Sometimes we get more information about Miko on Suisei's streams than on Miko's own streams and also more information about Suisei on Miko's streams than on Suisei's streams, which is why Micomet is so popular - people like to see how close they are.
If this really is Sui’s last MariKa tourney, I think the saddest thing is she never got a real run back against Aqua. Her win over Aqua by 1 point a couple years back remains one of the hype at moment in Hololive history, here’s hoping they have a MariKa collab with just the two of them.
Aqua doesn't seem to care about Mario Kart anymore, in the last tourney she was in (when Okayu won), she was a disappointment, and after that, I don't think she even streamed the game once. She has been displaced in the "best Marika players" discussion since then, while others like Miko or Mio have joined it.
@@rainyone she was prepping for her live during her last MariKa tourney so she couldn’t practice enough. It does seem like she’s more or less dropped the game. Still, I bring her up specifically cause at her best she was so so much better than the other Holomems. Sui beat her that one time but it took a lot of things going right and she only won by 1 point. Sui’s gotten better at the game since then (as had a lot of other Holomems), so I’m curious how a peak Aqua would do now.
@@mzou89Well, last year, Suisei specifically mentioned training off stream with Aqua, even though Aqua couldn't attend the tournament due to a family event. So she's still someone Suisei considers good enough to push her.
@@rainyoneShe definitely wanted to participate last year. She even said she pracited a lot off stream but the tournament was hosted on a day when she was visiting her family so she couldn't participate. I dunno if she said what was the reason for not joining this year.
On the one hand, Miko might get serious about this tournament and abstain from Baby Park to get a competitive placement. On the other hand, I could definitely see her give in to her entertainer instincts and choose it for a quick chuckle.
We've already had the sasuga marika moment when baby park was picked as the last course last time. Hoping it won't happen again to keep things interesting.
I feel bad, she is hardcore and loves things like this and puts a lot of effort into them but she doesn't have as much time as she used too. I really hope she wins and hope this isnt the last tournament for her. Coaching is just not the same as playing, I feel like its the same as Marine. I really want them to play they have fun playing and I love to watch them
Both may actually get their wish. The competition is much less competitive for the top 3 with Marine and Aqua not participating so it's much easier for Suisei to get 1st and Miko to land in 2nd or 3rd. The only other consistent notable contenders are Mio, Okayu, Pekora, and Matsuri
You think Miko can get past Okayu and Mio? 😂😂 Okayu was last year's champion by a fair margin and Mio has been a consistent top contender (last year she had connection issues).
Okayu won the 2022 cup beating Suisei by 9 points, she has as much of a chance as Suisei does. Pekora failed to make top 12 Tsuyo Cup in 2022 and 2023, she's getting left behind as new members come in and old players improve. Mio for example went from Zako cup 2022 to 3rd place 2023, a huge leap in 1 year. Mio actually tied with Marine in points in 2023. And this year you have Bijou as a strong wild card as she has shown to be incredibly good at MK8DX. So we'll see who can take it.
Susie doesn't have the time and gets really frustrated over her performance. She's still a great overall player in many games this will be good for her.
I think that’s pretty good logic to want to go out on top. Clearly these huge collabs are really hard to do so I can understand wanting to step back and let other people have a go. Hololive has no shortage of talents now, especially since they debuted 10 more this year alone (all of which in the last 6 months)!
Suisei before the Cup: I'm gonna get 1st place again this year, and then retire... Everyone in the Cup, especially Miko, Towa, and Okayu: No. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the game itself: Yes, but you get the SILVER one. Still 1st, but not really.
If thats what she wants to do then no problem with it. Be great if she became Chocos coach. I'd add she could actually participate the tournament as a commentator/host, like an old pro discussing the current talent lol. Like she said she doesn't want the pressure but Im sure she still enjoys it all deep down.

Choco is already backing out of the tournament because no one can beat her in zako cup XD. Now it's Suisei's turn to enter hall of fame.
That and even going and losing becoming too much effort
Sui-chan Retiring after winning twice
Choco-sen Retiring after Placing last every time ( Based )
Sometimes the pressure and stress of expectations outweigh the happiness of winning.
she all like, "You can have the crown. You'll have to take it from my cold, dead hands, but you can have it."
