Pakistan bowlers did well at the end and restricted NZ below 230. Saim was going great guns but runout.

Why Rizwan is one of the major stumbling block in the growth of Pakistan Cricket?
No batsmen from domestic is directly fastrack in Test cricket or ODI, his adaptability to international cricket is first tested in T20.
If BCCI wants to assess a dometic performer, he will give him opportunity at opening or no.3-4.
Lot of international cricketer gets their debut in T20 now a day, then become a ODI or Test cricketer.
If PCB wants to assess a domestic performer they will have to made him bat at no.6 or no.7 or made him wait for Rizwan Babar to rest at T20s.
Rizwan best position at T20 is no.4 & no.6 at ODI. PCB needs to impose batting position to Rizwan, if they want to groom batsmen for future.
Saim Ayub is very exciting to watch. Great intent early on. If the runout would have been avoided, he would have easily made 70-80 runs at 170+ strike rate.

Yes Rizwan is better batsman.
Sarfaraz knows his limitations while Rizwan wants to Pakistan highest scorer at any cost. Open at T20, no.4 at odi & no.6 at Test or his favourite position.
Sarfaraz dont believe in manipulating his own stats, he's very happy to bat at no.7 & grooms a best batsman for the country. He can also come at no.3 or open at flat pitch ko manipulate his stats like Rizwan.
Rizwan dont care to promote a better batsmen than him at his favourite position.
Rizwan has record of destroying better batsmen. He made a natural opener(Fakhar) no.4. He ensure Iftikhar dont play more than 10 overs in Odi WC.
Also in future he will made Haseebullah to bat at no.6, who is one of the talented batsmen & have exceptional shot selection.
Wow you have such a good eye on Pakistan cricket. Rizwan scored 67 of 52 balls in WT20 2021 Semis against AUS, scored 55 of 46 balls in AC 2022 Finals against SL, and then scored 15 of 14 balls in WT20 2022 Finals against ENG. All of this he did while opening in T20Is which is a very strategic position of PowerPlay to bat on and is always a possible match decider for T20I matches. He and Babar were the main reason we lost 2 WT20s and 1 AC 2022.

When Newzealand made a mountain total of 226 in the first innings, The NZ bowlers were always in the game during the whole chase. Kane Williamson played a 57 runs inning with 136 strike rate and Babar Azam played a 57 runs innings with 163 strike rate, but the difference was that Kane's ended on winning side and Babar ended on loosing side. T20 game can be very tricky at times. No matter how big the target is, you still have to play a calculated powerplay just not to loose wickets. I think Pak should send Babar as a opener and Rizwan at Number 4, Otherwise The chances are high that Pakistan is going to loose this series. Babar and Rizwan are good batsmen and can play anchor roles, they just needs support from other batsmen who can all strike at 150+.
