It's 2003, and the war on terror continues. On October 7, 2001, a U.S.-led coalition launched attacks on Taliban-controlled Afghanistan with an intense bombing campaign by American and British forces.
After an exhausting day of relentless fighting, your squad has managed to push back the enemy, but in the distance, the fighting continues.
Who knows what tomorrow will hold, but for now, It's time to get your head down for the night under the starry skies of Afghanistan.

As a vet of both Afghanistan and Iraq, this sounds more like Iraq; Baghdad to be more specific. In Afghanistan, at least where I was on both tours there 2011 and 2012, we were in such a remote areas away from large cities, the only gun fire we heard was directed at us. There was no sleeping. We were too busy returning fire.
However, in Baghdad, Iraq, 2005-2006, in a huge city of millions, there was always sporadic gunfire, day and night. And there was the occasional explosions from IEDs, mortars or rockets somewhere off in the distance...unless, once again, they were directed at us.
Iraq, 2009 and 2010, there was little gun fire, but still a lot of IEDs and VBIEDs (car bombs). The insurgents knew they couldn't go head to head in a gun battle, so they avoided those for the most part, but they had stepped up their attacks with new and more sophisticated explosives which were remotely detonated or victim activated. In other words, very little exchange of gun fire.
There was one night in Baghdad, when the sky came alive with thousands of tracers... we wondered, "What in THEE hell is going on"? and we thought we were under siege by the whole damn city... come to find out, Iraq had just beaten Syria in a soccer match and everyone was celebrating by firing their AK's up in the air... craziest looking and sounding shit ever.
@@rascalmatt6713Same when I was for New year in Lebanon, you could see the red trackers going up in the sky, and hear the sounds of the AK's from the taxi all over you too. Definitely a Moment I will remember all my life haha
it's okay, you had to promote democracy, Right?

2011-2012 Afghanistan. Pretty quiet at night until it wasn’t.
I thinks it’s very soothing but I’m with my uncle right now and he’s all crouched up on the floor and screaming, he must like it a lot then.
ASMR for PTSD
He good
Everybody gangster until you pause it but you can still hear it 😅
Some thoughts. As a veteran, I appreciate the distant gunfire and distant artillery mixed with the wind or rain of the night. A lull in the fighting where you half sleep and recover. One criticism… the close and louder gunfire would get me moving again, so you might want to tone that down.
I was there in 2011-2012 Helmend Province and I was outside of a village in a little area called the R3P, it was like a makeshift PB. Anyway you could hear some gun fire because we had units clearing the town. I dont remember crickets. Also the only fire we had was the burn pit. Radio chatter is on point, I was a Radio Operator myself. If only this came with "smell-o-vision" so you could smell the only good way to describe it is shit mixed with rotting potatoes/body odor smell.
I’m from Afghanistan and when i listened to this I really felt like i was in there 😊😊😊
I was sleeping, and in my dream, I could distinctly hear a Dshk heavy machine gun. So I was like, man this dream is going to be so awesome. But then the 50 cal right next to me responded to the TIC I was in, so I had to get up and go to work.
As a gun guy this is very soothing, have listened to the ww1 one before. The Sound of the Guns changed a lot. less muffled and more aggressive sonic booms.
Id love to see a "youre escorting a Bomber in a BF109" (but no enemy attack, just Route briefing and Radio chatter)
Happy to hear, I've noted your suggestion and will try and get around to it asap. Thanks!
Playing this near my veteran friends until they start screaming like MJK 😃😊😊👍👍👍
I’m a great influence
Can you make “sleeping in a modern destroyer in the middle of a battle”
Nice. As soon as I have time, thanks

Good to hear, thanks for listening:)
As a vet i love it feels good to hear this again was sad when they pulled out in 2021
Planning to do another Afghan one in the near future, thanks for listening.
I miss the sounds of constant activity across an active flightline, but I was never at Bagram.
So realistic I hear even when I pause the video!
Great work. The sincgars beep was a nice touch on the radio chatter.
Thank you, glad you liked it!
SINCGARS!! And then the ASIP!!
Got it on full blast
Enjoy 👍
we need an ambient version of this that isnt for sleeping. idk why but listening to it on walks is very interesting
This is for the guys who never got back.
only the guys that actually came back can hear it though.
These are awesome! You do a great job! I think it would be cool to do like sci-fi space battles or an alien ground war/invasion. You could have the hum of the engines, the thump of the cannons, maybe an alarm go off or something. I had in mind something Halo/40k-esque.
Nice idea, thanks for the suggestion. I'll make a note of it
While listening to this, you can read "a thousand and splendid suns" and listen to piano background music in another tab.
Nice idea:)
If there’s ever a vid for Falluja I bet no one’s getting any sleep lol too much chaos
Sweet dreams
Thanks this really helps my fall asleep
You're welcome 😊
No 120's, 777's lifting you up out of your cot, lol! Waiting for distance flairs to pop off at check points when the dumbasses trip when pissing, lol! I heard the sea whiz sorry the CRAM. Ah the ambiance of tracers setting the mood light, lol!
That was like reading something from Jack Kerouac😀
Somethings you never forget, lol!

ditch the fire add a few helicopters occasionaly flying by. and a mosque.
and barking dogs.
Living in Los Angeles you hear this quite a bit, add some helicopter noise and your there. I sleep like a rock with a gun nearby.
I wish my nights in Afghanistan were this peaceful.
What branch?
Canisters from lum rounds fell into our patrol base one evening. Definitely not a sleep aid😂
Mine were but Iraq... not so much.
*Civies* : ahhh so relaxing!
*Combat Veterans* : 😐
Other way around lol
Thanks this is pretty cool.
Glad you like it!

2 years after me and my friend got called back to do some more fighting for the military, I didn't think we would be fighting across a empty, scorching desert against some terrorists who were all eager to receive all types of weapons to accomplish their reign of terror. In case your not aware of what I'm talking about, the location is Afghanistan. Thid place is so empty, it's almost like a ghost region instead of just a ghost town. And unlike Vietnam, it only took 5 weeks before we got attacked for the first time. This might possibly be the worst fight for survival I found myself in, not just because of the heat, but because it's more open instead of being surrounded by trees, that increases the chance of the Taliban getting to us. I hate to say this, but I feel legitimately scared for the first time in my career. I just gotta push through though. For now, I'll try to get some sleep, and just pray the enemy doesn't decimate us all as we dream about our life back at home. The life we know we can return to...
This is Crack for me. Thank You
Glad to be your dealer.
The best one
Thank you
This is incredibly accurate. 🫡
Man.... I miss the ancient smell of that country..
Thank you👍
I don't really remember it... 2005 is such a long time ago for smells... But i remember Iraq smelling like shit from all the destroyed plumbing ... never knew what you were kneeling in at night. Smelled awful.
It feels real man.
Glad to hear, thanks for listening:)
I know you mainly do battles. But could you do like a forest fire with radio chatter, I'm a firefighter.
Can do, I'll get round to it as soon as I can. Go raibh maith agat

@@Irishdevil1165 hey mate, I would also love your suggestion, I was a volunteer firefight with the SACFS(South Australian Country Fire Service) for many many years until I had to focus on a full time career and I really miss the comraderie, yes there were some very traumatic moments ie MVA's witnessing colleagues fall in the line of duty out on the foreground ECT but I would love to get back into it, you took the words out of my mouth with your suggestion, thank you cobber. From a Australian firefighter, I wish you the best out there
@shannonstaschik2086 cheers to you mate. Stay safe.
Can u do a "you're sleeping in fallujah with distant gun shots"
I will as soon as I can. Thanks for the suggestion!
I think that would be very chaotic
I would never be fit for joining the army. I'm only an excellent fighter in melee.
Ima sleep to this. Gn
Can you add a medieval mongol war ambience.
Sounds good, I'll get around to it as soon as I can, thanks :)
This sounds like Iraq...like alot im on the ground shivering help
is any of your stuff going to be on like apple music or smth?
I will see. Maybe at some point, thanks for listening:)
Unless you've been there you won't understand this but as far as "SOUND" goes... for both Iraq and Afghanistan..... 2 words.... WILD DOGS.
Or feral but lets not mince words. Bottom line is... Wild Dogs are a problem out there. They give away your position and they can be close or far but that damn barking..... Feel FREE to add in some dog barking.
I almost had to shoot an Alpha dog on a night mission in Baghdad. It was the Alpha because it was the head of the pack. We were trying to sneak around in the city and out of nowhere this pack descended upon us. It was dark and after curfew... pretty dimly lit area. They all barked at us but especially this massive Alpha mutt... pretty much gave away our position... it got really close... i was about to shoot... didn't want to because of the noise but i was so damn close to smoking this dog.. but it came about 15 ft from where i was kneeling under some buildings roof that jutted out and the dog just laid down and only barked occasionally. I held my fire and we backed out of there after a couple minutes of that dog laying down.
J bad in Astan ... man they had wild dogs all over the fucking place... always barking from a bit of a distance... at night.. just standing about a hundred to 2 or 3 hundred yards off from our house... just barking from the bushes/tall grass.. you could see them through a starlight thermal.. it was eerie watching them stand there facing our house... barking at us from 150 yds away... like they hated us.
You should try doing a busy blacksmith in a cave
Jotted it down, thanks for the suggestion

How do you do these
A lot of experimenting, digging, mixing, editing, mastering, panning, effects and so on...and time
Hey i love your videos . Please make a video of sleeping in a military jeep with holding a rifle in hand . If possible add some Trucks in the front of them and make them like they are travelling on a straight forest road .
