Despite it being amazing CGI, some of the best I've ever seen, I still know it's CGI. Faces are so difficult because our brains are just that smart at recognizing them. I think, it's the eye distance that seems to be slightly uncanny, and the eye tracking. If you freeze at 0:03 at the second when he moves his eye to our left, they track almost too precisely and look like off. The same happens at 0:08 when he turns, the eye to our right looks like it's really off track, because it's moving equally to the other one, rather than moving in a cone-line narrowing of focus.
Looks great until it's in motion, which I think has two culprits: 1.) Will Smith's facial movements are very different from when he was young 2.) The manual phoneme matching was difficult both because of the angle of the capture and the facial hair making it hard to dial in perfectly.
In some of these shots I genuinely can't tell it's not real but in others it does really show. Still, this is so much better than I could've imagined as a kid.
