@@gamerprince-tl5hg Dude, yes. I think I was 8, and thought Disney princesses were just girly tosh. As I followed the stairs across those mysterious citadels in the darkness, I was gripped as profoundly as by anything I've encountered in literature. Suddenly these pink and yellow cartoon girls my sister liked to dress up as were transported into a context that left me speechless. They became venerated and sacred. When I was young and played KH for the first time, I remember realizing, right at the beginning, it was not going to be the same as any other game I had ever played - and I was not wrong. I felt it was a game of maturity and teaching - not just one of being a hero, but of understanding that the power within oneself to do right, even if it was just a simple act of kindness, was enough to change much about a person. It was that feeling of wanting to help someone else that made us truly human. Not our reason. Not our wisdom. Our innate desires to help, but those same desires carry with them the curse of want. But hey, I'm just being overly dramatic here. It was an amazing game.

This track perfectly encapsulates what made KH1 so enticing, and what the rest of the series has failed to recapture: a dark, lonely, enigmatic atmosphere. Despite the sequels expanding the lore/world, everything felt so much bigger in KH1. The sound effects echoed in the cutscenes (adding to the emptiness), music would cut out from the background (creating tension from simple scenes), the state of things felt grim, the dialogue wasn’t as sappy or cheesy, and the story wasn’t bogged down with convolution. All this isn’t to say that the following games are bad, they were just never the same.
The raw gameplay may be much better in 2 and 3 but I'll be damned if the first game isn't the better overall experience. At least in terms of being an action adventure.

Not to mention he's like a spirit of pure light now and could feasibly enter people's hearts, or something. But if it's Mickey, it's Mickey. It's just a weird explanation because Mickey never displays telepathic abilities ever again after that... MAYBE I could see Yen Sid pulling something like that, but not Mickey. Anyway, my headcannon is that it's Eraqus. I think it's a better explanation because if you think about it, literally everyone in the KH universe is connected, except Sora/Riku/Kairi to Eraqus himself, and it would be a neat little thing to throw in there.
If I had awakening Voice I hope it's final words before the boss fight were "You must take the first step Will you descend into the Light or will you Fall into the Darkness Only you can decide your Destiny."

I am listening to this right now with my newly adopted kitten, who I have dubbed Sora! He has a sleek black coat, reminding me of the darkness of this game, but is so high spirited like Sora. The name just fit so well!
People saying "Oh, I remember when I was a kid, ah nostalgia, ah kid's game." I'm literally sitting here with my 22 years old ass on my couch, and going thru life with Kingdom Hearts, cause it gaves meaning to my mental health problems
This was the song that represented the deepest parts of your mind and soul. That inner world you entered to figure out who you truly were and what you valued, all whilst being guided by a mysterious voice that urged you to keep moving forward through the unknown. Stirred with fear but courageous enough to push on, you proceed through the abyss and eventually, you find the light. You encounter a momentary sigh of relief, just to find out the shadow behind you is awakening. You become filled with terror as it grows larger and larger. You try to run, but soon realize you're trapped with this darkness. You realize the only way out is for you to turn and fight ... "But don't be afraid ... You hold the mightiest weapon of all ... "
"Ones born of the heart and darkness, devoid of hearts, ravage all worlds and bring desolation. Seize all hearts and consummate the great heart. All hearts to be one, one heart to encompass all. Realize the destiny: the realm of Kingdom Hearts. The great darkness sealed within the great heart. Progeny of darkness, come back to the eternal darkness. For the heart of light shall unseal the path. Seven hearts, one Keyhole, one key to the door. The door of darkness, tied by two keys. The door to darkness to seal the light. None shall pass but shadows, returning to the darkness. One born of the heart and darkness, hunger for every heart until the dark door opens." - Ansem the Wise
this is the song that defined the first game - dark, eerie, dreamlike, cryptic. if only i could play this game for the first time again, to relive the feeling :3
The beginning to a journey we won’t soon forget. A bond forged with a beloved character and game. All of life is but a journey one should choose for oneself. If not for the diving into ones destiny then it should be done for the belief that all can be right with oneself through journeying into a world vastly filled with obstacles and lessons waiting to be learned. To master the heart takes time. And with time one will find the key to unlocking the true purpose of ones chosen journey.
Everytime i hear this all i think is ''The closer you get to the light...the bigger our shadow becomes...but don't be afraid...and remember...you are the one who will open the door...''
Some people say, Good and Evil both must exist in a balance, but they usually are unbalanced and Evil usually becomes unstable, though at times good and evil can be balanced, it can't be trusted, since there is always a power struggle. When the light begins to fade and hope seems lost, look to the stars and the Heavens, for hope shines bright. Decades, centuries, or millennia's from now, it is said the Ultimate Battle will occur between Good and Evil, the good souls will be able to immortality exist and thrive, the bad souls will return to their grotesque and rotten corpses that rise from the dead, as they are forever damned, spending the rest of eternity in a sorrowful state of regret and shame. Why does it seem like the good souls don't stay on earth for long, they are usually taken from us by evil, as evil usually seems to thrive on earth for as long as it likes. Don't let Lucifer fool you and us, May the Almighty bless you and us, amen.
Evil can be unstable sometimes, but what would happen if the Good also turn unstable, which can happen too. People become filled with the feeling of being a God's menssenger or a symbol of Justice, but in the end, things turn out of control and the "good" only turns into a chaotic good. People have both sides in their heart, Good and Evil, but if you let one of those domain your heart, things will not end very well. It's like Sora, even when he turns into his Anti-form, a embodyment of his own inner darkness, he still have the power to control it and not lose hinself in the darkness.
Yes, self-control and discipline can help one overcome difficult obstacles. This is the reason I fear for this planet because of the lack of discipline, self-control, and courage in generations, people are too consumed in materials and value-less possessions. It seems that Evil will always exist in this world, since many so called "Leaders" are crooked and corrupt, like the way many leaders acted, thousands of years in history. Yet there is always a struggle of dominance between Good and Evil, and if both cannot exist in peace and balance, then only one should exist.
yes by evil whispers deep within our heart , our blood and our mind it will continue because man were born from sin and we must repent for that purpose so that we don't lead ourselves to where lucifer or satan wants us to be in
They want you to feel guilty...to rob you all of your powers. Mankind is not born from sin and it is not a sin to be a living human being. Free yourself from the guilt and open your heart again. There is a lot of evil in the world, but never ever underestimate your power to fight for the right. This is what Kingdom Hearts is about.
5:55 when I heard this part again, (since a long time ago) I'd imagine having to fight a boss that has my biggest fear, and worse. As well as that I'd unlikely win, regardless of my level or equipment (Or for the others, that the boss knew how to make you pretty much to scared to fight it.) 8:35 & for that part, I imagined that I did of course fail/lose and are struggling (for being weakened from the fight) to escape my inevitably approaching doom (The timestamp was set 3 secs. early so it won't be too sudden)
What immediately enchanted me about this game as a kid was seeing the opening end with a Disney Princess stained glass, then followed by this haunting theme. It was Disney but darker. I had never experienced anything like it before.
i played alot games as kid but kingdom heart series has a place in my heart. it brought on a whole new perspective for me. i was thrown into a completely different world from the usual games i played. i learned so much from the characters and the major themes in the game.
Listening this today. After I had heart complications, 2 years suffering and examinations, and today, really today, docs told me my heart get back to normal and i'm free. It's powerful... Take care guys
I remember seeing the advert for this game and i thought it was so cool seeing disney characters i loved watching all put into a video game, i remember hearing this music and saw the disney princesses as you go through the tutorial, it changed me , in some strange way. i dont know if it was because i was expecting just a happy disney game but the seriousness of this game as a kid i was not ready for. There were no spoilers either, it was a totally fresh experience which is not the case nowadays.
This makes my mind literally fall asleep. I question about who, abd what I am. Am i a person who wields the darkness? Or am i a person who claims the light. What is my destiny. What an i suppose to do. What power, could I hold, that may, or will change tje world.
I could stand out as a real hippie now: You are the light. You are the world, but you as the world (the collective conciousness called god) experience yourself as an individual aspect of itself. A single color of the rainbow from when the light breaks. And as the individual the world wants fullfill the reason to why it has split into separate pieces: to experience. Different parts of itself/yourself by moving between light and darkness. Sorry but a spiritual teacher told me this once and I just had to share this now that I saw the chance cause it sounds so epic xD
We humans are a species of balance a mix of two sides the light and the dark. One can't exist without the other that is why even in the brightest of places have the darkest shadow
They say, hope, begins in the darkness. But most just flail around in the blackness, searching for their destiny. But the darkness, for me, is where I shine
Maybe the greatest story of a game, The first kingdom of hearts.... So much memories , Nostalgia all over the place...back to a better time...ps2 times...
If only I had another chance at experiencing this game for the first time again, the feeling of playing this for the first time in 2007 just cannot be reenacted.

Then I started thinking it might be Eraqus, because he and Xehanort were the ones orchestrating the whole thing.
You hold the mightiest weapon of all
“Heroes who have vanquished all evil eventually turn to the path of darkness as well”
"This world has been connected, tied to the darkness."
If I had awakening Voice I hope it's final words before the boss fight were
"You must take the first step Will you descend into the Light or will you Fall into the Darkness Only you can decide your Destiny."
Mario threw the keyblade and brought Sora into smash
Everytime I feel myself going through a hard or difficult time in my life (or say like now where I am about to for the CPA exam)I immediately think of this song and how I will "fight through the darkness" to get to the other side...light (and can just have a life again lol). This probably sounds over-dramatic and knowing RUclips none of you want to know my life story but you all understand what I mean.
I feel ya man. Gotta do what you gotta do to get through these tough times. By the way how did your exam go? Whats CPA anyway lol
Danny Kisso certified public accountant
5 years later you’re comment still means so much
F420 ain’t that the truth. Working in the accounting profession has thrown me some major curveballs. A couple months after I posted this comment I went through a terrible time in my life.
Vibes I don’t feel this way as much anymore but it’s a real scary feeling.
“So much to do, so little time... Take your time. Don't be afraid. The door is still shut. Now, step forward. Can you do it?”
4:20 on is the best
I am listening to this right now with my newly adopted kitten, who I have dubbed Sora! He has a sleek black coat, reminding me of the darkness of this game, but is so high spirited like Sora. The name just fit so well!
Aww, he must be a true sweetheart, just like Sora!
The theme of a childhood
my favorite video game of all time
The power of the mystic...
One of the best game openings ever
You know even after 18 years we still don't know who that mysterious voice was.
It was confirmed a long time ago. It was Mickey.
@@reddodeado301 really??
@@La-hora-del-terror
Yep. It was Mickey.
@@reddodeado301 Oh! I honestly didn't think it would be Mickey speaking.
I kind of expected it to be, maybe, Ven, or, maybe even, Ava.

The power of the warrior...
One born of the heart and darkness, hunger for every heart until the dark door opens."
- Ansem the Wise
Was it Ansem the Wise who wrote this or his apprentice who stole the name?
this is the song that defined the first game - dark, eerie, dreamlike, cryptic.
if only i could play this game for the first time again, to relive the feeling :3
The music has a HUGE reason why I love and play the series over and over again. Am I right?
5:58 When the Darkside come...
But don't be afraid.
You hold the mightiest weapon of all.
So don't forget: You are the one who will open the door.
Everyone else: "says something deep and philosophical.
Me: Dis is gud song. Is nice
🔥
read it in hovi's voice
Maybe it's just me, but this song never fails to somehow always be going through my head right before/during taking a huge test
I never realized that fragments of sorrow starts in Auroras platform bc Maleficent is one of the main villains of the game
Here we are, from the beginning, into Smash
Back when the Shadow heartless seemed actually terrifying
The Kingdom to our Hearts have been unlocked as Sora joins Smash..!!
Just
Damn
yes by evil whispers deep within our heart , our blood and our mind it will continue because man were born from sin and we must repent for that purpose so that we don't lead ourselves to where lucifer or satan wants us to be in
They want you to feel guilty...to rob you all of your powers. Mankind is not born from sin and it is not a sin to be a living human being. Free yourself from the guilt and open your heart again. There is a lot of evil in the world, but never ever underestimate your power to fight for the right. This is what Kingdom Hearts is about.
This theme
It's so dreadfully empty yet.. inexplicably beautiful
Vasman Basi And surprisingly calming and relaxing
This actually very similar to the soundtrack for the end of the world, and i actually like it :)
That's the point. It could be saying the end is only the beginning
"Destati" means "Wake up" in Italian.
But when I'm listening to this music... I never want to wake up !
This is other worldly, lordly, I might say, this feels something I would hear in heaven…
5:55 when I heard this part again, (since a long time ago) I'd imagine having to fight a boss that has my biggest fear, and worse. As well as that I'd unlikely win, regardless of my level or equipment
(Or for the others, that the boss knew how to make you pretty much to scared to fight it.)
8:35 & for that part, I imagined that I did of course fail/lose and are struggling (for being weakened from the fight) to escape my inevitably approaching doom
(The timestamp was set 3 secs. early so it won't be too sudden)
ARWINGx1 ....But Remember....you hold the greatest weapon of all....
Sepiroth in a nutshell
Reminiscing those times...what a time to be alive it was back then..time flies man..
4:18
This part gives me chills...
Listening this today. After I had heart complications, 2 years suffering and examinations, and today, really today, docs told me my heart get back to normal and i'm free. It's powerful...
Take care guys
"All that gallivanting through the Sleeping Worlds, and yet you learned nothing."
Don’t..... Be..... Afraid......
Kingdom Hearts... sounds like hope to a eternal fight between light and darkness
This makes my mind literally fall asleep. I question about who, abd what I am.
Am i a person who wields the darkness? Or am i a person who claims the light.
What is my destiny. What an i suppose to do. What power, could
I hold, that may, or will change tje world.
Ryan Hyuga ur propably a 16 year old that plays too much videogames
Your mind isn't going to sleep, it's awakening.
From the promise of an epic adventure and grand story worth remembering, to a miserable wet shart. How this series has fallen.
Sora's in smash
it began with one simple choice.
sword
staff
or shield?
Two actually. Which will you choose? And which will you give up?
Will you play the game with scan at the beginning? Will you screw yourself over with the combination that doesn’t give you cure until way later?
Sword and Staff, screw shield, you'll probably defend yourself well enough anyway.
Aflay Spells are unlocked by story progression.
@@reddodeado301 I thought u pick one and give up one so if u dont give up one item or choose it do i just assume i chose the other one too?
I'll interrupt you Halo but Kingdom Hearts has the best video game music of all time, ALL TIME

SORA IS IN SMAAAASH
If only I had another chance at experiencing this game for the first time again, the feeling of playing this for the first time in 2007 just cannot be reenacted.
And my personal response to that: "The light shines brighter in the dark" =)
Is this SF9 inspiration concept for Kingdom?
I lov it!!!
They wants to be Prince charming is it?
Truly a beautiful tune, even to this day. Ive honestly taken the feeling and quotes of this game to heart when it talks about darkness.
I love the third part of the soundtrack at 4:20. It gives me fantasy, mysterious and adventure vibes. So nostalgic !
0:00 1st verse the decision
2:03 2nd verse, falling in a dream as "E'gunta L'ora Destati"(The time has come,
Awaken!)
2:28 3rd verse fighting heartless first time before drowned into darkness
3:05 4th verse, opening the door, and talking to Tidus, Selphie, and Wakka from FF
4:19 5th verse, Fragments of sorrow
5:57 6th verse, DARKSIDE BOSS
8:38 7th/Outro, with King Mickey speaking to sora in an unaudiable voice And thus, the Awakening.
Listening to this after all dem years...oh my feelz ;/
