Dude this actually looks incredible. It genuinely looks like a sequel to the classic snake game
(I used to imagine something similar with space invaders)
the sequelle of space invaders is of space shooters for me (it even make sens as the revenge XD)
you have the space invaders remake from the late 90s that had bosses and different types of enemies.
Played ur games demo, idk why you added a lives system but other than that it's good. The level editor is awesome
Maybe I'm just old school, but I like arcade style games with lives. It makes deaths more meaningful and adds to the suspense for me. One of favorite games was Super Monkey Ball.
Lives? That is a nope for me.
@@Lankyware you should Probably consider making lives an option or separate mode then. hard videogame + lives counter is an exercise in misery for most-atleast in modern times.
hell, you could even lock some of the game's content behind playing with lives and that'd be fine. i would still call for the chance to onramp players without lives tho.
i'd point to voidstanger as a game that did a similar thing, you have a lives system but after losing them all you're prompted with the chance to get infinite lives and inability to do see certain things.
played the demo and really enjoyed myself regardless. keep up the good work
Tbf with advanced ai it might be too punishing to have only one life, then again idrk how the game works i just got the video recommended
@Lankyware I agree with what the other guy said, maybe you could add an achievement that you can only get if you beat the game in one life but let casuals enjoy it without lives.

An enemy that hunts and eats your cursor is one of the most creative things I have ever seen in a video game
i played your demo, i really really liked it! tho i would like to add that the lives system is pretty frustrating, that kinda stuff is really outdated today.. but its very fun
Just because it's an older mechanic, that doesn't mean it can't be used effectively in the designs of certain games.
@@lapiswolf2780 I do agree with this, I think there are recent games who have had lives in a innovative way, I just find it not to be great in this game where you usually will take multiple tries to figure out the puzzle fully, making it a chore to have to go thru all levels again
A neat concept. I hope the renegan part with the scary akatsuki music is just a joke, because it could land you in trouble, especially if it's gonna be a commercial game. 😅

Nice looking game. I can't help but feel like some of the basic sound effects sound a little harsh, like teleporting, going through portals, eating special apples or entering 'ghost' areas.
I don't have the slightest audio knowledge so I don't know what it takes to have cohesive sounds in games, so I'm really just sharing my opinion. The sounds may not even be final for all I know.

I understand that the enemy AI snakes don't bite your tail because THEY would die by Snake's (the game) logic, but it's so weird seeing an enemy that is unable to attack you if you simply turn your back at them.
A prime example of poisonous (not venomous) snake.
