The hikikomori-route is definitely the worst route in the game. It's somehow an equivalent to the genocide route in Undertale. I would rank the endings like this, best to worse: Good ending, Neutral ending 1 (where Sunny doesn't stab himself), Bad ending (bc Basil might also kill himself, after finding out what happened with Sunny), Neutral ending 2 (where Sunny stabs himself), Hikikomori ending one (where Sunny doesn't die), Hikikomori ending 2 (where Sunny dies)
For me the knife ending is the worst because everyone as hope for a better future and then it gots shadered right in front of them and they are just "what the f*ck happen?". The hikikomori one, personnally, is pretty close, but they'll feel more guilty about abandoning them and not doing anything to help.
Yeah, the idea of the group not talking in years only to have 2 members coincidentally stab themselves on the same night. That is f***ed up to think about. If it is the worst depends on what would hit Kel harder. Trying to help them both but they still did it or the raw shock of them both doing it with absolutely no warning... Wait, wouldn't Aubury have killed Basil if Sunny wasn't at the lake? That idea alone reaffirms the Omori route 2 as the worst one because A) Sunny killed themself and B) Aubury is now experiencing the same guilt as Sunny and Basil. Unfortunately, we have too little info to know what happened for sure due to the simple fact that we don't leave the house in the Omori route until the end scene if we don't grab the knife.

If Hero would’ve died after the neutral ending… man. Because last time Hero fell into his grief and depression, Kel was there to pull him out of it. But this time, Kel’s hit his limit on being stable enough to help, every last ounce of positivity smothered by the new losses. Kel and Hero would both be suffering immensely, and considering their support systems are quite literally dead, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hero would follow too. And after that, Kel would get even worse because his brother is gone too… My only hope is that Kel and Aubrey will find some comfort in each other, in both of them blaming themselves for not being able to help/causing the deaths of their friends. Because the other options… I don’t even want to think about it.

let's be honest, basil would definetly commit suicide after the bad ending as soon as he gets the chance to bc of the guilt that he now carries from both mari's and sunny's deaths. so the neutral ending is just as bad as the bad ending
Whats awful about it too is that Kel was the one that brought the group back together. Kel was the one that finally got Sunny out of his home. He was the one that helped with Basil and talked to him more. He talked to Aubrey more (even if some of it was fighting). When Hero finally came he joined the group too. If he did nothing then they would probably go their separate ways and never talk again. So Kel might've realized that and blamed himself for Sunny *and* Basil's deaths. I might think hes just making things worse when hes really trying to help. With the Hero thing after Maris death that he talked about to Sunny at her grave, i wonder if he was already thinking that. Then after the neutral ending he wouldve felt so much worse for everything. Ima cry now..
I don't think he was making things worse. Remember, in the good ending, basil and sunny survive, and thats just because of kel gathering everyone together. If kel wasnt there, basil would've commited suicide because sunny wasn't comforting him, and sunny would continue being a hikikomori
I think there's no way Aubrey becomes a greater bully after Basil's death, nor after Sunny's death too. I see her more like doing a hikikomori, like Sunny did, aisolating herself and ignoring his friends, believing she doesn't deserve them. Maybe she even creates her own headspace, and never comes out of her house (Maybe only to buy something, I don't know if her mother goes out to buy... I'm going to suppose she does). About Kel, I doubt he tries to help Aubrey coming put of her aisolation. He would be so broke, he'll probably just be in bed for a long time, and wouldn't want to upset Aubrey.... No, more like, he wouldn't have the energy, or maybe worst, trying that would remember him when he helped Sunny (And how that went). However, I think he would be the one with most will to live. And yes, probably Hero and Aubrey would have suicidal thoughts. But Kel, who is happier by nature, and having his parents and little sister, he would try to live despite the trauma. What about Hero? He has his parents and little sister and brother. But... He lost the one he loved, supposedly because she killed herself, and other two of his friends (One of them her little brother). The thoughs of being useless, couldn't help any of them... He... Let's be honest, after that, whou could concentrate in their career? And the suicidal thoughts, to reunite with them, because he thinks he doesn't deserve what he has... In conclusion, my view of how they would follow their life after that ending...: Aubrey becomes a hikikomori, even creating her headspace as Sunny did to protect herself from reality Kel would be depressed, but would try to go forward for her family and dead friends. Hero, who couldn't protect his girlfriend, her brother, and her brother's best friend, would be especially traumatized. He wouldn't be able to continue his studies with such traumas. And, yes, I see everyone having their SOMETHINGS. So, yes, err... I'm not very good at English, but I try to improve. I hope I could explain myself. And so many thanks for doing this video! I was waiting someone to do a video about this "Neutral" ending, because it's so tragic... and it's so sad to think how everyone would be broken inside... @@JJC_Games Similarly i very almost got the neutral ending at first, after watching the truth scenes i mistook it and thought Basil had killed Mari. I was going to choose not to save Basil as he'd 'done a bad thing' and eventually put it down to asking my friend "1 or 2", 1 being to save him, 2 being to not. They chose 1 and i continued on to the true ending, but in hindsight its scary to think of how close i was to getting the neutral ending first time.
I never played the game myself, bc I'm broke, but when I watched Merg's gameplay, I genuinely thought like: "Okay when we go to sleep, we might end up in headspace again and there might be some secret/the right way to continue the story", so it's pretty likely that some people got the neutral ending on accident.
Fun fact: The headspace emotions chart show how Sunny's friends act in real life, or atleas how they used to act Kel was the happy, enthusiastic and whatnot Hero was more sealed off and sad Aubrey was pretty angry whit everyone, especially with Kel And then we have Omori... I feel like Basil would definitely kill himself after Sunny does. Plus, they all get to see Sunny actually kill himself since they can probably see him falling through the windows in Basil's hospital room. Considering all that, I think the impact would be much worse then the Knife ending since at least don't see Sunny die. But that's just personal opinion.
Aubrey probably would blame herself and probably be the only one that actually seeks help. She might stop her bullying as she saw first hand what it did to basil. Hero might not be as depressed as it would seem, and probably confirmed canon that Mari and hero were forming a relationship. Mari was the person that kept hero going which makes sense that he didn’t know what to do without her. Hero could be suppressing his emotions, or just trying to look at more positive things. Kel would get over it within a few months but still remember vividly. I feel like this is what would happen if the neutral route continued, keeping the character’s personalities pretty similar. Kel probably would change after this though, being more cautious and caring about his friends, and maybe even coming off as intrusive to other people, as he asks too many questions about their personal life.
I will say, I personally think Aubrey's bullying actually affected Basil, since Aubrey was the one who introduced Basil to the group. It's honestly really sad to think about. I totally agree with your statement.
Now that I think about it, I think it will be called or cataloged as a neutral ending because in Sunny's head him suicide was him way of getting out of trouble along with Basil, and they are the only ones who stop suffering, and because of how they managed to free themselves but their friends are having a horrible time, and if we take into account that if Aubrey died kel could consider the oyasumi option And we'd have the whole fucking band dead thanks to a fucking musical, maybe I love music but if there was no recital everyone would be more than fine T nT, And maybe the bad ending is considered that way because basil is still suffering, even a thousand times more than before and sunny killed himself against his will, since it was omori who led him there, and basil He could kill himself after sunny is the closest thing to the neutral ending only with more suffering and pain and that it passes more slowly
god the neutral ending is so messed up. kel really brought the gang back together only for him to see that basil kills himself and he probably gonna find out that sunny also killed himself depending on what you do. it hurts too to see kel break down and the fact that the others are probably gonna follow suit. damn manz
Pretty sure the bad ending is the worst because in the fight with himself he chose to gave up. He decided that facing his friends and facing the guilt and shame of what he did was too hard, and ending his life seemed to be the easier option. In the neutral ending, he didn't even get that far, so close for things to potentially be better, he gave up before there was even the chance.
I believe in the worst Neutral Ending (SUNNY and BASIL both ending their lives), I feel like KEL, AUBREY and HERO would actually stick together and grief together this time, not wandering off doing their own things like they did 4 years ago, this time they would actually rely on each other. Heck, they should do that even if SUNNY would still be alive and was just moving away.
My own two cents. I think Aubrey having learned that her friends were grieving in their own way wouldn’t abandon Kel or Hero, if anything I think she’d stick herself to them like glue, she wouldn’t be the new Kel of the group but she’d certainly try to keep some kind of support network between the three of them and try to process grief better than before. She’d certainly blame herself for thinking Basil’s death is her fault and this would also impact the hooligans she hangs out with who would also see themselves as to blame to an extent as well. It’s also possible that Basil’s death could break up her new friend group which is why I could see her being clinging to anyone for support even if she has to force it. Kel I think would be suffering the most and this time depending on how Hero and Aubrey try to deal with their grief I can see them potentially helping him. I get the feeling a lot of nasty things will be said by Kel that have been buried over the years and some may take his comments with malice but they’re coming from a grieving sixteen year old, basically a kid still whose lost two friends again after only just getting the gang back together. Hero I think would be devastated but having been through depression before and how it destroys you I think might push him to try especially seeing Kel in such a broken state, in a sense even though he is very broken from Sunny and Basil’s deaths he can see just how much his younger brother is hurting and how alone Aubrey is. I think he would refuse to go back to college out of fear of something worse happening but also just trying to be support and to process that grief. I’m not gonna say if the three would be successful in dealing with their grief, hell the kind of people they’d be afterwards would be strikingly different from the ones we see in the game.
Tbh poor Kel imagine being alone for years with new "friends" that you aren't close with to the point you forget their names after the death of the sister figure of the group which tore your friend group apart, have to deal with your hikkikomori brother who then hides his depression and you feel like you can't help only to then still live in his shadow, find out that your old friend (and probably closest) is moving away, try to get him out of his house for months and he finally comes out with only 3 days left, have to hold everyone together with all of their mental issues while almost being framed as 'ignorant' and 'simple', try to be a light in the dark by having a sleepover at your friends house while being supportive, The both your friends kill themselves and now you live with the guilt, feeling as though it was all your fault for even trying to be there and not understanding. Your only two friends left probably isolate themselves and run away from their issues, leaving you completely in the dark. I dont doubt that they all would've tried to help eachother but just can't do it, if only one of them died it would have been much more manageable but still difficult. Even with what happened last time, they just can't defeat their depression this time. I think that Hero would act like Space Ex-Husband: only feeling emptiness and sadness and either engulfing himself in his work or not dealing with it all, unable to cope. Aubrey would become a shut-in, adopting her mothers loathsome habits. Whether or not she would resort to drugs/alcohol is unable to be decided. Kel would probably deny it, with unhealthy daydreaming or developing a headspace like Sunny. His probably wouldn't be as scary (?) as Sunny's with the inclusion of black pace just being unnecessary.
I'm literally going to cry I love the entire OMORI cast, Basil specifically and seeing him dead breaks my heart. I personally think Basil was just in a state of shock and became extremely anxious when Mari died, that's why he acted the way he did. After the incident he collected his thoughts and probably blamed himself for Mari's death, Sunny's trauma, Hero's depression, and Aubrey's emotional and mental damage. And well, Kel didn't change that much so.. He was probably so guilty it had driven him to suicide.
Hero might get suicidal thoughts but I believe that he would never go through with it. Whenever he found himself having such thoughts, they would immediately be repressed through the mere prospect of the utter guilt by the state he would be leaving the people that he left behind. He knows first hand how it feels to be in their shoes, he could NEVER allow his friends and family to feel it again. And he would do anything to keep it from happening. He regrets not having been there for them. Especially in regards to Sunny I think, In the end he let him leave Basil’s house alone after Basil’s death. He must think that Sunny could have been saved if only he had been a little more proactive. So I believe he would in earnest try to atone for this, to help Aubrey, Kel and others, to never again leave them alone in their time of need, even at the expense of himself. And hopefully Kel and Aubrey too would have the strength to help him as well, they would all have to be in it together. Thanks for the video.

Because he blamed himsefl for the death of Mari because he thought he didn't notice if she had any problems and now that Sunny, basicly the only thing that's left from her is gona as well. So yeah he'd defenetly be pretty depressed. Kel's emotion is pretty accurately described, he would basicly loose it and would almost become a totally different person. Aubrey would mostly feel anger because her friends left her the second time only this time forever and I don't think she'd understand why, or more so why now of all times, when she thought that things will get better again. Basicly shw just got her friends back and lost them both again.
I agree with you except for the part about Aubrey in my opinion I don't think she would be pissed at them for leaving like last time but instead most likely end up blaming herself for Basil's death considering the fact that she literally asked basil to forgive her after he died and there's a high chance that she would end up offing herself especially if sunny offed himself afterwards.
I actually imagine Polly would be pissed off at Aubrey. Surely she knows who has been bullying Basil, she likely just doesn't say anything when Aubrey comes along with the others since she's willing to apologize to Basil, but when they all wake up and find Basil dead, well I know Polly wouldn't be mad at Kel or Hero, that's for sure.
I dont really understand why after Basil commited suicided is called "Neutral Ending". The gang have to witness yet another horrible scene. Not to mention Sunny also still haunted by Something or would also commit suicide. "Bad Ending" however eventhough in the end Sunny is dead, atleast Basil still alive. Yes there is a chance for Basil to commit suicide but since Sunny saved him, maybe he will actually the one who purge Sunny's sin.
A full year late but its called the 'bad ending' because it's unlocked in the same area as the good ending but in the neutral endings you dont even get the chance to have a "good ending"
You could possibly say that the 2nd other ending and the bad ending are linked. This is because in the 2nd other ending, both Sunny and Basil die and the truth is never out. Sunny dies and the truth is never out in the bad ending. Basil will probably end up killing himself and it will end up in the same way. "Neutral" endings puts the story into a state where the actions of Sunny (other ending) and the actions of the friends (2nd other ending, as they will probably live normally with trauma unless they do turn to suicide) are repeated for their lives. In this sense, you could say that the bad ending is worse than the neutral endings because Sunny suffered through the truth for nothing and he was so close to revealing it. You can also say that in the neutral endings the people who know the truth are gone, and so in result there is no more knowledge of the truth. However, this can also be seen as a bad thing too.
Why the bad ending is still worst, because sunny actually almost kill basil with no reason. And then he jump and death. Leaving Basil alone with his guilt
Umm Sunny wasnt try to harm Basil. When he enter Basil's room, after a bit of argueing embodiment of both something were appear. Of course this something not more than imagination. Basil said he will eliminate something but since they arent even real they ended up harming each other and the climax Basil stabbed Sunny's eye. Im imagining before Basil stabbed Sunny's eyes, Basil's vision showed him that Something "Crawling" at Sunny's face thus he swing his garden sheer to Sunny's face and accidentaly hurt him...
@@hackidreemurr Basil kills himself if Sunny doesn't confront him. His Something drags Sunny into his reach. During the actual battle, the dialogue says he "reaches into Sunny" and Sunny has no obvious marks on his face aside from the stab wound. The game all but tells you Basil was intending suicide and attempted to turn it into a murder-suicide by strangling Sunny, but Sunny started fighting back, so Basil resorted to stabbing him in the eye.
Personally, either Hero or Aubrey would be next to take their lives after Sunny and Basil’s deaths. Then, after both of them died however, Kel wouldn’t take it anymore and follow them as Faraway Town starts to be considered cursed due to the high suicide rates thanks to the friend group.
Other question: what are the new people that move into Sunny's House, gonna say if they find out that a creature named hell mari is haunting the house they were about to live in

im so late to the party with this video but honestly the neutral ending is easily the most painful. i like to live in blissful ignorance and say the others rush basil to the hospital and he just has a huge scar from it but in the situation he dies i think hero would throw himself into working/college stuff again, unfortunately, overworking himself but making a living trying to forget everything and repress it, Aubrey and Kel would absolutely have to compromise and become a sort of support system for each other and probably move in together and be roommates just because the thought of another thing happening like with basil, mari, or sunny is too much. I LIKE TO PRETEND THE NEUTRAL ENDING DOESN'T EXIST! :D

Basil's death is similar to Sayaka Maizono's death. It left a very large impact. It traumatized everyone else. I played THH and after Ch. 1 Makoto wouldn't enter his bathroom ever, reading "That's where Sayaka...." and "That's what Leon used to...." if you interacted with the lint roller, and the sketchpad.
After Mari died Hero and Sunny (could be Basil too) blamed themselves for it. After Basil died Polly and Aubrey (might Be Kel too because he could think that he wasn't there for him) blamed themselves for it. After Sunny died Kel (and maybe the others too like Aubrey or idk) blamed themselves for it. Wow what a loop.

I think there's no way Aubrey becomes a greater bully after Basil's death, nor after Sunny's death too. I see her more like doing a hikikomori, like Sunny did, aisolating herself and ignoring his friends, believing she doesn't deserve them. Maybe she even creates her own headspace, and never comes out of her house (Maybe only to buy something, I don't know if her mother goes out to buy... I'm going to suppose she does).
About Kel, I doubt he tries to help Aubrey coming put of her aisolation. He would be so broke, he'll probably just be in bed for a long time, and wouldn't want to upset Aubrey.... No, more like, he wouldn't have the energy, or maybe worst, trying that would remember him when he helped Sunny (And how that went). However, I think he would be the one with most will to live.
And yes, probably Hero and Aubrey would have suicidal thoughts. But Kel, who is happier by nature, and having his parents and little sister, he would try to live despite the trauma.
What about Hero? He has his parents and little sister and brother. But... He lost the one he loved, supposedly because she killed herself, and other two of his friends (One of them her little brother). The thoughs of being useless, couldn't help any of them... He... Let's be honest, after that, whou could concentrate in their career? And the suicidal thoughts, to reunite with them, because he thinks he doesn't deserve what he has...
In conclusion, my view of how they would follow their life after that ending...:
Aubrey becomes a hikikomori, even creating her headspace as Sunny did to protect herself from reality
Kel would be depressed, but would try to go forward for her family and dead friends.
Hero, who couldn't protect his girlfriend, her brother, and her brother's best friend, would be especially traumatized. He wouldn't be able to continue his studies with such traumas.
And, yes, I see everyone having their SOMETHINGS.

And so many thanks for doing this video! I was waiting someone to do a video about this "Neutral" ending, because it's so tragic... and it's so sad to think how everyone would be broken inside... But, at the same time, is a way to understand psicology, and maybe being more empathic with the ones around us.

@@JJC_Games Similarly i very almost got the neutral ending at first, after watching the truth scenes i mistook it and thought Basil had killed Mari. I was going to choose not to save Basil as he'd 'done a bad thing' and eventually put it down to asking my friend "1 or 2", 1 being to save him, 2 being to not. They chose 1 and i continued on to the true ending, but in hindsight its scary to think of how close i was to getting the neutral ending first time.
I never played the game myself, bc I'm broke, but when I watched Merg's gameplay, I genuinely thought like: "Okay when we go to sleep, we might end up in headspace again and there might be some secret/the right way to continue the story", so it's pretty likely that some people got the neutral ending on accident.

I feel like Basil would definitely kill himself after Sunny does. Plus, they all get to see Sunny actually kill himself since they can probably see him falling through the windows in Basil's hospital room. Considering all that, I think the impact would be much worse then the Knife ending since at least don't see Sunny die. But that's just personal opinion.

Aubrey probably would blame herself and probably be the only one that actually seeks help. She might stop her bullying as she saw first hand what it did to basil. Hero might not be as depressed as it would seem, and probably confirmed canon that Mari and hero were forming a relationship. Mari was the person that kept hero going which makes sense that he didn’t know what to do without her. Hero could be suppressing his emotions, or just trying to look at more positive things. Kel would get over it within a few months but still remember vividly. I feel like this is what would happen if the neutral route continued, keeping the character’s personalities pretty similar. Kel probably would change after this though, being more cautious and caring about his friends, and maybe even coming off as intrusive to other people, as he asks too many questions about their personal life.
I will say, I personally think Aubrey's bullying actually affected Basil, since Aubrey was the one who introduced Basil to the group. It's honestly really sad to think about. I totally agree with your statement.
Now that I think about it, I think it will be called or cataloged as a neutral ending because in Sunny's head him suicide was him way of getting out of trouble along with Basil, and they are the only ones who stop suffering, and because of how they managed to free themselves but their friends are having a horrible time, and if we take into account that if Aubrey died kel could consider the oyasumi option And we'd have the whole fucking band dead thanks to a fucking musical, maybe I love music but if there was no recital everyone would be more than fine T nT, And maybe the bad ending is considered that way because basil is still suffering, even a thousand times more than before and sunny killed himself against his will, since it was omori who led him there, and basil He could kill himself after sunny is the closest thing to the neutral ending only with more suffering and pain and that it passes more slowly

Pretty sure the bad ending is the worst because in the fight with himself he chose to gave up. He decided that facing his friends and facing the guilt and shame of what he did was too hard, and ending his life seemed to be the easier option. In the neutral ending, he didn't even get that far, so close for things to potentially be better, he gave up before there was even the chance.
Yeah true the fact that he came so close overcoming the truth yet he still failed definitely makes it more painful
I believe in the worst Neutral Ending (SUNNY and BASIL both ending their lives), I feel like KEL, AUBREY and HERO would actually stick together and grief together this time, not wandering off doing their own things like they did 4 years ago, this time they would actually rely on each other.
Heck, they should do that even if SUNNY would still be alive and was just moving away.
My own two cents. I think Aubrey having learned that her friends were grieving in their own way wouldn’t abandon Kel or Hero, if anything I think she’d stick herself to them like glue, she wouldn’t be the new Kel of the group but she’d certainly try to keep some kind of support network between the three of them and try to process grief better than before. She’d certainly blame herself for thinking Basil’s death is her fault and this would also impact the hooligans she hangs out with who would also see themselves as to blame to an extent as well. It’s also possible that Basil’s death could break up her new friend group which is why I could see her being clinging to anyone for support even if she has to force it.
Kel I think would be suffering the most and this time depending on how Hero and Aubrey try to deal with their grief I can see them potentially helping him. I get the feeling a lot of nasty things will be said by Kel that have been buried over the years and some may take his comments with malice but they’re coming from a grieving sixteen year old, basically a kid still whose lost two friends again after only just getting the gang back together.
Hero I think would be devastated but having been through depression before and how it destroys you I think might push him to try especially seeing Kel in such a broken state, in a sense even though he is very broken from Sunny and Basil’s deaths he can see just how much his younger brother is hurting and how alone Aubrey is. I think he would refuse to go back to college out of fear of something worse happening but also just trying to be support and to process that grief.
I’m not gonna say if the three would be successful in dealing with their grief, hell the kind of people they’d be afterwards would be strikingly different from the ones we see in the game.
Tbh poor Kel imagine being alone for years with new "friends" that you aren't close with to the point you forget their names after the death of the sister figure of the group which tore your friend group apart, have to deal with your hikkikomori brother who then hides his depression and you feel like you can't help only to then still live in his shadow, find out that your old friend (and probably closest) is moving away, try to get him out of his house for months and he finally comes out with only 3 days left, have to hold everyone together with all of their mental issues while almost being framed as 'ignorant' and 'simple', try to be a light in the dark by having a sleepover at your friends house while being supportive,
The both your friends kill themselves and now you live with the guilt, feeling as though it was all your fault for even trying to be there and not understanding. Your only two friends left probably isolate themselves and run away from their issues, leaving you completely in the dark. I dont doubt that they all would've tried to help eachother but just can't do it, if only one of them died it would have been much more manageable but still difficult. Even with what happened last time, they just can't defeat their depression this time. I think that Hero would act like Space Ex-Husband: only feeling emptiness and sadness and either engulfing himself in his work or not dealing with it all, unable to cope. Aubrey would become a shut-in, adopting her mothers loathsome habits. Whether or not she would resort to drugs/alcohol is unable to be decided. Kel would probably deny it, with unhealthy daydreaming or developing a headspace like Sunny. His probably wouldn't be as scary (?) as Sunny's with the inclusion of black pace just being unnecessary.
I'm literally going to cry I love the entire OMORI cast, Basil specifically and seeing him dead breaks my heart. I personally think Basil was just in a state of shock and became extremely anxious when Mari died, that's why he acted the way he did. After the incident he collected his thoughts and probably blamed himself for Mari's death, Sunny's trauma, Hero's depression, and Aubrey's emotional and mental damage. And well, Kel didn't change that much so.. He was probably so guilty it had driven him to suicide.
3:28 I like to think Sunny has terrible depth perception
Hero might get suicidal thoughts but I believe that he would never go through with it. Whenever he found himself having such thoughts, they would immediately be repressed through the mere prospect of the utter guilt by the state he would be leaving the people that he left behind.
He knows first hand how it feels to be in their shoes, he could NEVER allow his friends and family to feel it again. And he would do anything to keep it from happening. He regrets not having been there for them. Especially in regards to Sunny I think, In the end he let him leave Basil’s house alone after Basil’s death. He must think that Sunny could have been saved if only he had been a little more proactive.
So I believe he would in earnest try to atone for this, to help Aubrey, Kel and others, to never again leave them alone in their time of need, even at the expense of himself.
And hopefully Kel and Aubrey too would have the strength to help him as well, they would all have to be in it together.

Imo bad neutral ending is worse than hikkikomori 2 ending because you reunited your friend group just for it to shatter apart in one day, but hikkikomori 2 is no one gets to know eachother again so itll be less impactful

Hero would probably blame himsefl for this as well in way. Because he blamed himsefl for the death of Mari because he thought he didn't notice if she had any problems and now that Sunny, basicly the only thing that's left from her is gona as well. So yeah he'd defenetly be pretty depressed. Kel's emotion is pretty accurately described, he would basicly loose it and would almost become a totally different person. Aubrey would mostly feel anger because her friends left her the second time only this time forever and I don't think she'd understand why, or more so why now of all times, when she thought that things will get better again. Basicly shw just got her friends back and lost them both again.
I agree with you except for the part about Aubrey in my opinion I don't think she would be pissed at them for leaving like last time but instead most likely end up blaming herself for Basil's death considering the fact that she literally asked basil to forgive her after he died and there's a high chance that she would end up offing herself especially if sunny offed himself afterwards.

I actually imagine Polly would be pissed off at Aubrey. Surely she knows who has been bullying Basil, she likely just doesn't say anything when Aubrey comes along with the others since she's willing to apologize to Basil, but when they all wake up and find Basil dead, well I know Polly wouldn't be mad at Kel or Hero, that's for sure.
I dont really understand why after Basil commited suicided is called "Neutral Ending". The gang have to witness yet another horrible scene. Not to mention Sunny also still haunted by Something or would also commit suicide. "Bad Ending" however eventhough in the end Sunny is dead, atleast Basil still alive. Yes there is a chance for Basil to commit suicide but since Sunny saved him, maybe he will actually the one who purge Sunny's sin.
A full year late but its called the 'bad ending' because it's unlocked in the same area as the good ending but in the neutral endings you dont even get the chance to have a "good ending"
You could possibly say that the 2nd other ending and the bad ending are linked. This is because in the 2nd other ending, both Sunny and Basil die and the truth is never out. Sunny dies and the truth is never out in the bad ending. Basil will probably end up killing himself and it will end up in the same way. "Neutral" endings puts the story into a state where the actions of Sunny (other ending) and the actions of the friends (2nd other ending, as they will probably live normally with trauma unless they do turn to suicide) are repeated for their lives. In this sense, you could say that the bad ending is worse than the neutral endings because Sunny suffered through the truth for nothing and he was so close to revealing it. You can also say that in the neutral endings the people who know the truth are gone, and so in result there is no more knowledge of the truth. However, this can also be seen as a bad thing too.

Umm Sunny wasnt try to harm Basil. When he enter Basil's room, after a bit of argueing embodiment of both something were appear. Of course this something not more than imagination. Basil said he will eliminate something but since they arent even real they ended up harming each other and the climax Basil stabbed Sunny's eye. Im imagining before Basil stabbed Sunny's eyes, Basil's vision showed him that Something "Crawling" at Sunny's face thus he swing his garden sheer to Sunny's face and accidentaly hurt him...
@@hackidreemurr Basil kills himself if Sunny doesn't confront him. His Something drags Sunny into his reach. During the actual battle, the dialogue says he "reaches into Sunny" and Sunny has no obvious marks on his face aside from the stab wound. The game all but tells you Basil was intending suicide and attempted to turn it into a murder-suicide by strangling Sunny, but Sunny started fighting back, so Basil resorted to stabbing him in the eye.

Personally, either Hero or Aubrey would be next to take their lives after Sunny and Basil’s deaths. Then, after both of them died however, Kel wouldn’t take it anymore and follow them as Faraway Town starts to be considered cursed due to the high suicide rates thanks to the friend group.

im so late to the party with this video but honestly the neutral ending is easily the most painful. i like to live in blissful ignorance and say the others rush basil to the hospital and he just has a huge scar from it but in the situation he dies i think hero would throw himself into working/college stuff again, unfortunately, overworking himself but making a living trying to forget everything and repress it, Aubrey and Kel would absolutely have to compromise and become a sort of support system for each other and probably move in together and be roommates just because the thought of another thing happening like with basil, mari, or sunny is too much. I LIKE TO PRETEND THE NEUTRAL ENDING DOESN'T EXIST! :D

It left a very large impact.
It traumatized everyone else.
I played THH and after Ch. 1 Makoto wouldn't enter his bathroom ever, reading "That's where Sayaka...." and "That's what Leon used to...." if you interacted with the lint roller, and the sketchpad.
