One thing I wished they did, that Smallville did. They had a scene where Clark gets cut on the cheek. The audience can see the entire wound and blood, but as his hand is wiping the blood away, the cut is rapidly healing as well. Watching it through, it looks like he got a huge cut but quickly wipes away the entire wound. It looks really cool, and I wish they did it with Wolverine.

The only two that should have boosted strength in this scene is sabretooth and wolverine. The only reason they lifted wolverine up so easily is the same reason why wolverine hardly shows his other abilities. I was eleven in 2001. I bought this movie on VHS after I was in the hospital for a month. My grandmother was still alive. We watched this wonderful movie with her. Wonderful childhood time.

Fuck the first xmen was so good. As they said in the behind the scenes they went for something that felt like a mini-series and personally, I still think that could've been awesome.

As far as I remember, the issue with Wolverine's portrayal in the first movies was that he was never definitively tougher than any of the super-villains he faced. He always lost in direct combat winning only by luck or because of help. The movie Logan was one of the best superhero movies I ever watched though.

So I saw a comment where apparently in this movie sabertooth was in his final mutation which is why he looked feral and apparently Logan also has it since it appears in a comic (don’t know if it’s a separate continuity) where he got the adamantium forcefully removed and the pain that it caused him made him go into a feral stage/final mutation when it was all removed

Cyclops also had to act fast, he seems like he’s physically fit and combined with adrenaline, it’s very possible to pull someone as heavy as Logan off the hood of a truck and drag him a safe distance away before the goddamn truck explodes and plus he’s probably also thinking about saving himself too lol
A human can actually lift a car off of someone in a dangerous situation, if they have adrenaline pumping through their veins. So Cyclops pulling Wolverine to safety is nothing.
As a kid, I thought we were at the pinnacle of technology and I was amazed by the cinematics. At the time this came out I was 8. Now 24 years later this reminds me of old movies I watch from the 70's. May be a sign.... gosh.
When this came out I was 13 and it felt crazy as a fan to see the characters u knew so well on the big screen. Back then the comic book world was more of a niche thing and just to see the real life representation of the X men characters was surreal.

Havent seen too many mentions of the sound design on this film. The wind whistling, the acute sound of Hugh sniffing at it. The crisp sound of the claws extending, and dear Christ, the brutality of the trunks impact. Brutal. This scene stills makes my hair stand on end and creates REAL tension, especially as the music builds and the X-Men are revealed. Experts at work, I tell ya.
