DDR Stasi Revolution During this reenactment, you would be watching from a fair distance away. You can't tell what's happening during a charge. It's also good to remember that they want to make this entire thing as safe as possible, and put the least stress on the reenactors. Several people were hospitalized during the reenactment due to accidents and the heat.
Well... that is reenactement. Everybody in there has to go back to work after the event lol. And people in there would rather use real bayonets and not hit each other rather than use fake rubber ones.

I was wondering that as well. I'm guessing its meant to represent a cemetery that was present in 1815 ... or that patch of ground is doubling as another location which includes a cemetery (which wouldn't be correct/allowed to have a reenactment upon really).
question; do cavalry reenactors take hits in the same way as infantry reenactors do? i'd imagine it'd be difficult to get a horse to lie on the spot, and i assume letting it run around is dangerous. haven't finished the video yet but from the cavalry defense early in i don't see any of them taking hits.
I have the information that Steven Spielberg is working now to produce a HBO serie about the life of Napoleon. This will be fantastic if and only if he will be able to put the realism of "Band of Brothers" on the screen. Therefore he should have a look to the big napoleonic reenactment world : maby that this small video (184K views - but without blood in it of course) could be an example in order to approach the realism of some battle scenes. If anybody of you have any contacts with HBO or Steven himself, please send them/him the link !

It must be so surreal to run up to someone, stop and then scream at them while they scream at you all the while with a huge grin on both of your faces.
Most aren’t allowed to use ramrods during a reenactment due to the danger of accidentally shooting your ramrod if you were to forget to take it out. That can injure someone quite badly.
Those smooth bore muskets were pretty inaccurate. That's why Napoleonic tactics were to bring a line of infantry to within 75-100 yards and fire broadsides until one side had been attrited enough to force it to withdraw.
