Nile and this band line up, was amazing. No one comes anywhere close to Nile's very distinctive and amazing guitar playing. Exceptional producer arranger & performer. Period. The man is gold.
90caliber Macher - I heard in a documentary, that his stepfather said something to the effect that “Less is more”. Bernard Edwards himself, was an amazing multi-instrumentalist, and musical arranger. His bass playing alone, made him one the top bassists of all time, too.

Jill Jones (the 🔥 girl in the short dress) is also the blonde girl who famously and tearfully tells Prince “hi” after his legendary performance of “Purple Rain” in the movie of the same name.
They're singing "...dancin" instead of the more funky "...danSAN!!", as in the original version. Something is missing here. Believe me. I know! My band -in which I was tge drummer & lead singer), covered this in the 70's, & as a DJ, I mixed the original thousands of times.
THIS IS REAL MUSIC. UNLIKE THE TRASH THEY MAKE NOWADAYS, THESE KIDS SHOULD REALLY PAY ATTENTION TO NILE RODGERS AND. MAY GOD BLESS HIS SOUL, BERNARD EDWARDS. REAL MASTERS OF THEIR CRAFT.
Francisco Fuentes.... Just because you listen to shit doesn't mean the rest of us do or that great music isn't made now. Whenever one hears the 'they used to' rhetoric, you know you're dealing with an imbecile. By the way, using uppercase to make a comment is another sign of a dumb fuck.
You're right. This is real music, back when there were bands playing the music and not drum machines, etc, but we gotta move with the times. I'm 56 years old and I miss this music, but gotta also acknowledge that there has been good music made the the disco era. Just like today, there was also some garbage that was put out during the disco era too and I'm sure people who were in their 40s and 50s back the talked about how much better the music from the 1950s was. It's good that we have sites like RUclips so we can relive our youths as much as we like!!!
In a class by themselves. Bernard & Nile, and all of them. They rival the Bee Gees for classiest, highest quality recordings of the original disco period - which is my favorite period, in popular music.
They 'rival' the Bee Gees. Please. Chic are the ones to 'rival', not the other way around. The Bee Gees rival Chic like a mobility scooter rivals a Ferrari.
Comment #400 Jill Jones is HOT!!! Both Ladies do a great job along with the rest of them.....Congo player takes me back 2 Woodstock 69. (He played with Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock). Guitar player's white guitar reminds me of Hendrix white guitar at Woodstock! "Peace, Love & Soul"....."Keep On Trucking".

This just good good music to dance with your. Lovely. Lady they do not make music that any more. Good music wish the 60s and 70s. Were back again. Work hard dance hard with a love lady yaaaaaaaaaaa
I'm glad you like all these funk bands. These ones are some of my favorites, always from my point of view, but, fortunately, there are many others else. Let me, please, give you an advice: using the RUclips web and clicking, for instance, one of the songs sung by EW&F, you'll be able to discover others funk singers and funk bands (the list is endless). Try to listen to "Education wrap" by Community people (it's a mixture (mix) of funk, jazz and R&B) and you'll tell me...Realize that all the time we are talking about music composed in the seventies, for me the best dance music ever "made". Keep in touch
Oh!!! This is my Jam!! Thanks for posting this FJM.. I was a huge CHIC fan back in the day and this brings back memories ... BE was one of those "Be like Mike" bassists for me when I started playing in 77...
+Diane Evans Además de la guitarra, sección de viento (trompetas, saxofones, etc.) y bateria, no menospreciemos al bajo y los teclados (piano). Un abrazo.
+Diane Evans Hi Diane! Estoy hablando en castellano (Spanish from Spain).I beg your pardon but I only speak, write and read in Spanish and Catalan (I am using the Google translator now). Anyway, in my previous message I told you that the bass and the keyboards are also very, very, very good.

Amazing that Bernard Edwards died later that night. His playing was flawless even though he must have been very ill the whole night....
