    Cool. I think I like those black plastic traps better than those original ones. We most certainly have bunch of mice around the project house. We have already taken steps trying to block them getting in the house but more needs to be done. I haven't seen rats yet. I like the box you created for the trap too. Thanks for the information. Have a great Sunday, Steve 👍😀👋

    I started using the plastic trap at the trailer last year and I like it. Not perfect, sometimes they get away but over all it works well👍
    Thanks Steve✌

    I set one of my live traps about an hour ago. Yep, no small ones here in McKinney Texas! I haven't seen a mouse around here in over 20 years. We have been lucky and they haven't been in the house except for one baby possum last year, he came in through an open door. I think over the years I have used all these, and some sticky traps. Sadly I have snapped a few birds. Good trap info Steve. Yeah, we don't use the little traps here in Texas! Over the years, rats chewed up the wires in 2 of my work vehicles and they chewed up the wires in my air conditioner at home, not cheap to repair.

    I learned a trick from a person that made a huge difference on catching both mice and/or rats. He said to take cat food pellets and "hot glue" them into the trap so that the mice have to fight the trapping mechanism! Works everytime!!!

    Wrote out a response and it disappeared, so here I am again lol. Love me a bucket trap. Never caught so many mice so fast with those. Just gotta check em daily. Buddy of mine had a wicked mouse problem at his cottage, snap traps weren't cutting it. Put out two bucket traps and caught 15 mice in one night lol

    Good afternoon Steve, we place our traps in a coffee container, with a hole on the side. That way we won't trap a bird by mistake. Like you we like the black plastic traps. Great video! Have a good one, Ben 👋😎👍🍻

    That’s the way I like it too Steve. I don’t like having mice and rats and also raccoons around here. Them raccoons rely like them recycle bins we have and I heard one playing around just last night…..That was a good explanation of all them traps….CHEERS

      Hi Gator
      Most around me have no idea they have rats and mice as they leave piles of wood lying around and huge compost bins . I definitely don't catch as many as 5 years ago but I haven't stopped catching them.

    Hey Steve, time to change the channel name to "The Mad Trapper" lol Raccoons now this! Great tips on the traps and how to adjust them. The box is a great idea too, especially with the sun porch 🌅🌄overhang-man, you think of everything! I keep a few traps set in the crawl space of our house because in the winter, the odd rat will come in. I'm going to make some of those sun porch enclosures for mine too. The largest rats I've ever seen were on the beach at night in Lisbon Portugal. I think they were around a sewer outfall pipe but I remember walking past on the road and looking down at huge rats, I'd say the size of a half-grown cat!! I started using Pine Sol to deter mice in our cabin a few years ago and this year there isn't a single one around where before there were dozens. I pour some in glass bottles and punch holes in the lid to let the smell out over time. I set several bottles around the inside of the camp and pour a dose of Pine Sol at the door threshold and at any potential entry point too. They haven't been back! Wonderful info in this video, Steve...watch where you put your fingers around these traps...you'll need them all so you can still bring us this kind of content! 🦝🐭🦫🐿🐻🦆🦨🐰

      @SteveRobReviews  2 месяца назад +1

      HAHAHA , ok I'm going to try the pine sol so does it evaporative and how much do you put in a jar to last a year plus it does freeze but an inch or so in a jar wouldn't break a glass jar ?

    • @EverydayProjects
      @EverydayProjects 2 месяца назад +1

      @@SteveRobReviews I put about 1/2 a glass bottle from spaghetti sauce and it doesn’t break the bottle during deep cold in Quebec. This fall, about 9 months later, there was still about an inch left. Check the cabin maintenance video part 1 and the elusive eastern baloney. I sat at the table at the camp last fall and had a rant that included a talk about Pine Sol. Cheers

    I use the Victors that have the yellow plastic paddles. Where the the retaining arm sits in a tapered compartment. Where the end sits in the taper determines it's sensitivity. Very simple and reliable and quick. Made the mistake of using a glue trap, once. Mouse literally pulled it's own guts out trying to get away. Then l also tried a live trap. Just don't forget to check it like l did. Looked like something off CSI. Two mummified mice with one partially eaten. I guess "live" is debatable. Cheers.

    How's she goin'? Mice can sure cause a lot of damage if they get in your building. I have had to rewire outlets several times due to critter damage. I'm not too bothered with rats out here (except tree rats which I know are close to your heart). I think rats go to where the food supply is easy to get to and in the woods it's not as easy for them as it is in town. Nice demo and explanation of the various traps and setups Steve! Thanks and take 'er easy!!
