I haven't flown in 24 years and will keep it that way. Poor maintenance didn't just start recently but is accelerating with cost cutting measures. All employers expect too much too quickly from their employees which is how mistakes are made.
Buddy you’re 50000x times more likely to die from your driving than you ever are to even be in a plane incident. Despite this news, there are 100000 planes in the sky and all of them land, they do this x 365 for many years. This is just 6 incidents out this number.
Flying is still statistically the safest method of traver BY FAR. You're overwhelmingly more likely to die in a car crash on the way to the airport, so if you're going to be afraid of flying you logically should also be afraid of driving

The a320 has 3 different hydraulic systems just in case something like this happens. It still had 2 more hydraulic lines to fly with. Aviation is all about redundancy

These mechanics suck at there job. I don't blame Boeing I blame the mechanics who take care and maintain the planes. They are doing a terrible job. People need to be fired and this needs to stop before something bad happens.
As a mechanic for a different major airline this stuff happens all the time. The news outlets must be running out of things to report. Hydraulic, oil and other issues happen all the time. Nothing to see here. That’s why these planes are built to be redundant for safety
I've flown a lot for business and this is not routine. If that were the case, we'd be seeing and hearing more about this going forward on social media at least.

It does not eliminate all previously existing criteria for hiring. You have no idea the racial background of anyone on any maintenance crew that worked on these planes. Number 1 is lock of experience of mechanics doing those tasks. 2 lazy quality inspections. 3 rush we have fly next. When you do work on aircraft you must use AMM. Aircraft maintenance Manuel. Due to the mechanics not following that book. problems keep on coming. Sincerely

I'd be embarrassed working for United.. not just for safety They want to force people to pay extra for REGULAR economy seats. An aisle is now premium? And any economy window seat is premium? They are the extremely cramped economy seats that give everyone leg cramps. You can't even reach into a bag under your seat. It's too cramped to get anything out. And they will put anyone 8n an exit row that PAYS money for it. They don't care about safety. The 99 year old grandma is supposed to help people off the plane. And a Professional Firefighter can't have a seat there to rescue people? So infuriating.
If a wheel falls off your 20 year old Toyota, should you blame Toyota for poor build quilt or blame yourself for poor maintance. This is exactly what happens here on both instances.
My neighbor has a classic 1956 Chevy Nomad. It wouldn't start the other day. She had to put it on a battery charger to get it going. I think she should sue GM.

Literally, hundreds of Airbus A220s have problematic engines attached to them. And will have to be pulled out of service, to be reworked, over the coming months. Unless, the engine fails while in flight, and it will land and be pulled out of service then. It is so bad, at least one airline is pulling that aircraft type out of their fleet and getting rid of them. Aircraft are highly complex machines. And need to be inspected, serviced and maintained during the operating life. Can't blame the aircraft manufacturer for the plane's maintenance or operation issues, years/decades out.

United Airlines' maintenance team needs to better check for mechanical issues. Stop blaming Boeing; Delta has Boeing planes but no issues.
