I remember going to Media Markt in Weiden, DE and buying In Sorte Diaboli and picking up the Guitar World with that tutorial (before they stop putting the DVDs in the mag) fall of 07.
Absolutely true, mostly due to the fact that all the spice of the guitar sound was eliminated on the album in favour of a more sterile sound, which is apparently thought to appeal to a larger audience.
i always took the side of death metal in the norweigian black vs swedish death metal war....and do like some black metal and after hearing "blackened death metal" bands like behemoth, i have a new appreciation for some black metal
@9HereticPrincess9 yep everything pre abrahadabra is still kickass, not only the first 3 albums were good, and I think ppl highly underestimate the incredible album in sorte diaboli is, because of the imagery they put into the music videos, but rly, EVERYTHING pre abrahadabra is awsome and this is coming from someone that listenes to bands like gorgoroth, dark funeral, burzum (especially burzum) and some mayhem and darkthrone
when i bought in sorte diaboli i already knew it was pretty bad compared to what they had done, but the sinister awakening still makes me feel the dark eerie mood of songs like blessings or reptile, its the only song in the album that does that, wich is sad considering the whole EDT gives you that feeling
@christslayer666 yeah, learning dimmu songs, you realize that they're riffs are actually really difficult, esp on the older albums. In Sorte is a great album, just saying that their riffs this time were more thrashy
I wonder if that is just the guitars straight into the the amps, I know you can tell the bald dude has that "emg" sound but I wonder if there's any effects hooked up because that's a good rhythm sound if its just the guitar straight into the amp.
well... i always use the standard tone. E.. maybe sometime i will go lower at D#.... i don't think that going lower than that is needed.... D# i think is the perfect (at least for me:) ESP? ESP or LTD? dang that's too cheap... where are u from? lol in greece LTD guitars never cost lower than 700euro lol and ESP usually going insane:P my ESP m3 Deluxe costs 1600 or even an ESP mII costs about 2k Euro.. lol

Que temaso Legalise 👏
Una pasada!!! 🤘🤘🤘
@lukemanv0 I completely agree dude. Guess we'll find out pretty soon which path they decide to take for the new record!
The riffs sound better than the actual songs.
Absolutely true, mostly due to the fact that all the spice of the guitar sound was eliminated on the album in favour of a more sterile sound, which is apparently thought to appeal to a larger audience.
Alexander Schubert A sterile sound is a weak sound 😧
There are other instruments on the album, can't hog the whole mix with the guitars.
Larga vida Dimmun Burgir
jajajajjaa wtf?
these guys play so cleanly, holy crap.....impressive
@Bpet18 i think its his signature one because its got the massive V. its on the ESP site though.

Yep
when i bought in sorte diaboli i already knew it was pretty bad compared to what they had done, but the sinister awakening still makes me feel the dark eerie mood of songs like blessings or reptile, its the only song in the album that does that, wich is sad considering the whole EDT gives you that feeling
@skekord okay thanks. and btw, your three is equal to the Italian three (both are written tre).
They're the best from Black metal
They bod have signature ESP guitars.

@christslayer666 yeah, learning dimmu songs, you realize that they're riffs are actually really difficult, esp on the older albums. In Sorte is a great album, just saying that their riffs this time were more thrashy

Metal zone sound
@downfan1 sounds to me like a tubescreamer is looped in
Galder is one of the best black metal composers ¬¬ whats the matter with how he looks?
they make it look easy ;) give me a guitar and i would kill it with out trying
Pickups and amps is all they use.
@666Lawlieth Silenoz has his signature ESP Okkultist
@9HereticPrincess9 LOL woot! after watching another vid, I figured it out...it's one, two, three, four "pats self on back"
How do they get such a goddamn amazing tone?
Nice
Marshall amps and EMG pickups in quality guitars, same things I use to get thick, heavy guitar tones
well... i always use the standard tone. E.. maybe sometime i will go lower at D#.... i don't think that going lower than that is needed.... D# i think is the perfect (at least for me:) ESP? ESP or LTD? dang that's too cheap... where are u from? lol in greece LTD guitars never cost lower than 700euro lol and ESP usually going insane:P my ESP m3 Deluxe costs 1600 or even an ESP mII costs about 2k Euro.. lol
Wait, what? Silenoz is wearing a Manticore t-shirt.
