Celtic board have no ambition to progress in Champions League or Europa. Their only ambition is to win the SPL and qualify. That’s reflected in how little they invest in the squad. It’s insulting to us Celtic fans and needs to change.

We (Feyenoord) were definitely not at our best today. Probably the worst match we have played this year, even in our league draws I felt like we were playing much better. We really struggled creating big chances going forward, probably because we were missing our strikers. But even though our attack was lacking, our defence basically prevented any real scoring chances from Celtic and I never felt we were in danger of conceding. The only player on Celtics side that looked slightly threatening was Maeda with his speed. So overall with us playing like this I couldn't be more happy with the result. But it leaves me curious to see how the return will turn out. I think both teams should be better then today and it being the group decider it should be a good game, with no doubt a great atmosphere.
Anyways loved following your coverage of the match from a Celtic perspective and good luck in your games against Lazio and Atletico.

I think Atletico should be the favourite just because all the quality they have in their squad. I don't know about Lazio, they haven't looked good so far in the Serie A this season. I think Feyenoord, Celtic and Lazio all have a realistic shot to make it to the next round. Feels very similiar to our Europa League group last year. Where we actually knocked Lazio out on the last match day even though all 4 teams in the group ended with the same amount of points.

You got us at a good time. The game came too early for us. With us changing manager, not being able to bed in new signings and having a number of injuries mostly in defence, we're no were near any sort of rhythm, form or even proper fitness level yet. We are always much better at home and hopefully by then our injury problems wont be so bad so I would expect us to be much stronger in the return leg. Its disappointing for us because I believe the level we were playing at last season was much better than the level you played at tonight and if we had kept that momentum and consistency going we would have won a game like that but the changes we've had to make have basically put us back to the start of a new cycle. I think with Rodgers coming back we probably wont see the best of Celtic until next year and Europe this season may turn out to be too far a stretch for us right now. Losing Ange has been a tough blow for us to recover from so far but I think we'll get there in time. It was hard replacing Rodgers the first time he left but I feel its been much tougher so far after Ange has left, hes genuinely one of the best in the world and our football was much more dynamic under him. Rodgers is a good manager, probably the best we could get now but Ange was a step above and the adjustment period may be half our season.

From a rotterdamer living in Scotland both supporting feyenoord and Celtic, Feyenoord gets my congratulations, am looking at the Celtic board with disappointment, players done what they could but the board needs to dig deeper in the years profits to give Celtic a chance to play champions league, Feyenoord can go to the last 16 with playing gd controled football, if we even come close to the sevco record, Celtic can expect furious backlash not having Celtic get humiliated and embarrassed by its own board cause they won’t spend on quality

I have felt this way for awhile now, I feel as if Celtic just don’t know how to score.. we don’t have a player that can take over a game. I know we can’t afford marquee players, but why can’t we depend on a single player to take on an opponent and score a goal? Last season everyone was scoring goals, we had multiple game changers. But this year it seems like everyone is just waiting for someone else to take control. I don’t know maybe it’s just how I’m seeing it. The first half did give me hope though, we can get a result at paradise. Anyways HH bhoys and great job with a quick upload Ryan, class as always m8 🍻🍀

The fact Kyogo is avoiding a lot of criticism for that free kick is baffling to me. If he literally jumps straight up he blocks that, but he *contorted* himself as if he was making every effort to get out of its path? I'm not saying Hart's positioning was perfect, clearly it wasn't, but surely you set up a wall assuming that if the freekick taker aims it at the wall (which he did) it'll bounce off (which it should have done), providing everyone does their job. However, Kyogo didn't and it forced Hart to try and make an awkward save. Sure, pick someone else to stand in the wall if you like, but if you're in it *take the hit* or you risk allowing your side to concede 🤷‍♂

I think the game just came too soon for us. I know its disappointing because we've seen celtic play better than what feyenoord were tonight but we have to understand that with ange leaving and brendan coming back we are at the early stage of a new cycle. A new system, with new players and key players injured, away from home against dutch champions who are in the 3rd year of their cycle. Its understandable that we are behind just now. It will take time for the squad to fully get the best out of the new system and for them to reach the level of fitness and performance required to perform at our peak. The encouraging thing is that the distance isn't insurmountable and the structure in the team and style is starting to show in some phases of play and there is some degree of improvement with respect to the players understanding of the system. I think we just need more games and more time to get fitter and sharper. It will come but this years european venture may be a step too far too expect success this early into this teams cycle. Its shite, I know after the hope that ange built but its just the realities of football

Our shity build up from the back is what cost us any kind of result. Scales and Taylor couldn't pass their way out of a wet paper bag. Every pass Scales made to hatate was really poor. The ball was just being fired at him with a player breathing down his neck with no player to pick up a quick pass. It was actually embarrassing watching us trying to play out from the back. The opposition literally just left 4 players to press and we couldn't do anything with it. All it done was building pressure on the team which ultimately lead to a free kick. The less we talk about that the better. We'll never improve in Europe as long as we're in the league we play in. The sad thing it will never change and we'll never get the players this club deserves. What does that say about our league when a team this shambolic in Europe is that dominant in the spl

Any other year I'd be mad but tbh, to still end any CL game with a 2 goal deficit this year is probably not bad for us tbh. Even more so when you consider we were with 9 men for the last 30 mins.
It's hard to be ambitious in Europe but we have to keep the faith in the young players we are signing and hope Rodgers can impose a winning style on this team as before HH

@@__Mike__2000 Your business model isn't set up for European progress.
It doesn't allow you to build a team.
You offer 5 year contracts with the promise a player can move in two years if a good offer comes in.
This means that Celtic view themselves as bottom rung stepping stones and that they accept they aren't likely to attract players of CL quality.
I think it's probably a sensible position, but can understand why it frustrates you, but Celtic/Rangers have dropped so far down the pecking order that no player or manager capable of delivering European success is going to lower themselves to Scottish level football and having to tolerate going to some of the truly dreadful domestic fixtures as well as living in Glasgow in 2-6x less money they could earn elsewhere.
If a player is on Celtics radar, he probably also has about 50 other options to pick from. You have to ask why would any player join a Scottish club.
