That, for the most part, was how much BETTER the quality of music was when I was a little kid. The whole point to releasing singles was to provide a "coming attraction" for the rest of the LP. Because people's listening sensibilities were much more accepting of different flavors on the sound combination spectrum, you could do what Stevie Wonder (and sooooooo many others) did back in the 60's and 70's (and even before, to some degree): come up with different sound (musical ideas) and verbal (lyrical ideas) that do compliment the "hit songs", but at the same time have a style and attraction all their own. Songs In The Key Of Life IS (understandably) Stevie's diamond standard magnum opus. But Talking Book as a whole (and THIS song in particular) deserves an entire flower garden unto itself.

Stevie Wonder was so good. When you bought the album, you played it over and over and over!
To me, Talking Book will always be my favorite Stevie Wonder album and one of my top 10 albums of all time in any genre
