Can we please get an a139 pro vs mini 2 video? Ideally one where you do the zoom in on the license plates. Really considering doing a dual mini 2 setup.
I easily can because I have the A139 Pro permanently mounted on the windshield. However final production U3000 should be in my hands any day now so that I can make the Dr970X vs, U3000 vs A139 Pro.
I am also not sure… if A119 mini 2 is that great, then why should we get A139 pro if 2Ch/3Ch would drop its frame & bit rate? Why not I just get two A119 mini 2? Thanks
I will be using this as a rear camera and it will be behind a heavily tinted window. Do you recommend having HDR on or off considering the window tint?
Thanks Chuck. Yeah its like when Siri, or Alexa, or Google respond when you dont want them to. They did ask me what I would recommend replacing them with? Not sure
I'm getting way too much light glare from headlights and pole lights at night on my mini 2. What are the best resolutions for it? I have HDR on at night and off during the day
Ive been using the samsung pro endurance sd card for years in my A119 v3 and havent had any problems with it. Another dash cam place said that they dont recommend using Sandisk cards. So not sure what to believe but mine card is working fine so I'll stick to that instead of buying another card.
Hey Ben, with Loop Recording, will this unit record over from the beginning once all the data in used on the SD card? I'd like to set it and forget it. Thanks
I did my research. So far I found the viofo a119 the least and best budget device. If you still don't believe it, then you can always do your research too.
Great advice regarding which micro-sd card to buy, thanks; one question! do I NEED the Circuit Fuse Tap when buying the HK4 Hardwire Kit? Thanks again.
The difference between Mini 1 and Mini 2 is 30 Euros in my country. Would you consider that to be worth it? To me it isn't. Not English native so voice recognition won't understand me and the video improvements aren't that huge.
They are both great investments. There are people who still own an Iphone 8 and love it. It answers calls, texts, and cruises the internet. There are people like me that want the Iphone 15 pro max as soon as it releases. Both do the job required. One is the latest greatest tech.
Hey Ben. I was thinking of hardwiring 2 A119 mini to my vehicle(Starvis 2 at the front and back). Is that a bad idea ? The reason I ask is because I haven't seen people do that often. I am not fussed about having to install 2 SSD cards. Also how long do you think the battery will last in parking mode if I were to hardwire 2 of them to my car ?
I am also considering the Vantrue N4 pro. It seems that they have updated the firmware to make the camera bootup time down from 12 second to 5 seconds in the collision detection mode (as per users in the dash cam talk website). Would be interesting if you are planning to revisit that one. Many thanks .
@@varunbabu008 seriously consider the fact you will need to run power ground and ignition all the way from the tach to front of vehicle. @@varunbabu008 How could they have made it down to 5 seconds? my video went live August 8th and I recorded it August 7th. So in 2 weeks they somehow fixed that. But still 5 seconds is way too long in my opinion. needs to be 1 second like Thinkware.
I feel like this should have been a review of the new Mini 2 rather than a comparison. The price difference is negligible , the older gen Mini is ... well old. I'm heavily considering the Mini2, the only budget friendly one featuring the new Starvis 2?
Thanks Ben an enlightening comparison, and excellent job as per usual. Tempted but already own the first gen A119 Mini (with a couple of Viofo Bluetooth remote controls), and many other dash cams including one's with voice control... The latter feature I rarely use. The video quality from the Mini 2 though has me thinking so we'll see what happens, a slight drop in our Canadian pricing just might do it LOL.
Probably going to get a mini 2 next week. If it dies on me then it’s not like a $700 camera going in the bin. If it works well I might get a second one for the rear. Voice commands will be turned off, that’s not going to be reliable. Will get the Bluetooth button instead. Funny that you say Viofo suggest San disk Extreme is recommended because Sandisk themselves don’t recommend it for any dashcam, they only recommend the Max Endurance.
I noticed also that the reflection on the windshield shows less on the mini2
I use the Samsung pro endurance and it works just fine.
probably is on the 2K dash camera.

I am a fan of HDR. So for me I love turning HDR on. But I would recommend playing with it on and off.
Yo Ben,
Nice job on the video editing.
Good point about removing "Video Stop" from the list of voice commands.

I would probably try either changing angle your camera is positioned or try a polarized lens
Is it removable from mount if one wanted to move it to another car or have sunshade without it in the way
You can remove it from mount and take out of vehicle yes. If you want to mount in another vehicle you will need an extra mount

Possible tp use OBD2 OBD Power Cable for Dash Camera, OBD to Type-C USB OBDII? Thanks.
I make obd2 cables for viofo
Hey Ben, with Loop Recording, will this unit record over from the beginning once all the data in used on the SD card? I'd like to set it and forget it. Thanks
Yes it will. However locked videos it will not record over. So you may need to format it every few months.
Hello, if I buy two of these cameras, can I use the back and front from the same lighter port?
I have ran 2 viofo cameras off a single cigarette lighter port with no issues.

My last question is can I use it in park mode as front and back. Actually, I ordered two pieces and I am undecided

Mini 2 is 30% more expensive than the Mini 1... for just the new sensor plus the voice command. It is almost up to the price range of an A129 Duo.
Well on my end there is a $10 USD and $15 CAD retail difference. Which is not 30%. where are you located that you see that?

You will need fuses of some kind. Either fuse taps or fuse holders. Depends on how you install it.
