    Ha. Great video again Andy. Really useful guide. With hindsight, I can see how it didn't need quite so much scrambling up Sgurr Dubh Mor, ie paths (where they exist) can take the strain. The guide book I used seemed to make out that the ascent was mainly scrambling so I think I made things a bit more exciting than they needed to be! .....but that's a good thing.....I think!

    • @AndyOB

      I think we only went off course on the last scramble.We got there though and safety in numbers certainly made me feel a bit more relaxed.Nice to meet the 2 of you.😃👍

    Another great adventure Andy, looks a tad tricky route finding if the clag descends.

      Thanks Richard.I've always made sure the forecast is good before i've set foot on the ridge.Not a place to be in bad weather unless u are with a guide who has the knowledge of the ridge.

    Nice one Andy, enjoyed that mate . I've still got these two to do along with Sgurr Alasdair . That gave me a good insite on the route . I done the eight of the Cuillin a few years ago but need to return for the southern three ..Happy new year atb for 2021 ..cheers Stevie

      Need to go back for Sgurr Alasdair myself,Stevie.Had planned to do the 3 of them but strained my leg on the way up Eag and didn't want to risk it after Dubh Mor.

    Sgurr dubh Mor is as tough as they get. Up there today in brilliant conditions, route finding is key and as you say lots of careful down climbing. It’s a drag in and back out.

      Glad you had good day for it.Wouldn't like to be up there in bad weather.Yeah, need to keep focused on the way back down.Even the wee downclimb at the waterfall just below Coire Ghrunnda.😀👍

      @@georgemacdonald6805 I don't fancy going up the chute so i'm going to go back in this way and scramble up via the Bivi cave and decend the chute.🙄👍

    Nice one Andy! another 2 done. looks like some quite tricky terrain in places, I will need to return to Skye next year. Hope you are getting used to Drone. I'm a bit wary in case the controls are a bit tricky to master, but I guess you get used to it eventually. I will get one at some point.

    Great video again Andy, meant to do those 2 in May this year, so interesting to see your take on them.
    How did you find the scrambling on the 2nd one, is it very exposed.?
    Frank.

    • @AndyOB
      @AndyOB  4 года назад

      Hey Frank,was glad i teamed up with Steve and Sam for heading over to Sgurr Dubh.Had a twinge in the top of my thigh not long after i started walking so i was extra cautious on everything i done.Safety in numbers helped.A lot of route finding involved with different ways to go up.We made a wrong turn at the top and actually scrambled up a harder bit.Found an easier way on the downclimb.A few moves with exposure and certainly a lot more caution involved on the way down.Very rocky up there and very grippy as we had dry rock.On a wet day the obvious routes won't be so obvious.Was hoping to go onto Sgurr Alasdair as well but just wanted to get down safely as my thigh pain was creeping round to the base of my spine and my pace had slowed right down.

      Andy O cheers for that Andy; thinking of doing the whole ridge next year with a guide as I’d be bricking it on my own. Hopefully your pain passes as your on a roll.⛰⛰👍👍

      @@hikingwithfrank315 Can be quite a scary place when the clouds roll in.Certainly wouldn't want to be up there in wind/rain conditions.Done the Pinn and Mhic Choinnich with a guide and they know every boulder turn,ledge,slab, foothold and handholds so makes for a safer day.2 single ones left to do now on the ridge.

    • @hikingwithfrank315
      @hikingwithfrank315 4 года назад +1
