Anne Abgott is a great teacher, too! I took a workshop from her and learned so much about "mingling" colors on the paper rather than on the palette, and about making colorful shadows. Best workshop I've ever taken.

Thanks, Lyron. I think the moment I became an artist was in the 5th grade when our art teacher took us to an art exhibition. That was the moment when I realized art is so much more than accurately representing reality and I was filled with an enthusiasm that still drives me today. Your master series have the same effect as that gallery visit. They ignite my enthusiasm.

I just love your masters series and always look forward to them and being introduced to artist. Listening to your appreciation of the work they do is my favorite part. I loved seeing this one on Anne Abgott. I can’t pick a favorite,,, she’s fabulous.

Thank you Liron. An amazing artist. Her eggs and tablecloth painting reminds me of the work of Jeannie Vodden.

I agree with others comments. Anne is a fabulous teacher. I am an experienced painter but still learned a tremendous amount from her. She is also a genuinely nice and caring person. This was a great critique of her work.

Liron, thank you so much for providing us with an insight to so many wonderful painters. Anne's work is intense. You were correct, according to her website she does use photo manipulation to provide the wow factor to her paintings. I can't imagine the intensity of her palette!!

Wow! What a fun and fantastic 'painting masters' video, Liron! I definitely enjoyed this and found it fascinating how differently she works with watercolour. Thanks for yet another great vid!

Wow. Not a style I want to imitate, but she has fantastic control to achieve these in watercolour! Almost looks airbrushed. I find her choice of subjects very inspiring. It just shows you can choose anything to paint, just everyday objects. No need to say I can’t think of anything to paint!

her colour use is EXCELLENT! i aspire to be that bold with colours, i tend to be very timid with the vibrancy.
another watercolour artist that makes excellent use of colour i can remember off the top of my head is harumichi shibasaki. he's an impressionist artist based in japan and he even has a youtube channel! he's one of my inspirations for sure!

I’ve been painting with Anne for 6 years now, she has taken me from being in the verge of giving up to winning amateur artist of the year in the UK in 2018, being accepted into Florida Watercolor, Georgia Watercolor, San Diego Watercolor and Pennsylvania Watercolor shows and earning signature status with Southern Watercolor Society. She is absolutely one of the best tutors out there. Check out her live online classes at southernatelier.org/courses/aquarelle-academy/

I just looked at her website. Some of her paintings look like photos that were heavily manipulated in Photoshop. I'm not saying she didn't paint them and I'm sure she did. My son is a photographer and edits his photos in PS. Early on he used software that manipulated some photos much like Ms.Abgott's paintings. These days it's sometimes hard to tell which is original and which isn't.
