    I did all that back in the day. I still have all the tools. Now all my personal and business vehicles use Discount Tire who fixes the tires for free. Nice DIY tool upgrade Steve. Again, your mind must always be running at 100 miles an hour! I can understanding still doing this to off road tires.

      Hi Papa
      It's a lot different in different locations so being aware of the type of repair to a tire can be challenging.

    I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I like your tool, Steve! LOL The stop is a great idea and you're right...why leave a whole wack of plug inside the tire when it isn't necessary or useful. Another fantastic video!!

    I've used both types for years. Started after paying a garage to fix a tire only for them to use a plug. Figured l could do that too. Never had a problem. FYI, they do recomend that you twist the tool around a few times to make a bit of a ball on the inside. Cheers.

    I use tire plugs all the time. I use safety seal plugs and the Safety Seal KAP30 - Auto/LT Deluxe Kit - It has many of the features you tool does and it only costs like $50. I also has a depth setter so you can used it with shorter plugs.

    Hey Steve. They are great for off road use. Good fix for your vehicle too, they'll get ya home but one should consider an inside patch or replacement. But I must admit, in my younger years I ran some scary tires and never had a problem 😅

    I think the plug is better than Fix-A-Flat and similar. Tire shops have to be really careful if you use those cans on a tire, but if you use a plug it doesn't cause them a problem.

      @Sylvan_dB Hi Sylvan
      Like most businesses out there , they are run in part by insurance companies that underwright their insurance liabilities so a shop must keep up to industry standards for repair procedures for their location. As a diyer it's much different but the liabilities are still there. Cheers 👍

    I use the plugs in the tread area all the time. I won't use them in the sidewall but have never had an issue, and I use them on my highway tires too. Like you though, I won't use them on my new Silverado especially since America's Tire will patch them for free (and you do NOT have to had bought the tires from them).

    The patch is a more permanent fix. I put a plug kit in my car for emergencies so I can get somewhere to have it patched or replaced. I plugged my lawn tractor tire that had a splinter of wood in it but it still leaks. I may try again or try taking it off & patching it.
