Honestly didn't expect the price of the cosmetic stuff, was a bit shocked with that. The rest of it was about what id expect. Id figured round about 25-30k or so.
I've got about 9-10k total in my truck, that includes the purchase price, the wheels, the COMPLETE suspension, the stereo system and replacing the transmission (which was like 2 grand by itself between the trans, trans cooler and labor)

I know it costs a lot to get big power out of a supra. I started with a twin turbo 6 speed 94 supra in really good condition, added a trust drag front mount cooler, a trust nur Vspec 4" exhaust, garret T51R ball bearing turbo, custom 3 1/2" down pipe, 5" cat converter, twin Bosch 044 inline fuel pumps, sard 1000cc injectors, said fuel pressure regulator, sard fuel rail, 2l swirl tank using the standard (voltage converted) fuel pump as a pick up, 3/8" fuel lines twin in and single return, 2" tial 52mm waste gate, screamer pipe, EMS computer, boost controller, greedy adjustable cam gears, tein flex suspension, 19x8 and 19x10 rims with 295/40/19 on the back and made 650hp atw and couldn't get those tyres to hook up in the dry. Spent roughly 10k on top of buying the car getting it to this point as I did a lot of the work myself. Then had to sell my pride and joy as anyone who owns a supra knows a baby seat DOES NOT fit in the back lol.... Now I spend most days wanting another one and doing it all again lol. Great vid bro...
Sik2jz Heck yeah... Except here in Australia it is hard to find a TT that hasn't been played with. I want to do it myself again, as once it's done you don't know how much boost they have put through it, if the internals are any good. See I used a bore scope to check the bores and pistons and did a compression test before I did any work just so I knew she was all good. Next time I will do internals and extrude hone the ports as well, that just gives the ports them a mirror like finish and improves flow more than you would think. Not cheap but worth it when chasing power. However next time I'm going for over 1000hp.... And yes, I am a little mental.....ok maybe a bit more than a little lol

It genuinely sounded like turbo flutter to me.This bov sounds way different from car to car and while I hate the sound of the atmospheric bov in your car sounds amazing
It flutters, you can hear the two different sounds, first your hear the flutter then the whoosh of the blow off valve, it's hard to stop the flutter when you are running enough boost to make 1000hp, also no the HKS blow off vales do not sound like flutter.
depending where you live BOV's are illegal most places for noise reasons, the turbo can vent without the loud sound and it just pisses people in the suburbs off and lets police know they can get an easy defect on your car
I love the car bro. I used to build custom drag cars in Orlando and I could have built a 2jz for alot cheaper. I love the supra body but its heavy. You could have done more for the money if you have gotten an ae86 with a 2jz swap. I had two cars like that. One was a street car making 850hp to the wheel and the other was a drag car making 1750hp. I crashed the drag car one day when the turbo oil feed line broke at the top end and smashed the wall at about 220+. But both of my cars weighed about 2050lbs without me in it. Then I sold the street car due to financial problems. But for what you're car can do at 1000hp my ae86 could have done it at about 800hp because its lighter. But don't get me wrong, I love what you did. The way I see it your cool in my book. I was just raised that theres always a cheaper alternative to everything and I did just that with my ae86's. Supra body's are just too expensive. So why get that when you can do it cheaper. But if anything, just keep up the good work man and represent us tuners. Show people the power of toyota.
I'm building a supra at the moment and the gearbox is proving to be an issue. Even second hand getrags are fetching $7 and spare parts are basically impossible to come by if you ever have to rebuild. A lot of people locally are using CD09 boxes out of 370zs which you get new with adapter kits for the same price of a getrag. T56 is another option I'm considering.

A quick Google search showed upwards of 600hp on a stock LS6 bottom end. What are these stock bottom end small blocks you speak of? Here we have a very specific motor (from the 90s, nonetheless) and you throw out an entire array of engines as the answer, though I would venture to say the answer would be incorrect for a very large majority of the engines.
Then you get those crazy people that run 1000+hp on a stock rotating assembly that last 2-3 passes of a drag strip at most, just because they can. Also why would you want a small block V8 when 2Js are perfectly capable engines. OEM blocks can handle near 2000hp before they can’t take the cylinder pressure lmao
What are you on? 750 hp felt slow after just 2 weeks? Either you've spent everyday at the drag strip racing against 7 second cars or you've been stuck in rush hour never getting past 1500 rpm. In which case, I'd say yeah, it's "slow".
Hollinger Hill you should look at headlights for normal new 3 series bmws their over 2k each because of a stupid computer system they have and stuff supposedly
Headlights in general are just plain expensive parts. Even for cheaper cars, OEM headlights are still going to cost about 2-300 dollars and that's just plain halogen bulbs. HID headlights cost much more and the latest LED driven ones go up into the multi thousand dollar range.

Haah! About 35k for a 1000hp Supra, I got quoted about 18k for a 450kw(atw) set up with some good guys. I can definitely afford that 35k but it’s no use in New Zealand and freaking honestly, 35k is blows my mind as to how cheap that is. When I asked for about 450kws, the guy, without any hesitation just said ‘oh yeah, easy’ 😂 I was going to sell my car but to see how much this beauty can do and how great the drive always is, I won’t think about it again. To build a solid, as reliable as possible 1000hp Supra, you are looking realistically at over $80K.. Super car-type money. Can be a lot more too if you do not know how to do any labor, as performance shops these days can charge upwards of $150 per hour and more. I'd personally just invest in a R35 if you only care about speed and performance.. You can find 2105 GTR's for under $70K. All the people I know who have had Supra's have dealt with a ton of headaches, and because the car is becoming more rare and parts way more expensive, every little problem can cost. Quite honestly, If i had a Supra, I'd probably stash it as they will probably go for big money in the future if you have one in good condition. Kinda like Evo8 and 9's are jumping in price big time. Buddy of mine bought an Evo8 for $25K back in 2008 with 25K miles and now people are offering him $35-$40K for it as it still only has like 35K miles. He barely drives it and it is in great shape.
+Sik2jz.. Yeah and don't take my comment as any type of disrespect towards the Supra.. It is an amazing car with an amazing engine. Truly an incredible machine all around. It has its pros and cons to an R35.. Like stick shift, and RWD.. You cant get the same feel in an R35 that you can in a Manual Supra.. It all depends on what you like. The biggest problem comes down to reliability and parts when it comes to the Supra. They are 2 decades old. OEM parts are becoming more and more rare, and it is becoming harder and harder to find good specimens. It has a good aftermarket, but it is still just as expensive as a new GTR. If you simply want performance, it is hard to justify a Supra over a GTR these days due to the AWD and DCT of the GTR with all its upgraded technology. And with the affordability of GTR's now(like 09's for 40 and 50K) it would just be hard to turn one down if you are strictly about speed and performance. But your Supra is beautiful and I hope you have a ton of fun with it. Not many people get to own one.

+Tappajaav It's practical if you stay out of boost you can drive it all over like a normal car. As far as mpg it's prob around 15 or less. I use it for just some weekend fun. I do have a practical daily driver.

its optional to change the intake manifold,the oem intake can handle more than 1000hp,and like u said in the video there are other brands out there u can use! i got a hold on a second hand 1000hp twin turbo kit for 1700$ it came with two Gtx2867r(tial exhaust housing) twin tial wg, doc racing manifolds,downpipe and all the piping for oil and water..previous owner made 1100hp on E85..
~$50-55,000 to get a roughly 1000HP vehicle isn't terrible with all things considered. People go out and spend 100k+ on a Corvette, and they aren't 1000HP from the factory even in their top trim, so you'll spend more $$$$ to get it there.
Huge props to dedication and making a car like this, definitely worth it, who can say they got a 1000hp for 60k, new bmw m cars cost over that and nowhere near 1000hp, this is a car you would never need to sell in your lifetime, hopefully one day can do a project myself like this, but definitely not 1000hp for me, too fast 😂😂😂😂, dont know how you get bored of 700hp 😑😑😑😑

Murph0981 Gaming Personal favorite cheap tuner car is the Infiniti G37x. You can boost that thing to 600 and run about the same as he paid for the supra alone thanks to the aluminum V6.
Thought about buying a really cheap lexus sc300. found one locally for 6,500$ grandma driven for 60k miles. all I gotta do is put in some sturdy internals, a decent turbo kit and for less than 15K total I can have a sleeper supra. I know those engines don't take boost well and the one I'm looking at is auto, but on low psi I can have a budget supra build.

I love the vision that the car community has, like when you buy a car you don't see it for what it actually is, it's just your platform to build whatever makes you happy. This guy could have easily just gotten a new frs or brz (cringe on a high power supra video I know) but instead he went way out of his extract the potential out of an example that wasn't particularly clean (although it was in pretty decent shape)
I'd love to get a Supra.. But I don't want or need 1000HP. If I got one, I would be completely happy with 550-650. I would want to keep it so it could be easily daily driven without worrying about throwing a rod ( as much lol ). Great explanation of everything though!

It flutters, you can hear the two different sounds, first your hear the flutter then the whoosh of the blow off valve, it's hard to stop the flutter when you are running enough boost to make 1000hp, also no the HKS blow off vales do not sound like flutter.
depending where you live BOV's are illegal most places for noise reasons, the turbo can vent without the loud sound and it just pisses people in the suburbs off and lets police know they can get an easy defect on your car
I love the car bro. I used to build custom drag cars in Orlando and I could have built a 2jz for alot cheaper. I love the supra body but its heavy. You could have done more for the money if you have gotten an ae86 with a 2jz swap. I had two cars like that. One was a street car making 850hp to the wheel and the other was a drag car making 1750hp. I crashed the drag car one day when the turbo oil feed line broke at the top end and smashed the wall at about 220+. But both of my cars weighed about 2050lbs without me in it. Then I sold the street car due to financial problems. But for what you're car can do at 1000hp my ae86 could have done it at about 800hp because its lighter. But don't get me wrong, I love what you did. The way I see it your cool in my book. I was just raised that theres always a cheaper alternative to everything and I did just that with my ae86's. Supra body's are just too expensive. So why get that when you can do it cheaper. But if anything, just keep up the good work man and represent us tuners. Show people the power of toyota.

I'm building a supra at the moment and the gearbox is proving to be an issue. Even second hand getrags are fetching $7 and spare parts are basically impossible to come by if you ever have to rebuild. A lot of people locally are using CD09 boxes out of 370zs which you get new with adapter kits for the same price of a getrag. T56 is another option I'm considering.

A quick Google search showed upwards of 600hp on a stock LS6 bottom end. What are these stock bottom end small blocks you speak of? Here we have a very specific motor (from the 90s, nonetheless) and you throw out an entire array of engines as the answer, though I would venture to say the answer would be incorrect for a very large majority of the engines.
Then you get those crazy people that run 1000+hp on a stock rotating assembly that last 2-3 passes of a drag strip at most, just because they can.
Also why would you want a small block V8 when 2Js are perfectly capable engines. OEM blocks can handle near 2000hp before they can’t take the cylinder pressure lmao

Headlights in general are just plain expensive parts. Even for cheaper cars, OEM headlights are still going to cost about 2-300 dollars and that's just plain halogen bulbs.
HID headlights cost much more and the latest LED driven ones go up into the multi thousand dollar range.
1200 for my mk7 gti headlights... worth every penny...

Haah! About 35k for a 1000hp Supra, I got quoted about 18k for a 450kw(atw) set up with some good guys. I can definitely afford that 35k but it’s no use in New Zealand and freaking honestly, 35k is blows my mind as to how cheap that is.
When I asked for about 450kws, the guy, without any hesitation just said ‘oh yeah, easy’ 😂

To build a solid, as reliable as possible 1000hp Supra, you are looking realistically at over $80K.. Super car-type money. Can be a lot more too if you do not know how to do any labor, as performance shops these days can charge upwards of $150 per hour and more. I'd personally just invest in a R35 if you only care about speed and performance.. You can find 2105 GTR's for under $70K. All the people I know who have had Supra's have dealt with a ton of headaches, and because the car is becoming more rare and parts way more expensive, every little problem can cost. Quite honestly, If i had a Supra, I'd probably stash it as they will probably go for big money in the future if you have one in good condition. Kinda like Evo8 and 9's are jumping in price big time. Buddy of mine bought an Evo8 for $25K back in 2008 with 25K miles and now people are offering him $35-$40K for it as it still only has like 35K miles. He barely drives it and it is in great shape.

+Sik2jz.. Yeah and don't take my comment as any type of disrespect towards the Supra.. It is an amazing car with an amazing engine. Truly an incredible machine all around. It has its pros and cons to an R35.. Like stick shift, and RWD.. You cant get the same feel in an R35 that you can in a Manual Supra.. It all depends on what you like. The biggest problem comes down to reliability and parts when it comes to the Supra. They are 2 decades old. OEM parts are becoming more and more rare, and it is becoming harder and harder to find good specimens. It has a good aftermarket, but it is still just as expensive as a new GTR. If you simply want performance, it is hard to justify a Supra over a GTR these days due to the AWD and DCT of the GTR with all its upgraded technology. And with the affordability of GTR's now(like 09's for 40 and 50K) it would just be hard to turn one down if you are strictly about speed and performance. But your Supra is beautiful and I hope you have a ton of fun with it. Not many people get to own one.

+Tappajaav It's practical if you stay out of boost you can drive it all over like a normal car. As far as mpg it's prob around 15 or less. I use it for just some weekend fun. I do have a practical daily driver.

its optional to change the intake manifold,the oem intake can handle more than 1000hp,and like u said in the video there are other brands out there u can use! i got a hold on a second hand 1000hp twin turbo kit for 1700$ it came with two Gtx2867r(tial exhaust housing) twin tial wg, doc racing manifolds,downpipe and all the piping for oil and water..previous owner made 1100hp on E85..
~$50-55,000 to get a roughly 1000HP vehicle isn't terrible with all things considered. People go out and spend 100k+ on a Corvette, and they aren't 1000HP from the factory even in their top trim, so you'll spend more $$$$ to get it there.

Thought about buying a really cheap lexus sc300. found one locally for 6,500$ grandma driven for 60k miles. all I gotta do is put in some sturdy internals, a decent turbo kit and for less than 15K total I can have a sleeper supra. I know those engines don't take boost well and the one I'm looking at is auto, but on low psi I can have a budget supra build.

I'd love to get a Supra.. But I don't want or need 1000HP. If I got one, I would be completely happy with 550-650. I would want to keep it so it could be easily daily driven without worrying about throwing a rod ( as much lol ). Great explanation of everything though!

Turbos, ECU mapping & exhausts do. New intake, bigger fuel pumps & injectors do. Then upgraded cooling is required.
