Just watched it. I like the songs you picked from Folie A Deux for your top 10. It was cool to see Gold Standard and Headfirst both in there. Definitely underrated songs. I really like Tiffany Blews too. For the longest time, I didn't like Fall Out Boy but last year I gave them another chance by checking out their first couple albums and now I love them lol. Not sure what is my favorite Fall Out Boy album is though.

Folie A Deux is truly a delight to listen to, especially front to back (the way that 20 Dollar Nose Bleed transitions into West Coast Smoker still hits me like it did the first time I listened to the album)
Tais Grim I’m so glad someone else felt the need to bring this up! That transition has always given me chills I love it so much
Between Lies I know! It's so fitting to both tracks, I love how you can hear West Coast Smoker's first drum beats at the last second of Nose Bleed after the instrumental in the background finishes to build back up and also how you hear the "I SAAAAAAAAAID" carry on for the first seconds of West Coast Smoker, right before the guitars kick in. It's definitely one of my favourite moments in the album.

No, it's my favourite album of their's.
Not one song on it is bad. In my opinion, some are worse than others, like The Mighty Fall and Where did the Party Go, but they are still really good songs, and are completely redeemed by the likes of The Phoenix, Alone Together, Just One Yesterday, Death Valley, Young Volcanoes, and my personal favourite on the album, Save Rock and Roll.

For me, Infinity on High and Folie á Deux are such high-level albums with such beautiful tracks and complex construction that I couldn't pick one over the other. I love listening to each track off of Infinity on High, but I equally love listening to Folie á Deux beginning to end.

Though Mania has its standouts such as Bishop's Knife Trick and Hold Me Tight or Don't, the album falls short. I love the hip-hop influence but I miss the guitar and the pop-rock vibe of the priot.

I love this album, but its not Fall Out Boy yet. The angry lyrics of teen angst are ones I'll always love, but its not the Fall Out Boy we came to know and love.
5. American Beauty/American Psycho
I love the pop-rock vibes of this album.The lyrics are amazing, especially as many came from old drafts and it honestly has a lot of bangers which were all rather successful
4. From Under the Cork Tree
This album is an essential, does it even need explanation?
3. Infinity on High
This is truly one of my favorites from Jay-Z at the beginning to the ballad of Golden, to Bang the Doldrums, to its absolute killer bonus tracks. It slaps

This is an unpopular opinion, but it sent them back into the mainstream and the features are killer.
1. Folie a Deux
This album is their best because it was ahead of its time and it deals with complex themes. Its one of the albums that changed my life.
Patrick’s vocals on Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner gives me chills every time. When he sings “you look so good in blue” I get so hyped I’m in love with that song
Nice job Jon! I would agree with your list except I would personally switch MANIA and American Beauty (I don't care for either, but I like more individual tracks on MANIA).
Learning that the band broke up as a result of Folie a deux and that they actually didn't like it was incredibly heart breaking. I hope they grow to appreciate the genius that was that album and find the inspiration to do it again.

That's my exact list, man. Folie is really underrated but Infinity is like my 2nd favorite album of all time.
My ranking of FOB albums is slightly in the exact order of their discography.
1. Take This To Your Grave - I just love that raw emo punky early 2000s sound.
2. From Under The Cork Tree - This used to be my all-time favourite for me but then I got super obsessed with TTTYG.
3. Infinity On High - It is not a bad album by any means, but I remember this was the period where I started falling out of love with Fall Out Boy, I have grown to like this album but I do think a lot of the songs do sound similar.
4. So Much (for) Stardust - Honestly this is the first FOB album I have liked in a very long time. I think it is by far the best album they have done since 2008.
5. Folie a Deux - On initial listen I did not like this album as I felt it diverted way too much from their earlier sound. There are songs on this album I love like I Don't Care, America's Suitehearts, 20 Dollar Nosebleed and What A Catch, Donnie but overall I still do not click with the album despite listening to it multiple times.
6. Save Rock n Roll, American Beauty/American Psycho and Mania - These albums are probably the reason why I haven't really listened to new Fall Out Boy music for 15 years. I only like one or two songs on each of these albums. It is not FOB's best and that is because none of these albums sounds anything like Fall Out Boy. This is why I believe So Much (for) Stardust is a return to form with a nice mix of their old and new sound.

'Folie a Deux' is an absolute masterpiece. While I do love 'I Don't Care', I was so happy to see them do 'Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes' at Leeds Festival this year. It's amazing how the fans have come around on it.

I really appreciate your list, great reasoning! A fan can give constructive criticism and understand what a band needs to improve on, and I'm sure the band members appreciate that mindset too. Even if they didn't do so well on one album, you can still recognise what they did that was good, too! It's not hate. Some people can't get a grip on that.

It's one of those cases where it doesn't fit in with the rest of the albums, so the fan base automatically rejects it and why would non fans listen to it if fans didn't even like it? Also the bonus tracks are so good it hurts that they aren't on the album

I hate ranking these albums because I love things about each one, and Mania is one that just grows on you. Wilson, Bishop's Knife Trick, and really the whole album. Ugh. However, Folie is and always should be number one. I fell in love with that thing when everyone was dissing it, and it drove me crazy. I have a tattoo of the cover of Folie - a true masterpiece.

Mania is their best post-haitus album to date, 100%. They felt lost with Save Rock and Roll and AB/AP, like they didn't know what sound they wanted to have... but with Mania, they created their music with a purpose, and knew what they wanted it to sound like. Also, "I wonder if your therapist knows everything about me" is JUST as iconic as "I'm just a notch in your bedpost but you're just a line in a song"
That said, as a fan of the group since the VERY beginning, here is my personal ranking:

Very happy to see Folie à Deux at the top. I was sort of an anti-fan of them for years for whatever reason, but my friend burned me a copy of this cd and I fell completely in love. I was curious to see how it would fit into your list since you are a big FOB fan. I don’t get how you don’t love TSSF but I agree with you 100% about FOB.
