  • Alan Devers discovers the history of the Fermanagh Railways in this new series of videos from Headhunters Barber Shop & Railway Museum which travels the route of the Sligo Leitrim and Northern Counties Railway and Great Northern Railway Ireland.
Bundoran Junction is steeped in history and located on the Irvinestown Road close to the village of Kilskeery. Bundoran Junction Station House dates back to 1854, and from then until 1957, it was a much-loved stop on the way to the seaside. During war time, people boarding or departing from trains here were famously serenaded by the violin-making station master.

This place has always fascinated me. With the bridge being restored by the DfI, I wonder what the property footprint around the bridge actually is. I explored into the woods one time and was amazed that the wooden platforms still exist. Are there any recent exploration photos of the 3rd platform that is mentioned in the film?
