As a non-power user the base model M2 is just fine. There is always swap memory for the rare occasions I need more than 8gb. Its a great everyday ultra-portable laptop and I will probably keep mine for at least 3-4 years.
I bought a Macbook Air m2 13" with 16Gb of RAM due to the difference of price between this one to a Macbook Pro M2 Pro with 16Gb also. I was really worried about overheating since ALL the reviews I've seen are unfair. They run benchmarks and say: "This Macbook overheats and it's not for you if: You do this and this. But they're not dealing with some real daily uses, real tasks that should not be a concern, because we trust that Apple knew about this problem's IF someone uses 100% of the machine, for intensive workload. These kind of videos are really harmful for the community. I say that because I haven't found a video that show something close to my daily work, which is: Using Adobe Illustrator (Not heavily) Using Photoshop (Not heavily too, just minor retouchs with a few boards and effects) Using Multiple browser tabs (10-15 daily) And also, background apps, such as Spotify, Telegram, Slack For my use, I believe I'm not even getting close to overheating. But all the other reviews made me feel really worried on that investment I made. Videos like yours, with no sensationalism, real use, are really useful for users like me. Thank u for that!
Do other laptops have the keyboard to screen imprint or dust being pressed onto screen issue? Assuming most high end laptops have very tight tolerances.
MacBook Air 16 gb ram 512gb ssd - I'm studying right now and I'm using M2 Air even for 4k editing. For a student it's better to have 16GB of RAM and bigger SSD space. Also Air is way more portable than Pro model.
Hello I decided to buy the M2 MBA 16gb Ram and 512 Gb SSD, I mainly want it to use for my 2d mobile game development where I will be using unity game engine, photoshop, blender and 10-12 chrome browser tabs simultaneously. All reviews that I found on Internet complains that it overheats quickly and CPU throttles. So should I go with this one or put extra money and get a Macbook Pro? I also really liked how M2 MBA have great battery life and is lightweight.
The M2 Air looks really neat so I could definitely see how you could go with that. I was gonna mention that Amazon is actually selling a lot of refurbed 14 inch M1 Pros with 1tb, 16 GB RAM for around $1400. I actually had ordered the m2 15-inch Air refurbed from the Apple store, and while I liked it, the performance is so much better on the m1 pro, and it was actually about $300 cheaper with the same storage and RAM configuration I had. I do find myself late in the night thinking, "what if I got that m2 air" in light of the lightness and battery, but overall I am content with saving that money (haha).
It depends on how advanced your 2D game is going to be. If it's just a regular mobile game I think MacBook Air is gonna be enough for you. Being honest the difference between m2 Pro and m2 Air in context of performance is negligible. As someone said earlier, It's not worth it to pay extra money for PRO model if you are not going to use extra ports or dual screen setup. M2 Air is a beast.

Thank you for your comment! It means a lot to me, glad that you like my video and find it interesting!
A big reason is you have 16GB of RAM. Apple RAM is more efficient and with 16GB of RAM gives more room for extra efficient space.

Neither my previous HP nor Lenovo laptops had this problem. I'm facing this issue for the first time in MacBook Air.
What is better for a student: MacBook Air 16 gb ram 512gb ssd or macbook pro m3 Pro base model?

8GB of RAM and Power user doesn't go well together over the long-term. Should have gotten 16GB of RAM. Rookie move.
This is the review of Base 8GB model, not 16. I'm literally saying that 16 is better in the end of the video 💀
@poweruser.official I saw that at the end, but you still bought 8GB of RAM. Not worth the money.
macOS 🤢🤮
