Thank you Keith! In my schooldays my two favourite shops in Worcester were Frosts - for model railways and Porters for electrical items. That picture of Porters is exactly how I remember it. Only in very recent years have I thrown away the TV aerial I bought there. It could be the one shown in the window!

I was an electronics hobbyist kid in the 70s and went to school round the corner so was a regular customer.
Many years later my wife took a job working at the estate agents that use the shop now.
      The inside is unrecognizable.

Love Worcester, stationed at Norton Bks in 71, loved Norton Bks, beautiful countryside & town centre. Would start our pub crawl at Dudfields, Shakespeare, Horn & Trumpet, Dolphin, Dive Bar (hic), stagger to Swan & Two Necks & a good Chinky curry or saveloy & chips, taxi Norton, bed 🥱😴

The picture at the beginning of the video of the Severn bridge, the first building on the right hand side, was the home to many Italian workers in the early 1950's. With the demand for workers. I can remember my parents referring to it as the "Italian Embassy." I Left Britain in the 1970's and it's good to see the pictures of Worcester as I remember it. It made me laugh to see the Scala cinema where they had "The Sound of Music," playing for five or six years without a break.

I worked in the Cafe at the Scala, Miss Grey owned it then, around 1969 and we had to wear black and white all the time and no one apart from myself or the lady who washed up was called anything other than Mr or Mrs or Miss! I never had a free cinema ticket all the time I worked there but we had a wonderful chef called Mr Lovejoy who liked a flutter each day, and then there was Carmella and Philomena, 2 wonderful Italian ladies who would take it in turns to cook an Italian feed which they shared with me!

Great old photos Keith. Some memories and some before my time. You're not too shabby on the Piano either.

To be pedantic, at 1.12 what is labelled as Friar Street was Sidbury. Sidbury turned right and went as far as Lich Street where Friar Street terminated. Following the demolition of Lich Street the Friar Street numbering was extended to College Street. The Flowers inn is now the Talbot at the end of College Street following that widening during the 1960s'

The streets looked so much cleaner than they do now. Fast food disease has made us fat, the streets dirty and plagues of vermin.

Hi, thanks for subscribing. I haven't thought about other creators using this music. Is there anything specific you have thought about using?
There could be an issue with some copyrighting, especially if you have adverts in your videos.

@@keithlewis5526 if you are the musician and the piece is classic copyright shouldn’t be a problem. Most of us are always looking for something fitting. If you look at our one on Elgar you will see we were helped by Richard M.S. Irwin.
By the way I take it that you are fro Worcester?

    • @keithlewis5526

Yes, I was born and bred in Worcester. Lived in the Blockhouse area for 9 years and then moved to Warndon.
I now live in Droitwich, where I have been for nearly 15 years. But Worcester is where I lived and grew up, it will always have a special place in my heart.
Most of the pieces on my you tube channel are not classical and some of them do have copyright claims, although that doesn’t prevent me from using them on my channel.
I tend to record music which I like, most of which are either popular tunes, or Christian music.
      Are you from Worcester?

@@keithlewis5526 yes we we live on Warndon Villages. We have made a few local videos, so you may see us around. 🎥👍
