I just came across this video and I just want to say bravo well done seeing u putting the suit on was awesome and its so cool that others r helping us toy collectors restore our childhood toys
You inspired me to get a repro suit from Mick and put together my own Space Ranger Captain. Used an original blue pants figure and it wasn’t too bad fitting the suit even without taking the hands off. Now he’s complete I’m getting the bits together for the tank commander uniform for my other eagle eye figure
God, I loved my frogman Action Man! Actually made me look forward to sunday night bathtime! I had the orange wetsuit, although I think they did a black one too..?
Excellent video bought my Space Ranger suit from Action Man Collectors couple months ago. The reproductions are what the Palitoy designers originally intended - like the design prototypes. When Palitoy subbed production out to condon company the end result wasn't as good as invisiged.👍👍👍👍
Great Video! :D The correct gloves to go with the Rubber suit are silver cloth gloves made of the same material as the Tabard as shown in the photo on the poster. Although I think the White Plastic Gauntlets actually look better! ;-)
Ive been considering buying 1 of these as a back up for my original and maybe a custom coloured 1 too. I did see pictures of the original casting and did wonder how they actually made the suit using it. Now i know! :-)
Lol! Was expecting there to be a link to some A-Team figures with that new opening. Good stuff. I considered getting the space ranger action man but went with Commander Action Man instead. Still a great toy.
Very good information. I'm from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. I do colect: 12" Gi Joe and Action Man. From 1964 to 2011 and the 3.75" Gi Joe and Cobra. From 1985 to 2000. I will love to see how you fix a SuperJoe the 8/9"toll. Thank you for your hepl , on tips how to fix them.
I love it when you do the A-Team intro, lol. It's the best! It's awesome and funny because it's true. Please consider doing it on every video. I never get tired of it. Just like Retro-Blasting has a theme, this one is perfect for you.
I noticed The Action Man Space Ranger's Solar Hurricane Vehicle is the Six Million Dollar Man's Bionic Mission Vehicle given a makeover on that poster there.
very cool. I never had any the space stuff but have seen those commander pop up from time to time with horrendous wear on the suits like you say and people still asking top $ for them .
It depends if you got the suit on card or boxed with a figure. The boxed version came with the plastic gloves. That's the one I had as a kid so was trying to recreate here.
I’m sure I had one of these, but for some reason I think I had it with the blue tabard that you have shown on the chap behind.......it might just be me remembering wrong......it was a while ago 🤣🤣
I think you're right about it being darker. Mine was lighter, almost turquoise colour. Is this made using any new material to prevent it from melting like the old ones, or is it an exact reproduction?
I had a gander at some Original Action Man Space Ranger Captain pix and some have white boots...would the latex keep white paint on it or is it pliable and soft enough to shove into white boots?
Just subscribed to you after coming across your videos by chance. All the old toys and figures I had as a kid and still have most of them up my loft. I remember throwing out this space ranger suit after it melted to the figure. I know you and Replicator Boxes are great for remaking and restoring decals and boxes but is there anywhere to get restored scans of things like this Action Man poster, or the Star Wars figure cards? Would love to own pristine reproductions of those kind of things.
Thanks for subbing. Not sure on the posters, but you can get star wars backing cards. I've a few videos on recarding star wars figures so check those out. Cheers
Hi, I have an original rubber suit in what seems to be good condition; unpacking a box of action man gear from parent's loft. I would prefer it, and my other gear, to go to an enthusiast. Any suggestions how best to go about this?
hi i seen you fix a lot of action man do you know any where i can find any uniform pattern's as i make steampunk and Shaolin Monk Kung Fu Buddhist Dharma Tai Chi action man
These are the reproductions that are really great for the hobby I just don’t like when they do Star Wars weapons and sellers try to pass them off as original
I think it’s absolutely fantastic that they make a reproduction of the original suit… That’s an absolute godsend for collectors 👍

1:32 Space Rangers stare at the full moon..
Great video and update to other AM fans, Dave! Thanks!
Great stuff! You can definitely hear the excitement in your voice at acquiring this new suit, and I can understand why!
Always a Thrill watching your videos Dave. It's amazing they were able to get the original mold the costume!
I was watching that suit going on that figure thinking "I hope it doesn't rip apart"! That was very entertaining my friend, thanks for the video Dave!
I had the talking Space Commander and the speeder - and that poster. Thanks for the memories!
Way too cool.So high tech for an early 80's toy accessory.Ahead of it's time.
It hasn't even been 24 hours yet and I've already watched this about 4X.

Glad you were inspired. Action Man are really fun toys to restore.
Yep, that's the same polava I had as a nipper with this figure. Still, brings back sooo many memories. Fine jobs sir. ✌️
Brings back memories of trying to get the wet suit on my Action Man, happy times
God, I loved my frogman Action Man! Actually made me look forward to sunday night bathtime! I had the orange wetsuit, although I think they did a black one too..?
Wow, that worked great! Great review thanks for sharing!😁👍
Bill
What a fascinating watch! I love seeing videos like this, the creativity of toy collectors never fails to amaze me.
Learn something new every time I watch a video of yours Dave🙂
Take care
Great video! (Dean Verge recommended this video) Thank you for the advice with my soon to be suited Space Ranger.

You're right, of course; latex/rubber DOES decompose over time. I'd actually prefer cloth 'spacesuits' that don't rot. Great review BTW!
Great restoration!
nice, thanks for sharing.
This is an amazing video 👍🏻
Great Video! :D The correct gloves to go with the Rubber suit are silver cloth gloves made of the same material as the Tabard as shown in the photo on the poster. Although I think the White Plastic Gauntlets actually look better! ;-)
It came with both. The carded version had the silver gloves, the boxed version had the white gloves.
@@toypolloi I've only ever seen the poster and the outfit on card not seen a boxed one open. So that would explain that. :)
I must have had a boxed version as a kid as I only remember the white gloved version of this outfit.
Ive been considering buying 1 of these as a back up for my original and maybe a custom coloured 1 too. I did see pictures of the original casting and did wonder how they actually made the suit using it. Now i know! :-)
I'd never sussed that they were made inside out. But it all makes sense when you know that.
Lol! Was expecting there to be a link to some A-Team figures with that new opening. Good stuff. I considered getting the space ranger action man but went with Commander Action Man instead. Still a great toy.

Thanks. Glad you like it. I try to vary the intros, so people don't get bored of seeing the same thing.
I noticed The Action Man Space Ranger's Solar Hurricane Vehicle is the Six Million Dollar Man's Bionic Mission Vehicle given a makeover on that poster there.
Palitoy used a few bits from the Six million dollar man line. The gloves and boots are his as well.
I was hoping you would do a review on these suits! They really do look great on the figure.
very cool. I never had any the space stuff but have seen those commander pop up from time to time with horrendous wear on the suits like you say and people still asking top $ for them .
Quality content guarantee.👍
I think the silver cloth oven gloves came with thar suit. I never owned the white plastic ones as a child
It depends if you got the suit on card or boxed with a figure. The boxed version came with the plastic gloves. That's the one I had as a kid so was trying to recreate here.
I wonder if they have tried using variations of silicone. That would sure stop the potential degradation. It would be similar in look and feel.
I’m sure I had one of these, but for some reason I think I had it with the blue tabard that you have shown on the chap behind.......it might just be me remembering wrong......it was a while ago 🤣🤣

Wow beautiful

Great stuff! Have you ever done anything with the Denys Fisher Doctor Who figures from the seventies?
I haven't. I don't have any of those figures in my collection. Maybe one day. Cheers
Do you ever work on big Jim action
I've been asked to do some videos on him. But I have yet to get one to work on. Maybe at the next toy fair. Cheers
Really good that they managed to get the original mold.
Is there anything in the rubber now to stop it melting like the old one?
My guess would be to keep it in a well ventilated area away from heat. Also storing it properly would help to.
Hi, I have an original rubber suit in what seems to be good condition; unpacking a box of action man gear from parent's loft.
I would prefer it, and my other gear, to go to an enthusiast.
Any suggestions how best to go about this?
I would ask on some of the Action Man Facebook groups. They will be able to help.
Turn it inside-out and roll it on?
Ah come on Dave acting like you've never put a Latex/PVC suit on before ;)
Looks cool though mate!
i had him as well
Oh...and his weapon...some sort of phaser/laser/taser thingy
the rubber suit is quite interesting...i though all action man suits were made of cloth
So am I strange when the first thing I wonder is if you could blow the suit up with helium like a balloon?
You need help. 😂😂😂
hi i seen you fix a lot of action man do you know any where i can find any uniform pattern's as i make steampunk and Shaolin Monk Kung Fu Buddhist Dharma Tai Chi action man
Your best bet is to buy some old clothes and take them apart to make your own patterns I would guess. Cheers
I’ve been wanting to find some toys from that line but man! They’re expensive 😅
Well there you go.
To be fair I think I would have a similar problem to Action Man if I tried to fit into a rubber suit by the neck hole. :D
It was a lighter shade I had it myself
The gloves look almost exactly like the ones six million dollar man had for his space suit. Wonder if they would fit.
Space Ranger my concept as new Brand Manager. Would have been silver lame astronaut only not whole range. 😀
hey 😊
These are the reproductions that are really great for the hobby I just don’t like when they do Star Wars weapons and sellers try to pass them off as original
The degraded suit looked like it was attacked by some alien acid.
...and belt...
Loved the Space Ranger, but even as a kid I hated it when they wrote the name of the character on the character / ships.
Am I strange because my brain can actually smell that suit?
I don't think so. Some smells just really stick.
