It feels so real, the only thing it lacks to be real is the soldiers dying after taking hits.
Safety reasons. Long grass makes you hard to see and stepped on. Either from people or horses.
@@damuvang1915 dang.. i never tough of it :/
You sure don't want that.
Fake death is okay tho
@@DaniSC_real I can’t tell if that’s sarcasm or your serious.
This new Empire 2 : Total war looks really good
Napoleon 2*
i already saw some glitches though.. poor bayonet attack mechanics, units just seem to hug eachother
And a huge accuarcy problem.
My matchlocks in Shogun 2 got more killed than them in one single volley.
Tomii You missed the joke. He was saying that Napoleon was just Empire with a 100 year later start date lol.
@@korstjesantens2903 Yeah units have no weight and muskets dont fire balls just smoke comes out
Thank god, a history video that RUclips hasn’t flagged as offensive
Just you wait.
Manish Peiris Wait, what?! That's just so disrespectful!
What ?
How is that offensive are you a brit mad you lost to a bunch of farmers and rebels
@@moisesbautista5187 what has that got to do with anything?
We all watched the same video, but not really.
Did you see a cute girl holding camera at 2:40

Yeah because you can move around.

Ain’t no romance in war.
Fun Fact: There's a movie about the battle of Waterloo, the film's production team used 17,000 extras to reenact the entire battle... Every single soldier seen on screen is a real person, no CGI, no image manipulation. It's all real...
Source: trust me bro
@@rifzu1795 no
@@rifzu1795 Its a real movie, Waterloo (1970) and its really good
The 17,000 extras were actually red army soldiers from the soviet union.
Yeah yeah we all watched the RUclips historian
Everybody gansta until one of them accidently grabs the live ammunition.
Then the real battle starts, i wonder who would win.
Lol
@@loneneotank.5687 hmm..
Yes
@@denisbudbud *speaks english*
Remember, this is a reenactment, the real battle consisted of WAY MORE than just 6000 men, it was a total of 180,000+ soldiers who fought in this battle
It's kinda a lot, don't you think?
@@Admiral45-10 this is nothing compared to ww1 or ww2 but thats ww2
@@Admiral45-10 germany during the battle of berlin alone had more than 1,500,000 soldiers the invasion of the soviet union had more than 3,000,000

@@doctorrtd4326 and due to WW2, Poland has lost 22,2% of its entire population, which is the highest procentage amount in this war.
The 360° video was cool moving around seeing everything!

Must've been recorded using calculator.

1:39 - He's laughing at the battle
More like being amazed by it lmao
This is going to be my reaction if i play total war empire everyday
1:47 reenactment fail, no one died.
we reenactors were actually told not to because the long crops would hide you an then the cavalry would know know where you were- a it health and safety gone mad !!
doodleqack gaming
Oh, makes sense. Also cool to see a reenactor.
me hee He meant pretend to die not actually die. Part of making a reeanactment feel real is having people pretend to die

Napoleon was seriously a badass
He looked like a penguin, but still badass
He was actually tall for the time.
penguins are badass tho
He was average height at his time
@@VRichardsn average not short not tall but still kinda a penguin
@@poopsiedoodlesp8506 I was under the impression that the average height of the time was 5 feet 5, which would make Napoleon slightly taller. It is a technicality, though, so we can safely say that he was average without thinking it too much.
I don't get the penguin thing, though. Is it because of his face, or because of his clothes?
Very very cool with the 360. It makes you feel like you are there and you can look around at everything. Love It!
Nothing better then watching the french loose in 360° view.
Austerlitz ? Do you remember?

Wow first time I have seen this particular video. I was actually a participant in this reenactment. What a fantastic experience.
I’m impressed the cameraman had it in colour and did the noclip command

Rip to the 10,000+ horses that didn't sign up for this sheit.
It's grand and I love it. Nothing quite like seeing thousands in the field unlike just hearing and reading of it
That was truly an amazing experience thank you so much for the video
Ohh if the photography was invented earlier , we could have so much more about theses times.
Can't argue with a little bit of organised pushing in costume. :o)
Hurrah Napoleon !!!!!
This was incredible. Nice job, National Geographic.
Forget about the war, i am amazed by the technology behind the video footage

Everybody gangsta till napoleon flys on a half robot pig that shoots lazers
-over simplified reference
This is a good 3D representation, but when it comes to the scale, nothing beats the movie "Waterloo" which actually had 15000 soldiers and 2000 cavalry horses in the movie's battle scenes.
Scottish Highlanders and French Old Guards, two giants of the greatest armies of the time face off in one of the most iconic battle in European history, in 4K. Very cool reenactment indeed.
This is what National Geographic should be showing

History professors: Napoleon was one of the greatest tactician in the history.
Napoleon: yeah soldiers, so place yourself in the rows facing enemy and start shooting
So anyway I started blasting
pretty much how wars went during the early gunpowder ages
This shaders mod for holdfast is looking really good rn
The thing that is usually missing (and hard to inertly reproduce for reenactments) is the effects of the six and 12 pounder round shot. One soldier talked about a round shot coming through the British ranks and taking out a dozen men. Horse artillery was normally used in conjunction with cavalry to breakup formations so the lancers could finish off the scattered. Fortunately for the British, the previous night's rain had softened the ground so many of the French round shot burrowed-in instead of skipping into their ranks, and Wellington had the good sense to have his men lay down so, at least, some of them passed over the British squares. Like Lil Alex quipped in Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange", "real horror show".

Wow, the new Napoleon: Total War looks really good
(but seriously, nice video)
Wow...That is just a amazing! I felt like I was witnessing history be written in person! LOVE IT!
Fun fact: the cameraman is from the other Century.
Very nice scene very very nice beautiful very very beautiful mashallah mashallah
Would be nice if they added some morale-boosting music that’s more appropriate to the era like men of harlech, victoire est a nous, British grenadier’s march, the girl I left behind me, March of the Imperial Guard, Prussian glory march, etc. instead of this dramatic music
This was really cool! Thanks for uploading this :D
Amazing !!!
They have camera better quality than ufo footage
This mod for empire: total war looks good!
Amo este tipo de videos
Grande NatGeo💪
This is phenomenal
This marked the beginning of wars to come such as World War I and II, we shall never forget the five million that died in this war
Ya!!! we won't forget their unconditional sacrifice....
Would’ve been nice to hear some authentic army music from the time as the background sound, rather than the generic Hans Zimmer-fied tedium that seems to have infested every piece of dramatic action cinema these days. This battle is not The Dark Knight Rises.
It's National Geographic and Hans is literally on their payroll, but yeah I'd like the 'ol fife & drum with horns too.
This is amazing
This is awesome, fun fact: 0:29 there is a plane flying above
Not enough people to call that a Grand Armee.
Lot of these 360 videos there isn’t a lot of detail around the camera so looking around is pointless but this surrounds the audience in the action looking around is awesome
I’m not ready for this my lord.
Vive la France, vive l'Empereur !!!!!
Красота-то какая!
Viva la France 🇫🇷
Napoleon was great .
theres a game in roblox like this waterloo. LOOKS REALLY COOL
Just like the simulation...

can not smile!performer!
Unbelievable to see it almost from the first person!!!
This gives me ABBA flashbacks
Wellington is beaten! Nows the time to move the old guard forward!
This was so cool!
I believe the largest reenactment would be the movie Waterloo from 1970, the movie director had had himself leased over 16,000 Red Army soldiers, and there's no CGI in that movie at all, all attacks and cavalry charges you'll see are real, and were filmed on the spot.
Nice Kevlar vests these 19th century soldiers got.
Next Leipzig or borodino plz
