Ohhohhou-jeeah! Tuukka is the man! I'm sure Mcferrin would agree and approve too. Many similarities to his interpretation of "Opportunity", but with a bass voice. Those Mcferrin -grooves work even better with a bigger larynx. Very cool. Tuukka's voice is a marvellous combination of falsetto capabilities and well vibrating vocalfry low register extension. And of course nice bass timbre and range in the modal register. Awesome pipes, as they say. They should do more off this jazzy stuff!
I really enjoy Tuukka. I found ClubForFive after listening to Brothers in Arms by HomeFree and then learning their version was from a music composition that Tuukka sent to Tim Foust, the equally excellent bass singer for HomeFree.
I know my reply is years late but if you look at this video he's bouncing off F1 and G1 pretty comfortably just sat at home ruclips.net/video/laCn0STKhA0/видео.html
@jbcraipeau Well, I've heard them sing a capella and unplugged a couple of times, and they really don't need autotune. They use machines for percussional effects - and of course for mixing, echoing and stuff, like any band does! It doesn't make them any less talented and perfect...
@tonadaasbl I think 3rdstove is right. The beatbox is simpler in that section, and at 1:59 it looks like Tuukka (the bass) is clicking his tongue to the beat. It makes his performance just that much more astonishing...
@jbcraipeau Erm no, what bonmoins said is that they don't use autotune; they use machines for other stuff. Which is the opposite of what you said. Oh well.
Oh, I see. I misunderstood. Still, I'm wondering which singers are using pitch correction in this video, and how you can tell? At first I thought the bass may have been using it, but his pitch is quite a bit off at 4:00. I'm not trying to argue - you clearly know much more about singing than I do - I'm just wondering.
You could probably call it modern jazz. Which basically sums up everything you mentioned. But rnb or hip hop are not wrong either. Modern jazz is quite vast incorporating rock, fusion, soul, jazz, hip hop, rnb etc. But in terms of the harmonic structures esp. chordal work, it's strongly founding in jazz styles.
@jbcraipeau Which singers are using autotune? And how can you tell? I don't mean to argue with you, but I see no reason this performance couldn't have been given without it.
Tuukka, tee musadiggarit iloisiksi ja julkaise myös jotain progempaa kamaa, jooko. Lahjakkuutta ja näkemystä olisi tuottaa kovin moniulotteisia audio-orkku-värähtelyjä!
well, i'm not actually sure about that, but in my opinion, music without instruments are a cappella. You can also beatbox a techno song or michael jackson, but it's still beatboxing right?
Yes. I suspect there is a lack of definitions here. If a song can be both a genre and beatboxing/acapella at the same time, then either a) Rock is not a genre, and beatboxing/acapella is, or b) Beatboxing/acapella is a genre, and rock isn't. Or a song can be several genres at the same time, but that kind of defeats the purpose of using the concept 'genre', I think.
Acapella ist not a genre. It is a way of performing. You can perform any genre "a capella" (=without instruments). Rock or Jazz are not genres, either. They are styles. You also can perform almost every style a capella. A genre is a very soft and often overlapping classification of the whole environment of the piece of music. Let's assume "protest songs" as a genre. They can be written in various styles (rap, hard rock, jazz, funk, soul, baroque,...) and performed in various ways, i.e. solo guitar, big band, piano, a capella...
I said they don't need it...I said it sucks they're using it ! quite different ! I know their talent and how great they are that's why I'm quite dissapointed every time I see top notch a cappella group using too much pitch correction !
Very nice arrangement, but please stop using autotune...it really doesn't mean a thing...The main fun of a cappella is to tune with the others singers, not with computer. =/ You don't need that shit !
Though not a legit chest note , it is too good to be called a belch fart fry. Assuming you are a woman , it understandable why you would feel every note under Bb1 would sound like a belch fart fry. And yes, the note is an eb1.
Why doesn't this have millions of views yet? And there are supposed to be so many acapella 'fans'..
this bass is outstanding........omg

I have not seen anything so elegant in all my life
I really enjoy Tuukka. I found ClubForFive after listening to Brothers in Arms by HomeFree and then learning their version was from a music composition that Tuukka sent to Tim Foust, the equally excellent bass singer for HomeFree.
Love the Audio Quality!! With Headphones on, I feel like I'm there!!
Perhaps not 'legit' voice, but that D#1 was still amazingly on pitch and pleasant to hear.
Sick skill going on here.
Never get tired of this!
Absolute vocal perfection. You all work perfectly as a team to create one immaculate sound. A pleasure to listen. Thank you for sharing :)
Not only does Tuukka cover Eb1 - F#5 he also beatboxes some of the time while doing the bass line. What a guy
Wow! Excellent! The bass is absolutely amazing (as are the rest of you, of course!).
Oh my gosh, this is BEYOND amazing!!!! I am definitely getting their album! These guys are on par with PTX!
Just so many brilliant moments in this piece...Love it.
beautiful harmonies and crazy stacked 4th's in the verse melody
Oh wow, that's really amazing! You are so groovy smoothy!! Thank you so much for sharing!
This is simply amazing! Love that bass!
I was listening to some Manhatten Transfer and found this song. Now I know one group that also did it too. Both awesome versions.
I love this song !!!
The BASS、、、wow
From Japan
Susanna Hietala es excelente, como todos los del club de los cinco!
bass is sick.. hits an Eb1, seems like it's all full voice.
Sounds more like a fully assigned octaver than like a real voice ^^ But still an epic effect :D
It's vocal fry but there's no octaver
Yes I have listened now more from him, seems like he sings down to Bb1-Ab1 with chest voice
Edward Scott woah it's really fried??? Damn this guy's a beast!!!! Deadass thought it was chest 😭😭😭
I know my reply is years late but if you look at this video he's bouncing off F1 and G1 pretty comfortably just sat at home ruclips.net/video/laCn0STKhA0/видео.html
Esse baixo é insano (PT-BR) This Bass is insane.
Круто!
simply amazing !!!

Sick Bass at 2:39 - 2:40... just sick.
that fuckin bass is just RIDICULOUS. way to go!
@maarasa THEY ARE !!
Manhattan Transfer has been doing this stuff for 30 years. It's awesome stuff.
Well, I just found the best thing ever.
The other guy with the dark hair does most of the beatboxing, but Tuukka does clicks with his tongue alongside the singing.
Ssssooooooooo gooooood!
@tonadaasbl I think 3rdstove is right. The beatbox is simpler in that section, and at 1:59 it looks like Tuukka (the bass) is clicking his tongue to the beat. It makes his performance just that much more astonishing...
@tonadaasbl No pedal, it is the bass guy doing all the beatbox.. The guy on the right does beatbox in the choruses.
I never would've thought that the "O-face" guy from Office Space was such a talented vocalist...
@jbcraipeau Erm no, what bonmoins said is that they don't use autotune; they use machines for other stuff. Which is the opposite of what you said. Oh well.
The genre is called Club for Five.
:P
2:35
Tuukka is the monster!
I'm sure... search for "Tuukka Dirty Loops" for the "It's more difficult" part :) he's on another level.
This is so much better than the MTP original
@bonmoins I know...that's what I said...
Tuukka (the bass) does it.
That's one of the only believable Eb1's I have ever heard sung. They usually sound like a belch-fart-frytone that singers fake.
Oh, I see. I misunderstood. Still, I'm wondering which singers are using pitch correction in this video, and how you can tell? What's that note Tuukka hits at 2:39 ?
msumungo E♭1
@@aspecialhotdog Thanks m8.
Deadass thought Scott and Kirsten was in this video for a second 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
2:35
In fact the genre is called accapella.
I had no idea Seth Rogen was so talented
LOL
IT'S A WHITE BOBBY MCFERRIN!!!
2:37 Balls! :D
well, i'm not actually sure about that, but in my opinion, music without instruments are a cappella. You can also beatbox a techno song or michael jackson, but it's still beatboxing right?
Classy. As. FUCK.
Someone can help out with this lyrics ? Please
Yes. I suspect there is a lack of definitions here. If a song can be both a genre and beatboxing/acapella at the same time, then either

Where can i get the lyrics?
The internet brought me here! Yeah...we get it.
I'm a japanese.
I want to know the original music of this music!
this is the original -> ruclips.net/video/HczSTkRLQ2A/видео.html
Very McFerrin-esque
I wonder if Susanna Hietala is related to the Heavy Metal God, Marco Hietala...
2:40 - Optimus Prime
at 2.40 I grew an extra ball
tuukka ja tuomas........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmpop
You sure that's a genre though, rather than a performance format?
Rock songs could be performed acapella, but they're still rock. No?
I keep clicking this but all I hear is "Meg a Tron".
I think the guy swallowed a subwoofer.
psst... a) and b) is the same...
???????? What?
Reddit brought me here!
2:40 o.O
...hip hop?
"She's in cont__________l"
Very nice arrangement, but please stop using autotune...it really doesn't mean a thing...The main fun of a cappella is to tune with the others singers, not with computer. =/ You don't need that shit !
That WAS a belch-fart-fry tone...though one with a hint of Eb pitch to it, I suppose.
