18:02 This symbolizes supernatural defense against serious harm true Indian warrior style. Because Billy throughout the movie thinks that the predator is a supernatural entity.
Watched this last night and it's still holds up! Fun Fact: Jean Claude van Damme played the Predator in some parts of the movie, but quit production as he was tired of wearing the original suit which looked like a giant mutated lizard insect hybrid. He even wanted to kickbox Arnold but the producers refused. Kevin Peter Hall, 7'2" was cast instead respectively, as he was more of an intimidating opponent for Arnold's character Dutch. Half the cast and crew got food poisoning except for Arnold and Director McTiernan whom ate Spaghetti O's and PBJ Sandwiches. Sonny Landham RIP whom played Billy, hired a bodyguard to protect people from him as he was prone to violent outbursts. He even said in an interview that, "We weren't making a movie, this was a survival story for all of us." It rained for 2 weeks, making filming more difficult. It was 110 degrees in the shade while it was 42 degrees at night.
Van Damme was fired, released, or let go because he was complaining about the stunts that was required while wearing very top heavy Predator suit. He was also struggling with hydration. The movie people also used a stunt person after Van Damme was gone. Who then hurt himself doing one of the stunts while wearing the suit. After that, they got Kevin Peter Hall and redesigned the suit.
Easily one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's best performances, and one of the greatest action movies of all time. This is a franchise that consists of movies, comics, graphic novels and videogames, all including crossovers with the Alien franchise. The actor playing Dillon, Carl Weathers, played Apollo Creed in the Rocky franchise

LoreRunner did an absolutely fascinating in-depth analysis of the production and storytelling of this movie. Seriously increased my appreciation of this movie.
The actor that played Billie "There's something out there." Was so violent and unpredictable on set they had to hire body guards to protect other people from him. To keep the actor in line so he didn't attack other actors or crew.
I love your reactions! Your joy and excitement, but also how you pay attention to the details and figure things out. There have been many sequels but I like Predators from 2010 that references this movie, and has a stellar cast.
What a cast! Jesse Ventura was an ex operator and actually bigger than Arnold, and they were never filmed standing together! Bill duke was an amazing actor...juliard trained and amazing in American jiggolo! Billy was a complete wildman and had 2 guys for 24/7 security. Not for his protection but to keep him out of trouble!! The helicopter pilot is the Predator! They gave him one speaking line, so he could get a film credit and his sag card! There's many more predator films and Alien vs Predator! There's also a much larger tie in here. Aliens predators humans Replicants and Terminators are all related by a race of beings called Engineers, discussed in the movie Prometheus! In the 80-90s, Arnold was the absolute movie king of the one liners/memes! So many to repeat, but the most repeated line and meme in history is, " I'll be back!" Hard to believe this movie is almost 40 years old! A future governor of California, Minnesota and candidate for Kentucky in this!
The funniest part is if you compare the feats of Predators in other lore, this predator was holding back big time in hand to hand. I think it was merely toying with him. Predators in the comics can tear through metal with their bare hands and tear a human head off with one hand.
Actor, Shane Black who plays Hawkins is a screenwriter and director. Shane written screenplays for Lethal Weapon 1&2 plus other movies. Plus, Shane directed 2018's The Predator, direct sequel to this one and Predator 2.

I love how this movie transitions from a high octane action movie to a pulse pounding *slasher flick,* complete with a knife wielding mask-clad killer.
The camouflage and shoulder cannon are tools, not really cowardice. Not any difference than a deer hunter using camouflage and a bow. The lower trophies are just skinned, the more worthy ones are taken and displayed in their trophy room (you see one in Predator 2). The more dangerous the kill, the greater the honor, and greater prestige in their society as a hunter.
they filmed this in mexico. the cast and crew stayed at hotels that had special water filters in the hotel so they could all safely drink the water. well, the filters at one of the hotels broke down and they didn't know it and made the cast and a lot of the crew sick with a bad case of traveler's diarrhea. as you can imagine... this created a humorous situation on set... 6 badass, jacked out, alpha males holding their britches as they scurry off to the bathrooms in between takes of high octane, testosterone fueled action sequences.

Predator 2 is the next one then Aliens vs Predators and then finally the movie Predators. The Predator race is very honorable, they are individual hunters, and the young Predators will have to go to a place like Earth or another "hunting ground" to earn their warrior status among the Predator civilization. They are a warrior hunter species.

The actor who played the predator was also the helicopter pilot at the end of the movie. He also played Bigfoot in the Henderson movie sadly he passed away due to HIV in 1995
Also fun fact about this film. The helicopter pilot at the very end of the film that says "my God" is the actor who played the predator inside the suit the whole time. His name was Kevin Peter Hall
Fact #1: When the Yautja, official Predator fan name for the species, leave skinned victims, it’s designated to scare away others and mark its territory. After that, any quarry is fair game. Fact #2: Mud does actually conceal body heat. But it only last for so long. Fact #3: The late Kevin Peter Hall stood taller at around 7’2. Like your reactions. Please watch the criminally underrated Predator 2. If you are really intrigued with the Yautja, check out another RUclips channel called Schizofenik.
OK, if the Predator skinned his victims to mark his territory and scare away others, since he kills people I would think he's using those bodies as bait to lure other trophies in. A hunter doesn't push his prey away, he draws them closer to him. I've done a little deer hunting in my time and you don't put buck urine in the rut (mating season) leading deer away from your stand. You put it around his scrape (kinda like a calling card for does) to lure bucks around that area. And when mating season is over your best trick to use is a food plot (a piece of land with deers favorite food on it, corn, rye grass, etc.). I really could go on for hours about this but I think I got my point across. Unless you know more than me about tricks hunters use to draw in what they're hunting. Maybe a comic book written by someone who's never been hunting therefore knows absolutely nothing about what he's doing. Not trying to pick a fight with you, just sharing some knowledge.
I saw this one in the theater when I was in high school. This movie is just as good today as it was then. Those practical effects on the Predator are still amazing.
wow @ 22:00 he hits it right on the head, they actually catching so many deep things about the Predators culture it's quite impressive & I really hope they watched some of the sequels!
Love how smart the Predator is.. when they catch him in the trap and he jumps to the tree and then reveals himself while hanging..he was basically saying ( to me atleast how I see it) " You wanna see me? I'll let you see what I am".. I think he knew they were curious to see what the hell it was
Nice reaction. Know that Predator sequels do not have Arnold in them, but there are plenty of entertaining Arnold movies out there - Terminator I/II, True Lies, Kindergarten Cop, Twins and Total Recall are some of my favorites. Keep the good work, thanks.
The predators also adapt real quick to weakness's found. In both Predator 2 and Predators they try hiding the body heat with suits or mud again and the predator has ways around that
How refreshing to watch a reaction to this with ppl who can interpret and understand and pay attention to details! Keep up your great work!

There are about a dozen or so 90s action flicks that are legendary.
This movie still stands up with its amazing sound design, action and music. GET TO DA CHOPPA! It's fun watching movies with you two!
Y'all are great. Love the reactions! Can't wait for you all to see parts 2 and 3 (Predators)
Really good choice for movie reactions, I hope you will do the sequels too! 😉👌
really great review and reactions guys:)
Fun fact the actor who played Hawkins the one that predator that killed first direct ironman 3 and he wrote the screenplay of both lethal weapon 1&2
The Black guy in the helicopter at the end of the movie rescuing Arnold is the guy who played the Predator. RIP Kevin Peter Hall. He stood 7'2
You two are still great and that's a great movie😀
Great reaction! Fan from Brazil! South of Brazil close to the border of Uruguay!
good reaction. One of my favorite movies and my favorite Hollywood monster character.
Great reaction! I saw this in the theatre in 1987 and loved it back then- one of my favourite Schwarzenegger films!
Hope you continue with Predator 2.
True Lies and Twins are classic Arnold movies.
The writer of this movie 🎥 wrote a fantastic flick called Judgment night starring Emilio Estevez
Now you need to watch Predator 2 to get more of the lowdown on the Predator's history and arsenal of weaponry. :)
This channel is next level man! *marian voice
Predator 2 is also fantastic set in LA 1997 (7 years in the future from its 1990 release)!
Great movie. You should watch The Running Man 1987 another Arnold movie that came out the same year but overshadowed by this movie success.
I hope you continue to watch the Predator movies as they also connect to the Alien movie franchise.
wow @ 22:00 he hits it right on the head, they actually catching so many deep things about the Predators culture it's quite impressive & I really hope they watched some of the sequels!
Love how smart the Predator is.. when they catch him in the trap and he jumps to the tree and then reveals himself while hanging..he was basically saying ( to me atleast how I see it) " You wanna see me? I'll let you see what I am".. I think he knew they were curious to see what the hell it was
I love everything about you two. So much fun to watch. Thank you for the fun content guys!
Red Letter Media called this a horror film disguised as every dad’s favorite action flick.
Also Dutch who is a badass with badass guys is like fuck this let's get outta here after the trap debacle..he even tells Dillion " you can't win this"
Nice reaction. Know that Predator sequels do not have Arnold in them, but there are plenty of entertaining Arnold movies out there - Terminator I/II, True Lies, Kindergarten Cop, Twins and Total Recall are some of my favorites. Keep the good work, thanks.
You guys crack me up! Love your reactions.
Make sure to watch all the other Predator AND Alien movies (they're part of the same universe/franchise)!
The predators also adapt real quick to weakness's found. In both Predator 2 and Predators they try hiding the body heat with suits or mud again and the predator has ways around that
Nice reaction to a classic action sci fi movie.
