Gabrielle, you’re hitting the mark on your posts! The recent podcasts and capsules are so helpful! Dressing for ME has been a transition! I’m 70… just stay with grandkids sometimes, and care for my mom. I’ve come a long way in not trying to dress for others! Dressing better, even at home…makes ME FEEL better! I’m the one who buys the clothes, so why shouldn’t I be the one to enjoy the good feelings that a nice outfit can express! Reflecting on how I want to dress each day has become fun, and gives me energy! Can’t wait to see your future guest! Thanks for all your content! It’s GREAT! ❤
This is so so wonderful to hear, thank you for sharing it! I couldn't agree more, there's so much personal joy when we wear things for ourselves and feel good getting dressed. I think you'll really like the guest next week
You are my absolute fave style RUclipsr! Honestly I loved your Kitchener and Kibbe content and am always down to see more … but I always loved that you took it in your own path, you never claimed mastery over their ideas but always showed your unique talents. I honestly love all these workbooks and style guides etc and I am hoping you do more visuals to go along with it. ( like showing us how you might do stuff like find things that fit with dream styles etc or adapt ideas for casual outfits, particularly the latter)! But yeh, Gabi, this content is soooooo good! I am loving it!
This honestly made my day, thank you! I’ve definitely enjoyed making this content and I’m trying to find the balance of respecting systems I admire and finding authenticity in my own content. So thank you 😊
Man, if I do have to catch up with the new modules 😂 however, great contents as usual. My biggest why, at the moment is "why I need so much to find the specific style box I fit in?"; I was thinking about put on hold this pillar, to follow your suggestions to looking for answer in our daily photos and inspirarion boards. Super curious about the guest of the next episode!
That's the nice part of about the workbook, it's totally self-paced. When you a hit a style slump it's there to help you work out the problem. I think that's a great "why" to work on. I've felt that way in the past and for me, it was about validation that other people saw me the same way I saw myself. Not saying that's your case, but I think digging into this "why" can be very liberating. It allows you freedom to take what works and leave the rest
Very refreshing! I like this new direction you are going in. My biggest why was «why don’t I wear all the clothes I have and that I actually like». And there was just too many! Out of sight, of mind sort of thing. So I put a bunch in storage, and sold some, but the biggest change was having a weekly capsule wardrobe.I feel much less stressed about getting dressed and it’s all clothes I already had but could never find in the sea of clothes I prefer less. I still have clothes available in «inventory» ( two steps away from my so-called capsule» lol) but nice to have a few base items I can start from that are visually clear to me on a rack. Colored and patterened pieces were invited too ;) Less is more, despite what consummerism wants us to believe! Also bonus point: I hang up my clothes more often now as I have less clothes I use on a regular basis. No more floordrobe!
Yes, this is such a great win!! Knowing your clothing inventory makes you feel so much more connected to your style and less "lost" when deciding on an outfit. I think we all need to find the right balance for our closets and it sounds like you have!
💯 agree. I dress so much better after donating or storing 90% of my clothes. I forgot so many great items because so many options were cluttering my physical and mental space.
Thank you for your podcast, videos, and newsletters. While exploring the "whys" behind my style, I realized why my wardrobe feels "limited" and what I can do about it.
I find your new content interesting and informative, and totally support you wanting to find your own path of what only you personally can offer to your viewers. However, I absolutely loved your Kitchener Essence deep dives and continue to hope that you will one day go back and do the fill-in video(s) you had discussed possibly doing so that your earlier deep dives had more of the extra content and additional depth of information that was added in your later deep dive videos.
I really do appreciate that. I am considering turning some of the essence videos into blog posts just so people can easily access the images and I can correct anything that might be incorrect or lost in translation. Not sure if that would be helpful, but I'd probably try to fill in some of the gaps as well. It's something I'm mulling over.. How to be helpful without overstepping into the original creators territory or spreading any misinformation.
As I grew older my social circle shrank + I moved away from "keeping up with the Joneses". People in my close circle do not care about style. Among all the whys I always circle back to the main one - why bother? Problem is I still love beautiful clothes and colourful wardrobe brings me joy but at the same time I feel some sort of emptiness and meaninglessness - what's the point of putting effort into your art if where is noone to appreciate it? I don't share my style photos on social media and don't use internet that much. I have never dressed just for myself and I feel kinda lost. And your channel is also about style as self-expression so I don't know if my reply is relevant to your video at all.
I’m 70, and I understand your feelings! I just babysit for grandkids, and care for my mom. Other than that, I just go to grocery stores! 😂. I also like clothes, and my friends are not into style. I find that dressing up, just a little makes me feel better! It makes me walk a little taller and adds a tiny pep in my step! Sometimes just wearing a nicer t- shirt and pants, and steering away from slouchy home/ causal clothes can actually lift my spirits! Maybe that would work for you, too! 😀
I totally hear where you are coming from, and I don't mean to side step your question but wait until next week's episode with my guest. I think she can explain this reasoning in a fantastic way that might help you connect with your purpose in style. And then if you still feel that way, we can discuss further!
This is great advice. Honestly, my life isn't very exciting but learning to dress for me has helped me feel good in my daily life. I've learned to let go of "i need to make a wildly exciting outfit" and started to focus on "what can i wear that makes me feel good and i feel connected to"
Is it okay if I give a little suggestions if you could post a picture of suggestions (on Instagram, Pinterest or even a RUclips video - whatever feels good for you) about brands that are good for the romantic essence? (You did for some of the essences like the gamine - and it was so helpful for me since I found out I have gamine essence to some degree, but you didn’t add brand suggestions for the other essences). It would mean a lot. 👀😍😍🔥
I feel like your pace could be a little bit slower, I'm saying this because I love your podcast episodes and I want you to be as successful as possible 😁 nothing drastic but just a little bit of time to process the new information. (Of course it may just be me, in that case don't change anything just to please one listener haha 😁)
Sorry i love your video but i got to ask do you think you could find a pic where it looks like you have arms... Seriously not trying to troll i look forward to all your topics there informative. The pic is just creepy with no arms
Sorry I’m confused. The picture of me with the black dress? I’m sorry you find it creepy… I don’t have any intention of changing it at the moment though 😢
I clearly see her front arm & can tell she has a 2nd one due to seeing her shoulder so clearly. This isn't to sound rude, but that's a bit of a nit-picky personal problem that you may need to figure out how to accommodate on your own rather than asking HER to change because YOU are uncomfortable. Things like listening, but not looking at the photo or even things like looking at the photo until it no longer creeps you out because it feels totally neutral now could be 2 good options to start.

@@bellaheblan8479 Thank you for your kind response! 💗
I've taken almost similar steps as you just mixed a bit with an existential crisis 😆
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Thank you, Gabrielle! I will wait until the next episode.

I’ll try to do it at some point. I may put the essence video into articles for easier reference and corrections. So maybe I can do it then 🥰
@Gabriellearrudadesign
Thank you! Do Inform us on social medias etc when you do 👀🔥😍🤩

No I know I talk fast - I really appreciate your feedback. I’ll continue to work on it!
Also, if you click the round settings wheel on the video, playback speed options will appear, & you can choose to listen at a slower speed. 😊
