Apart from loose grounding screws that resistor is the only weak spot that i am aware of. I still have a fully working Pioneer Kuro Plasma, far better than todays Led or Oled sets for a natural picture. Long may they last.
The Pioneer Kuro Elite Pro 151-FD is my favorite one of the TVs I own. Recently had the back off the tighten all the screws. Amazed at how many boards that thing has.
I probably saw this being made, having worked as Manufacturing Process Engineer during the early 2000s at the PTK facility in Castleford where this set was born !
A rule of thumb I have when repairing any plasma TVs. Always tighten every screw on all the boards if not this will cause problems with grounding problems which can lead to possible failure of Y Sustain boards and permanent damage the problem is with all plasmas is they warm in side Causing the screws to come loose over a period of time causing Major issues👍🇦🇺

Yes always needed on Panasonics and Samsungs. Never had to do it on a Pioneer.
You can see why these were so expensive - lots of quality electronics and a chassis built like a tank.
Great picture, and excellent sound - especially with a sub-woofer, which it has the socket for! Built like a Rolls :-)
Great video Alan, love seeing things brought back to life 👍
