  • Welcome to this video featuring the very anticipated full E line cab ride, all the way from Atlantic to Downtown Santa Monica stations. This video was done onboard the P3010 train, which is the only type that currently runs along the E line. This routing is also fairly new, with the regional connector opening in 2023, allowing the E line to stretch past the 7th street metro center, to Atlantic, on the former L (Gold) line. Each stop is listed in the video so you can follow along, I hope you enjoy!

    I always take the E Line whenever I go to the California Science Center. I can't wait for Endeavour's new home!

    The entire stretch on East 3rd St was so smooth with the signaling.

    1:05:32 the announcement got messed up or something, it’s Downtown Santa Monica Station not La Cienega/Jefferson Station

      For sure it’s not the first time I’ve seed announcements delayed like that too

    Thank you man. I was going to asking you a question. When the train got to downtown Santa Monica did anyone trip and fall when the train stopped for 2 seconds. Every time I go on it someone doesn’t grab onto the pole and trip.

      Not in this video, it can be surprising for some, I think it’s a safety stop they must do incase the brakes have bad performance, since there is no extra track for the train to run on should it overshoot

    the description mentions that the regional connector was opened in 2022 when it was opened in 2023, might wanna fix that

    Ugh I know it doesn’t really affect the video but I hated how the announcements kept being badly off on the western segment. By the time you were there, it thought you were still in Culver City. Again, I know it doesn’t ruin the video but it was still quite annoying

      I know! I feel it’s awful especially for those who aren’t familiar with the area, and miss their stop as a result. Sometimes by 5-7 stations if they follow the wrong announcements

      Oh yeah the A line announcements still have gold line residue when it reaches the regional connector. The voice is different half of the A line.

    E is my least favorite line I wish they just extended the D line to Santa Monica. It’s too fricking slow

    • @TigerRailfan
      @TigerRailfan  Месяц назад +1

      Ah I’m sorry to hear, it really is slow especially around Downtown, a D line extension would be really nice too especially since it’s already heading to VA Medical

      Be grateful you have rail service *AT ALL.* The vast majority of the country (like me) still has no rail service, not even Amtrak 🙄

      @@nathanielcoleman5694 I’m not saying it should be removed it’s a bit slow because we had opportunity to make rapid transit go to Santa monica

      @ Ok. But that’s not Metro’s fault; it’s Henry Waxman’s. Metro originally *wanted* to build the B Line to Santa Monica instead of North Hollywood but rich, anti-rail, Fairfax district shitheads didn’t want it because they hated trains. He represented the Fairfax district, so they told him they didn’t want it, and he passed legislation banning subway tunneling in Fairfax (it was initially for Metro as a whole, threatening cancellation of virtually the entire system, but a compromise was eventually reached that only banned tunneling under said district). Fortunately, he eventually changed his mind and had his law reversed, paving the way for the D Line’s extension to the Westside, but there is still no word as to whether it will end in Santa Monica or not (it will currently end at a hospital in Westwood).
