I remember the day I reached that goal with my feral donkey. She's standard size and the most delicious thing you've ever seen. I worked and worked and WORKED on her. I think it's one of the most proud accomplishments I've ever made and she is now my snuggle bug. I love her more than all the stars❤️
It’s like trimming a dog’s nails; you stop when they start screaming it’ll teach them that they can get out of it, unless they’re genuinely scared, keep going as soon as the stop screaming

I used to be good with milking first time heifers - there's all kinds of things you can do with your weight to keep them from kicking - and then they actually calm down and let you pet them too. Llama look like an alternate universe tho, like they're always inventing excuses to spit on you. 😆
One of my moms first lammas looks like him. An they have gotten their first spit victim this week too. My poor grandma didn't heed our warnings when she went to give em treats. Her last words were "Oh it looks like he's smiling, you want a treat too? Your so so cute-" an bam in the face. Poor grams. at least it didn't get her in the eye.

Yea gianing trust is inportant. I have a dairy do and a few other goats. With our dairy doe, Lilo, ive had to work with her because she loves to kick with her left hind leg when i touglch it. We have to hobble when we milk because of this, though she has gotten much better.

You are the most amazing and experienced sheep shearer I have ever seen, especially for the variety of animals and fleeces that you work with. My nieces had a classmate that was the most perfect ballerina that you could ever have found even at a young age. When she was 14 she QUIT ballet, because she wanted to go and learn how to become a sheep shearer and keeper. You probably know how she felt!
