My daughter told her teacher that I drank and drove all the time when they had a class about the dangers of drinking and driving. She finally clarified that I drank Diet Coke. You gotta love em
I had the same thoughts as a kid when I told my father not to drink and drive while we were out on errands. He clarified that it was Coke or Dr Pepper, that he would never drink alcohol while driving. I was like, "Ohh, okay!" Gotta love it when parental units give clarification to kids who take things so seriously and to heart! 😅😅

i think your kid making shit up that could get you in serious legal trouble is like the one scenario in which it would be completely acceptable to "lose it" lmao. i guess i don't know for sure but i feel like depending on the state you could actually potentially risk losing the kid over something like this, or at the very least having to content with CPS for a not-insignificant amount of time

@@hunterv9259 I think it's kind of interesting how you could justify losing it with kids (exaggerated response and being mean to them) with this line of thinking in a lot of situations, because kids can put their parents in potentially dangerous situations a lot by just being kids. In this specific instance, I personally feel that it would be inappropriate to lose it because it's kind of easy to explain the truth - just show the cops that you don't grow a lot of weed in your backyard if they come to your place eventually. Ironically, you would solve this issue the best way possible just by being calm and reasonable, and nobody would think anything of you, but if you lost it, you could potentially reveal some negative side of you (depending on how bad of a response you had).

She was misinformed about "weed". I grow dandelions for eating and for the bees. That is weed. Then there is Heal-all, another "weed". Pick which "weed" you like to grow, don't throw my weeds into that other box. Someday, those medicinal weeds might save her life. The ones just trying to grow to help us. Poor child not knowing the difference. Adults can be so confusing. The glyphosate they use to kill her weed is killing her.

Growing up, my grandpa called me the boss, and every time-consuming someone said I was bossy. With the biggest grin and most innocent voice, I'd say. "Yep," with so much confidence, everyone usually laughed.
As I got older, my big brother did start calling me the real B word, as siblings do as teenagers, and once more, only this time it was with confidence and seriousness I told him. "Yes, I am." After awhile it went from and insult to a joke, then Supernatual aired and we do should have sued...he'd been calling me Bitch, and I'd call him a Jerk years before Sam and Dean Winchester did. 😅

@@cleverclogs2244 Some weeds cause allergic reactions if you touch them. They burn pretty badly. Also, weeds choke out some other flowers and plants you may be growing. They take over the space and the soil. So again... she's right. THAT weed can be bad for you.

I can assure you, as an early educator, the teacher knew exactly what she was referring to. She spoke to the parent about the weed and I'm sure they laughed together.
Had the teacher actually thought there was WEED being grown, no parent contact would have been made. As mandated reporters we're trained to report 1st. Don't ask questions to the parents. Had this been an actual situation and the teacher says, "Hey, Jane told us you're growing weed." The chances of the kid never coming back to school or being punished for 'telling' are too high to risk.

Yeah but the school and police aren't as "innocent" ... I had CPS on me for 6 months cause "Mom was a smoker" they taught my child that cigarettes were drugs. Screw the schools and the police. I dealt with CPS for over 6 months and had to fight them for over a damned year over a cigarette. All while a neighbor was literally NOT feeding their 2 girls for days at a time.

I won a Mother's Day essay contest in 3rd grade. I wrote stuff like "My mom lets me go to the park anytime I want".... and "If I don't want to go to a party I'm invited to, she won't make me go." Overall....I just sort of made it sound like she didn't care what in the heck I did or where I went (not far from the truth in the '80s, honestly, it was a different time...as long as we abided by the street light rule) and helped me skip out on lame parties. There actually wasn't a single party I was ever invited to that I ever skipped out on. I was presenting that scenario as a hypothetical to represent how unstrict she was, but I don't think it came across that way and is probably why I won. I sounded like a little jacka**. lol I can imagine the editors chuckling. There was a winner from all the 3rd grade classes in the district and we got our pictures in the newspaper, posing with our moms. She and I were posed right in the middle. lol Of course, each of our essays were printed too....
My nephew did this exact thing to his grandma! He had to draw a pic of her doing her favorite thing and he just drew her conked out in bed.
