    What a great build! 😃 That moment at the very end when the Lazy Susan spins while he talks... Epic!

    Another nice project. I like it when people are able to reuse a jig they've made for other projects.

    I like how you sandwich different woods in the middle, going to try that soon, Great video

    The spinny doodad is commonly referred to as a swivel bearing.

    Every time I make a new cutting board I want to try that. Every time I chicken out. Very nice job.

    Another great project. Great job on the video editing too. I like that you show the different times of day that you are working on your project. Of course I like the spinning stop motion of the lazy susan at the end.

      When not using a fence, it makes me feel very uncomfortable to dive wood into the bit without it. Thanks for the comment!

    Terrific skills sir and a wonderful project. Looking for this for my daughter's book shelf. Thank you. Have a doubt... can i cut the curve by making multiple passes of router with a straight router bit?

    I am thinking about making a Lazy Susan for my Design Technology project, but it will have a yin yang symbol on it.
    I don't understand how I will get it to turn. I was thinking about gluing acrylic onto the wood in order to get the yin yang look, but I don't know about that with the screws and everything.
    What exactly did you do to make the wavy line in the middle. Also what did you stick in there.
    How can you get the wood into a perfect circle?
    Sorry about all the questions.

    I wish I made this when I took woodworking class in high school.
    Also, creative commons license but Standard RUclips License? Might want to change that around in the video settings.

      +Calvin Hodgson Two different licenses. One is the license for my video/RUclips and the other CC license is for music use.

    Just curious ...what type of screws did you use, wood or metal? Width, length ?

    • @GarageWoodworks
      @GarageWoodworks  7 лет назад

      Wood screws were used for attaching to wood and sheet metal screws were used when going into the metal. I don't recall the dimensions - this was given away.

    I am trying to make a lazy susan shoe rack with those exact same swivel, although I am a bit confused on how to screw the swivel onto the wood on each side.
    I have to make holes first, just like you did right?
    It makes it kinda hard since I have already assembled the rack, I just need to stack them up, and screw in the swivel. Can you help please?
    I am asking you because you are the only one who is using the same swivel I have every other video are using different kinds!

    • @mbaucom01
      @mbaucom01 9 лет назад

      Mark your 4 holes on the base, then drill holes in the base for attaching to the top half. Attack the barring plate to the bottom, then, attach the top through the holes you drilled. You can then fill the holes with wood paste or wheels, or whatever foot pieces you wish.

    sorry to ask, but I'm new to woodworking. Why can't you just flip the board and run it through the plainer? why use a hand plain? If you don't have a hand plain, would you have to rip the board to fit the plainer, then do a glue up?

    • @GarageWoodworks
      @GarageWoodworks  10 лет назад +1

      No apology necessary. At the start, both faces are in rough form - not flat. We need one flat face to reference down in the planer. We create that first flat face at the jointer and with a hand plane. If you don't have a hand plane or a jointer you could flatten one face with a router, jig and a set of rails. Google flattening with a router.
