    A couple weeks ago my neighbor was bushhogging his lease pasture. He had the bucket down on the loader to try and detect any stumps. He had the bucket tilted back and apparently it was tilted at just the right angle to allow the bucket to just "jump" over the stump. He ended up with the tractor on the stump and it broke the housing for the hudraulic fitler and the filter and the two lines that come from the filter housing. Yeah I would guess the cost of his bushogging to be near $1000.I said a "thank you" prayer since that's never happend to me.

    Ok guys I just have to say this "technically" your not supposed to "blow out" modern air filters the use of compressed air can cause small holes in the filters causing larger particles of dust and debris to inter the intake!!! This old way of cleaning out the filters was ment for old style paper filters that didn't filter the microns of air we do today ... In modern diesel tractors they have dual layer air filters for a reason if you "blow out" them filters you might as well not run any filter at all ... Not saying this to be mean or anything but the cost of modern-day diesel engines and gas engines are not worth saving a few pennies

I have seen fire ants down in lower arkansas and they are a nasty thing to share the planet with. I'm curious as to if they rent/self the machine that goes on the front of a skid steer. Those take down trees or just about any thing shoved their way. I know they lose teeth on rocks but for the most part, its just keep a going and it is amazing what we can do now that as a kid sixty years ago, it was brush hooks, scythes' an other man killers. If it didn't cost so much to live there, I would live my last few there as I am skilled in many things and could help young people get their places started right an water an stuff needed to live off the land.

    Have you ever disconnected your toplink and ran without it? Helps me out since we have pretty hilly land. Keeps you from digging in with the mower.

      I haven't. But I've heard of people who have. Thanks for watching 👍

      Try hooking up a chain, but remember you can slide easier over a back without the draft working.

    I envy you having a cab tractor lol. Love to find one in the future. Which type of bush hog do you prefer the lift type like you have or a pull type. I have a 5ft pull type. Trying to find the lift type if possible.

      I've never used a pull type. I live my homestead implements bush hog👍

      I too have a pull type, 4ft. It looks 50 years old. Payed $50 for it. All it needed was a new PTO shaft, so I got one with a slip clutch. :)

    Does your grass/brush grow year around or does it go dormant from the frost in the winter time? I didn't know if you guys even got frost to speak of that would impact the growing.
    I know once the fields are harvested then we start doing the old mowing around the edges of the fields and working on pushing the new growth back.

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm
      @HamiltonvilleFarm  4 года назад +1

      It goes semi dormant. You could probably stand to cut it in Jan. Then start back up late March/early April

    Why not just remove the stumps once and for all to make brush hogging less stressful?

    Knock out those stumps. Make a story of it, videoing the action, “the eternal battle - man versus stump”. The video will get at least half a million views.

    What noise decimals are inside the cab Hank?

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm
      @HamiltonvilleFarm  4 года назад +1

      I'm not sure. I'll have to use an app to see. It's not loud. I wear those bluetooth headphones because I'm a sound quality diva and the speakers in the cab dont sound full. I like to hear the bass line in a song😊👍

      Hamiltonville Farm the land pride is too thin this 6ft is heavy duty with ⛓. It’s a big price difference from 1200 to 2800
