and the future of the Blues.......for a Blues junkie like me, I couldn't be happier.....
As others said, the girls can cut down on some serious blues! Try "Mississippi": ruclips.net/video/ZXQQEK81BAk/видео.html

Also, this song doesn't even properly showcase Rebecca's voice... I shit you not.

The Lovell sisters, Megan and Rebecca, named the band after their 4x great grandfather, Larkin Poe. They are also related to Edgar Allen Poe.
Not just a reference. They are direct descendants.

You interrupt too much with your own vocal attempts. That is not a reaction and is also very annoying.
