  • Here is a video I just did about my likes and shortcomings on the new MIXARS duo . Also my opinion of the innofader mini . I also show you all the cut in time and performance of the mini innofader after I modded it .

    I have been toying with the idea about obtaining this mixer, your video contributed to my finally deciding to go in the MIXAR direction, I have rockin' the wheels since the early 80's. Great job my brother.

    Good point on the x-fader upfader material / design. I strongly agree that all 3 faders in a scratch mixer should be the same. When you look at older generations: Pioneer 707 / 909 has the same flaw (non-contact xf but quite weak alpha linefaders). Also Vestax could have done a lot better on their 05 Pro IV: excellent lightweight digital xf (I absolutely love it), but standard PCV linefaders with added resistance...why??

    I've been Djing since 87. No matter what era we are in, there's always a crossfader issue. Does a Quattro innofader work on a Duo? Mine has worn out already.

    I've been using this mixer for the last 5 months and though I use the upfaders a lot less than the x-fader the left one is now gone. crackling like hell and not cutting out.

      damn man, from the LTA that had the loose gimbal to your up faders bleeding I'm thinking it's a good thing I didn't jump into mixars.

    • @HuFilms

      yeah, fur sure. This mixer has gone down 40% in price (Thomann). It's great value and a better product than the LTA's in my opinion.

      no problem the cool thing about this is if you don't want to go through the whole process of taking the mini innofader apart you can upgrade the fader.. to a full innofader pro. or now proxfade has two options now there is a new pcb that you can add to there original proxfader that makes it plug and play or they are coming out with a contactless fader www.proxfade.co.uk/products.html facebook.com/proXfade.uk/?fref=ts

      how did you mode the innofader? i just got my mixer today and ive been scratching on it for a bit but i cant seem to get my swing flares on it sounding right. is there way to make the cross fader slighty smoother cause i feel like its not cutting as precise as i want.

    its about a lot more than cut in time. I have the innodaer pro in my ecler and a ttm57. I actually prefer the rane fader because the cut in is just as sharp and its cut in and out points match up much better. this would be most noticeable doing chirps.....and the rane has less side to side wiggle which I like. I really like that Mixars mixer tho!

    • @CJScratch

    So what mixer u recommend for smooth channel faders curves and reverse cut lag?
    Is there budgeted one?

    • @CJScratch
      @CJScratch  2 года назад

      probably the most affordable would be the traktor z2 it has all mini innofaders .. but you have to remove the tension springs for ultra smooth faders

    regarding your fader caps I would contact Eliot, I'm certain he can get you some beefier fader caps for you.

    Hi, I have a brand new Mixars Duo and when I'm scratching the fader cap comes off several times. I think it's strange for a "professional" battle mixer... I tried to push the cap very hard but I don't want to damage the crossfader. Any Suggestion? Thanks
    Mark

      Take a piece of paper cut it in a thin strip bend it in half so it looks like this ^ a triangle than take that folded paper place it over the metal stem and place the fader cap down on the stem again

    I dont understand some commentary about the cut in time faddin on the fader. All crossfader are adjustable, All of them! And the point as a scratcher is to have the possibility to appropriate myself my gear by adjusting it.
    Ok, I understand that people want to have the best cut in lag out of the box but I swear. It's a little investissement of time the value after is here...
    Or buy The pioneer djm s-9...
    For information my rane and my innofader are adjusted on the same cut. By my experience, the best compromise quickness/cut precision in cut is 0,5-0,7mm. Under the cut and the sound are not precise, beyond it's more sharp but you lost time to return to 0 point...

    Hi, I'm looking for a new scratch mixer, I'm a traktor user and I hesitate between the Mixars Duo and the Z2 of Native Instrument, is there a big difference between the two mixers, , But mixars works well with Traktor?

    hey man quick question, when you say the cut in time is better than the rane 62 is that before you mod it or after? if i don't mod the mini fader is still a good fader to scratch?

    • @CJScratch
      @CJScratch  8 лет назад

      yeah that is before the mod it seems like the mini innofader has a faster cut in time

      get the innofader pro2 its smooth out the box

  • @ghostrider_2104
    @ghostrider_2104 7 лет назад

    the reason Mixars will not use Innofader is because Elliot told them he will not put his brand on a company who so blatantly bit other manufacturers styles. This DUO is a straight rip off of the Z2. Good luck with pro-x faders, Innofader are a much better product.

  • @djstanrd

    I’am disturbed by the loud click noises from the crossfader, for home it’s annoying. it doesn't matter in the club
