Thanks Kev. Again what lovely quality. Must be hard work and quite a 'sort out' from all those old tapes. I think the 'mystery singer' on the last song was either Les Howard or Bill Elliot. Unfortunately the tape ended before Eric could tell us. I remember well parts of this show. I see Julie Roger's, Dickie Valentine, Dick Emery and Dennis Lotis also featured in this series. Hopefully, with time, you can give us some more 'gems'. So much appreciated. Thanks again. Chris
Following on from my comments, over a month ago, I can confirm the singer in the record played ,at the end of your last tape, was indeed Les Howard. After Eric, he sang, with great success, with the BBC Northern Dance Orchestra, and the 'Make Way for Music', popular BBC series. These shows were compered by the controversial Roger Moffat. Will we have the good fortune of hearing any more of these Eric Winstone 1971 broadcast 'gems ', or is the last one in your 'treasure chest ' ? All best wishes from West Hollywood, CA.
Sorry I have been busy of late I do have a few more half shows as I think I explained a whole show was recorded on two tapes so I do have maybe 3 or 4 half-shows but sadly my old Sony TC 377 reel-to-reel is playing up and has developed a switch fault these have to be transferred to the computer in real-time and often need re joining in many places as the damp does the joins so that can be a real pain. And like I said the old Sony has to go on the bench for a total strip down which well that's the unknown how long all that will take now it is summer time these old tapes do shed lots of tape particles and I think it has become clogged up inside so needs a good cleaning But yes they will come on the channel in time for sure that I promise you but as to when that might be I could not say as yet. Thanks for your interest in these. All good wishes Kev.
TY so much. My goodness, this is a true labour of love. Rest assured I really appreciate your wonderful work and efforts. I am just listening to the last one, from April. Wondrous. Well ,I will be patient and see what Winstone delight you come up with next. I knew Eric throughout my young life, thru Butlins, and hearing these, final broadcasts ,puts the shivers, in the nicest possible way, thru me, with wonderful memories. He was a wonderful man, who loved kids, with endless patience. Fingers crossed, and rest assured, your efforts will be appreciated by yours truly.
