Senchis and windshirts are the rage these days with long trail hikers, who are pushing the ultralight envelope with new techs. The US PCT and GDT are quite a bit drier and more open than the AT, and through-hiking long trails on summer break has become quite a thing in Europe. Fastpacking some of these famous trails has become a burgeoning market segment too, and ultrarunning is really capturing ppls imaginations... Way different deals than alpinism and mountaineering, but we can dig sum ultralight too. A Super7 mid or Senchi or R1 Air under a softshell is perfect for a lot of intense rope and rock and wind things...
I disagree. EB is making products for different users and use cases. This is for the UL crowd, the day adventure, the fast and light. It that's not your jam, great! I hope you find gear that works for what you do in the outdoors.

Don't most of us already have a fleece jacket, a wind proof jacket and a rain jacket?
