In this special video essay series, I'm going to be taking a look at some of my favourite original Palitoy Action Man sets, starting with the Action Man Space Rangers. Growing up, my dad was a big collector of 60's 70's and 80's action man figures, this was a toy and a brand that I was constantly surrounded by, whether they were the Action Man dolls on display in the cabinets around the family home, or the ones half constructed and assembled on the dining room table, to me Action Man are a line of toys that have always been super familiar to me and one that I will always have a lot of love for. I had something similar with my dad and G I joe, my dad had collected G I joes sinces he was a kid, so I grew up playing with those toys and to this day I try to help him get some more for his collection any time I find one.

Randomly picked up a space ranger at a carboot for a fiver, had never seen before and knew nothing about it and then POW! Literally a week later Theo Cane releases a vid!

Hey thanks so much! He never did collect them but. I'd years ago, I sold most of em a few years about though for extra Japan toy hunting money, I kept my kraken and skeleton though obviously

Great vid thanks! I went straight to Ebay🤑 I was given the original rubber suited Space Ranger as I kid. My reading wasn't up to scratch at the time (aged 6-7) and because it was rubber outfit i'd always thought he was deep sea diver, until 2024 😃

Yeah, I'm not a huge AM collector, but I've got 9 (10 if you include Intruder) including a Ranger who's a bit of a Frankenstein with bits of different uniforms and a Captain Zargon missing that shitting visor you can't seem to get easily.
The first custom one did was in '78 and it was a Judge Dredd based around the black jumpsuit from Atomic Man. He didn't survive...
Now I'm starting to plan a Doctor Doom version! Got some workable, curable thin sheet steel for proper armour and a couple of square feet of green velvet for costume. I've got a spare German Staff Officer belt, holster and Luger so I'm off to a good start!
...I wonder if I can get 2 German Pfennigs with the imperial eagles on them for the cloak disc clasps..?

first cool dad was that his collection in back ground or yours and i love it as it my childhood .wish stil had them but my dad was not like yours he chucked my toys away etc .lest get see them again .cant wait next ones .
That's a mix of my stuff, and ones he gave me man, a combined super collection haha

Just found out about this toy line guy I buy toys from hit me up and asked if I wanted a toy for $50.....It was one I had never seen before so immediately it peeked my interest after doing some looking around turns it it was Gargonzola 1979 from the action man space ranger line.Seems to be super rare HTF toy no idea what it's worth you have any idea on the value?Guy is going to be sitting on my self in my office.
