      @TapInYT  3 года назад +5

      @@eniolaoloyede2874 Fantastic question! Really focus on delivering quality work first and foremost, then allocate sometime to connect with people from within the bank. Spend time either at lunch or after work building relationships with people from within the firm. Set yourself weekly targets for people to speak to and focus on building a positive reputation with a variety of people in the bank. Also make sure you make a post on LinkedIn if you haven’t already say something along the lines of “I’m delighted to announce that I have been offered a Spring week at Goldman” then go on to thank the people that helped you secure the internship. Make sure you tag them, tag Goldman and tag the people at Goldman that helped you and even some of the key people from HR. Remember as a professional when working in HR or at the bank you use LinkedIn a lot so thing like posts count for a lot. Ask questions a lot too in sessions and research any speakers before their sessions thoroughly and prepare specific questions for them. Also ensure that you go on LinkedIn and thoroughly research every single person you have a virtual coffee with, find out what division they’re in, what they do, some of their achievements, university, degree and get personal with them too! Relationship building is about connecting with people and finding common ground. You’ve done an incredible job to get the offer, you are absolutely going to smash the Spring week too! Here’s to your summer offer 🥂 let us know if we can be of further support 🙏

    Hey! Your video seems really helpful. I landed here on the reason that our college just passed out mails for the position of summer internships in Goldman Sachs. GS has always stayed my dream centre, and I thought of giving it a shot. At the same time, I knew the competition out there always stays hard. So, I wish to prepare myself for the same.
    Thing is, I am currently working with one of India's magazines as an intern all the while pursuing my third year. Will that count as work experience? And, I am good at Statistics, Probability, and Maths in General. I have loved Maths throughout my life and I wasn't sure about the divisions that might take me in.
    If possible, could you guide me through this? Really great work though! Thanks a lot for sharing your insights

    How much time do they normally need to update your Application, accepting/denying you for the first interview? Should I get notified via e-mail aswell? :)

    • @TapInYT
      @TapInYT  3 года назад +2

      Hi Chema - here is some information that we found on the GS website that you might find helpful:
      We evaluate applications throughout the recruiting season, which means you may hear back regarding different roles at different times. Check your application status anytime by logging into the application portal. Whether or not we are able to offer you an interview, you’ll hear from us shortly after you submit your application to confirm we’ve received it, later on in the season with a status update, and at the end of the season.
      It seems like the response time can fluctuate depending on where they are in the recruitment season but the best thing to do is keep checking or contact careersfeedback@gs.com if you're still concerned.

    Hello there.
    I'm an engineering graduate from mechanical stream and at this point of time in my life I'm not really intrested in the mechanical stream. But I've a strong mathematical base, I'm good at statistics and I'm really good with numbers. I also have strong quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning skills. I wanna make good use of these qualities but I don't know how.
    Can you help me out with my issue here? I wanna know if these qualities are useful for the posts like data analyst or data analyst trainee. And if not the do tell me how and what kind of jobs should I go for?
    And keep up your good work 🙂

      Hey Nick! It sounds like it's definitely worth applying to some roles that you would enjoy better. If you're interested in Goldman Sachs in particular, their site lists the application requirements here: www.goldmansachs.com/careers/students/programs/index.html it doesn't seem like being an engineering grad would be an issue so definitely give it a go!

    I applied. I received an hirevue interview, but I did not get an offer to Super Day. I wish I knew what caused me to get rejected, in order to improve and land offers next time I apply which will be this week. Could technical difficulties prevent a Super Day offer?

      What kind of technical difficulties do you mean? We'd advise that you go over each part of your application again to make sure that it's all correct and you're as happy with it as possible.
